Competition

The next day, Eun-Kyung knocked on jong-ji's door to wake him up. Jong-ji surprised her by tapping her shoulder from behind. He had already woken a little while ago. They ate their breakfast and went to school. When they arrived at school, the school bells rung and they went to their class. Most of their classes are taught outside. Fights like hand to hand combat are done by boys. Although girls could also learn it, most of them learned magic. Magic was taught in the later semester so girls don't have to partake in competitions. The boys could also learn magic. There was always a big tournament at the end of each year where they will be either picked by big figures as their disciple or have to wait out till they finished their third year of school by the age of fifteen.

The teacher took them to an arena.

"Today we will do a fighting competition" the teacher said

The male students came out from the groups. The system appeared

Before jong-ji went out,

"Don't get hurt" Eun-Kyung said

"I will get first place for you" jong-ji said while pinching her cheeks.

He went out to line up. It was the first year of school and most students don't know how to fight. But some who came from big families knew how.

"Now, pick your numbers from the box infront of me"

There was a box with folded papers with numbers inside. Jong-ji got number 26. There was a a big screen in the air which was projected to see who was supposed to be battle with whom. the winner could challenge one person. The challenged person would not have to fight for the next battle if they won. Then the screen would show whom would fight with whom.

Jong-ji had to wait around for a while till his match took place. Some of the matches were one sided because it was between children from big families and from normal families. Jong-ji match came and the opponent was a guy from a normal family. So, he won with one punch in the face that made the opponent faint. He didn't want to be ruthless but the guy had determination on his face that he will fight over and over again untill he fainted. He then went back and wait for his second match. Then his second match came

"Jong-ji vs Yean-chu"

Yean-chu was from the chu family, one of the big families. Both went up and saw each other. Yean-chu was from a big family but he didn't act arrogant and bowed before starting to fight which made jong-ji surprised. Jong-ji also bowed back. He used the inspect skill.

"Inspect skill used

They had similar speeds. Their fits hit and a gust of wind blew. They had similar strengths as well but jong-ji was a little stronger. When one hit, one would block. This went on for about a minute, then they backed out. There was no limitations for Mana use. It was now depending on their skills on mana. Yean-chu concentrated all his Mana in his hand and shot out a beam. The beam was big and he made it as a final skill for strong opponents.

The beam flew fast and it made dust everywhere.

There was a figure standing when the dusts dispersed. It was jong-ji. Everyone said

"How"

None knew but at the last second when the beam was about to hit jong-ji, he used shadow step

Mana will drain 10 per minute"

Shadow step was a footwork that made jong-ji faster and stronger. It was a skill that depended on his stats. It would increase all of his stats by about 50%.

Yean-chu shot more beams but jong-ji doged them all. He got closer to Yean-chu and formed a blade out mana. Yean-chu already drained his Mana from shooting out beams. It drained more Mana than a Mana blade. Jong-ji pointed the blade to his neck and Yean-chu surrendered. Jong-ji retracted the Mana blade and deactivated his shadow step skill and walked off the stage. Yean-chu said

"Thank you for the match, I now know that I am still weak. Let's be friends after the competition".

Jong-ji held his hand in the air a little over his shoulders and waved at him while waking out of the arena

"I will take that as a yes" Yean-chu said.
