Chapter 12

*Louise's point of view*

pumpkin?

did he really just call me pumpkin?

I stared at him in complete and utter confusion. I had not taken him to be someone who easily came up with pet names to people he hardly knew.

'What is it?' he asked obviously amused at my expression as he leaned the car door, 'Why are you looking at me like I have just grown another head?'

'Don't call me pumpkin!' I snapped, 'Its Louise or Miss Spiers to you.'

'I don't think so pumpkin,' he smirked as he crossed his arm and relaxed back even more, ' you work for me, not the other way so you can't tell me what do and I can call you whatever I want and I chose pumpkin.'

Scowling at his stubborn nature, I turned my head towards the window for the remaining of the car journey so he didn't see my look of surprise when the car pulled into the parking lot of the travel lodge hotel. I was pretty sure that the hotel was a budget hotel, not the fancy hotel I was expecting him to stay in. I turned around to question him but he was already out the car and walking towards my side.

'What you think just because I'm rich I always like to have expensive things?' he asked sarcastically as he helped me out of the vehicle, 'i worked damn hard for that cash and I am not just going to carelessly fling it about.

I don't know why but his statement made me happy inside and I couldn't help but smile at him, before taking his hand and scootching out the car seat my bum seemed oh so attached to. I'm guessing my illogical reaction was because I could tell that the man knew how hard some people worked in order to get their money and didn't take it for granted as some rich ass people do.

He led me along the path and into the reception where we were greeted by welcoming smiles which was a commodity in London. they all seemed eager to please Alex but I guess with being a multi-billionaire, it was expected.

'How can we help you sir?' the concierge lady asked Alex, looking him directly in the eyes. she oozed the confidence I only dreamed of having, internally cringing at my instant reaction when I had first seen Alex. she made me feel small and insignificant without even trying.

'Can we please get two rooms for the night, a double and a twin.' he instructed politely before walking to the nearest desk to fill in some paperwork, pulling me by the hands I a was not aware he was still holding. I was still trying to process what he had asked for, a double and a twin. my eyes almost bulged out of their sockets. Did he expect me to share a room with him or even worse, share a bed?  I began internally freaking out when I felt a hand on my arm lightly shaking me out of my thoughts.

'Don't worry your little head,' Alex said, his face leaning a bit too close to mines for comfort, amusement clear on his face, 'I'm going to be sharing a room with my driver. remember, it'll be you coming for me first.'

I felt my face heat up from my neck to the tips of my ears. 'Shut up' i grumbled as I followed him to our rooms, not even saying a goodnight before slamming my door in his face in embarrassment.

I couldn't get a good night rest at all after that incident, every time I closed m eyes and almost drifted off, Alex's smug face was present. So night came and went and before I knew it, it was five in the morning and I wanted to kill anything and everything I saw. I was in a really bad mood and to make my matter worse, it was my time of the month so I had to rummage through the bathroom cupboards looking for any sanitary towels or tampons and came up with nothing.

Externally scowling while my inside was dying I had to resort to stuffing toilet paper down my underwear while I went all secret agent and attempted to run down the hall to the public toilet down the stairs where I could buy some.

key word attempt.

'Going somewhere pumpkin?' ALex's gravelly morning voice asked me as he snaked his arm around me.

'Get the fuck away from me before I castrate you, ' I growled as I yanked myself away from him, determined to complete my mission in getting my tampons, some paracetamol and a bar of chocolate.

30 minutes later, I was sitting in the window seat of the private plane preparing for take-off happily eating my galaxy chocolate bar sitting next to a surprisingly quiet and moody Alex.

I knew I should apologize for my snappy behaviour from earlier but I honestly was enjoying the silence since I was already getting a headache from the sound of the engines preparing.

Leaning back my head against the head rest I took deep breaths trying to sooth the blood rush and my weird stomach when I felt something on my lap. looking down, I saw a pack of paracetamol and Maltesers.

Smiling I closed my eyes.
