Joey Miller doesn't talk much. He lives in a dark town which carries dark secrets. But those secrets aren't compared to his own. No one knows that he lives with a shadow...
Unable to bear his life, he flees after an incident that changes everything.
Meanwhile, far in the fields lives Charlotte Quin, who loves to write. But she's hiding an illness from her family, knowing that they won't be able to treat it. Then, her simple and plain life in the farm takes a twist when she finds a run-away.
Read how the two meet and struggle with the dangers ahead of them.
What I like the most about this story is how the characters are so real. They have human struggles and human solutions (or reactions). The mc has a conscience but wants to live (understandable), and he copes with what he got the way he can. The second mc (the fl???) also is really believable and has her priorities and life even before the start of the story (meaning, she wasn't born just as a decoration to the story, she's a whole person, not flat). Grammar is okay, I guess (I'm not the right person to judge that). Vocabulary is broad enough to make you enjoy reading but not too much as to make you stop and check on google what does a word mean, it's the right balance. Overall, a good start. If you start this, you'll find yourself reading on the edge of the chair (or couch, or bed), waiting for the next revelation or big event, your heart pounding as the characters' at the most thrilling moments :D
This has got to be one of the best horrors on here. I am a few chapters in, and every chapter is giving me goosebumps! The techniques the author uses are really professional: its dramatic, tense, and altogether thoroughly chilling! A great horror, fantastic plot, absolutely will keep reading, what an inspiration!
DESERVES NOBEL-PRIZE believe me and i was reading it at the night and I like got so scared Woah ooof- this book is like a roller coaster of feelings
Everything is flawlessly awesome! It was a great reading experience for me. I have to say that it was a nice read. Overall, it was highly recommended for me and can't wait to read more!
What a suspense-filled novel. The story is good and unique. it has a hint of mystery and thriller and it is good. check the novel out and I am sure you will like it
So far so good! Carry on please! I definitely recommend it.
This story is lit! Finally! After reviewing soooooooooooo many (just to get the idea) stories of the same common tropes (system, transmigration, and romance). There is this gem! I really like how the author narrates the story. There are no tryhard mystery vibes here. The author just writes it so smooth that in your head, itself, adds the mystery vibes! Kudos! Definitely going to add it to my collection!
One word : WOW! I haven't read all the chapters, but the ones I've read so far were so intriguing. I loved how I could actually feel what the characters were feeling as they faced the many challenges thrusted upon them. I found myself rooting for them. Honestly, it's amazing how great of an author you are. Keep up the great work cause this is a masterpiece!
I'm leaving a review after reading just up to chapter three, this story was that good! Wow, what a twist in the first chapter, though it was shocking, the way the author built it up it felt so natural like I knew it would happen, but at the same time I didn't. The MC was well written, felt like I was inside the head of a real teenager, and it was fun. he scary mood was strong from the first few lines as well, instantly I knew what kind of story I was getting into and the cover confirmed it. Amazing job to the author. Great read! Keep writing.
The creepiest yet a fascinating plotline. Some grammatical errors and slow pace in the charlotte portions bothered me a bit but I was completely taken by the father-son relationship. Into 10 chapters as of now. Loved the concept of a psychopathic father and his helpless son luring people as sacrificial lambs for his survival. Will continue the rest...
Never thought reading a horror story could scare me, honestly (author) you really changed my opinion on that. Hats off...... The writing style is also very engaging, waiting to read the upcoming contents
I am an author who loves writing thriller myself, but I struggle with horror and am always in awe of people who are able to write horror and that too so well! The very monologue in the beginning was interesting and the atmosphere of the book set by the author is very alluring! Adding to my library!
Ok. Lemme cry. I -- the character's AND MY psychological trauma can be felt at my skin. Please give this a try! I know! I know this might be too scary for a chicken like me but THAT'S THE POINT!
You can already see from the first few sentences, that is this an amazingly high quality and well-written novel. I honestly have no complaints, wish I did so that I could have more to write about but no, this is just too good for words to even describe. The narrative is perfect, so much so that I'm taking notes on how you manage to narrate while having such a clear description of this world with a build-up of suspense and intrigue. Honestly one of the best horror works I've read, especially on this site.
This story is good written. From the beginning to the latest, its simply amazing. the story however, holds the readers attention making you not leave until you see more! i expect great things from you author-san! keep up the good work. Kudos to you!
