It had been a month since we'd set off to find our family.
"Arabella!"Ambrosia called.
Arabella quickly summoned a large orb of light, her small cream colored wings were nothing short of beautiful, but they didn't hold a candle to Ambrosia's large white wings and I wasn't just saying that because Ambrosia was my Sublime. Her wings were truly a sight to behold. Arabella blasted the large centipede. It was black with an orange belly. It reeled back and let out a hiss. Zeke raced towards it and rained down punched on it. The creature hissed again and a pink beam of light shot out from it's head, I stood there as the beam raced towards me.
"Shira!"I called.
"I'm trying!"She huffed, her hands out in front of her, she tried to summon magic.
I waited and waited, but nothing ever came, I jumped out of the way of the beam and jumped onto the centipede. I raised my leg and thrust down, the beast crashed to the ground and thrashed around in pain.
Ambrosia, high in the sky, floated gracefully on her wings, she swooped in and ran the centipede through.
"I don't know how you could stand to touch that thing."Arabella cried.
"Don't you have a snake familiar?"Shira sighed.
"Zuko is different."The baby ball python coiled around Arabella's hand.
Ambrosia descended to the ground and her brilliant wings retracted into her hourglass body.
"This would have been much easier if I had my Thorned Scythe Rosella."Ambrosia sighed.
"What's that?"I asked.
"Don't remember that either?"Ambrosia seemed disappointed.
I shook my head.
"It's my weapon. It's a holy weapon, created by God and The Devil...To go along with me. Their perfect little set."She sounded bitter.
I didn't blame her.
"Don't feel bad, I'm the spawn of the Devil after all."I chuckled, I just wanted her to smile. A smile like her's was contagious and radiant.
"No..."She said flatly. "You are the love child of the Devil."She looked down at the ground. "Regardless of how your father treats you now, he loved you."She paused, trying to collect herself. "I watched you grow up. You had changed him for the better. But that through off the balance. So my father killed the woman, your mother, to restore balance."
"He what?!"I felt a fire light in me.
"I was ashamed of my father, so I went to her and healed her. I was cast out of Heaven for defying my father and he murdered her again."
"So you can bring back the dead?"Shira asked in amazement.
"I could."
"But what happened?"She looked puzzled.
"He erased my memory of learning to bring back the dead, so I couldn't bring her back."She seemed upset with herself.
"Is there a limit to how many times a person can be brought back?"Arabella piped in.
"Can we please not talk about this."Ambrosia huffed.
"How much further is it until we reach Heaven's Order?"I tried to change the subject.
"A few days until we reach the temple."Ambrosia was thankful for the excuse to escape questioning.
"Temple?"I tilted my head.
"Yes, a temple that only a Celestial can open."
"So you can open it?"Zeke eyed Ambrosia's body.
"Yes as a Goddess, I am a Celestial."
I walked over to Zeke, lifting my leg then stomping ad hard as I could on his foot.
"Sorry."I lied.
'Don't stare at my woman.'I glared, hoping he got my message.
"Ow you prick."He glared back at me, I think he got my drift.
"Stop acting like children."Shira glared her death glare.
"We should rest soon."Zeke looked at Arabella who was dripping in sweat.
"We can't afford to keep stopping so often."Ambrosia looked up at Zeke. "You don't know what it's like at Heaven's Order... It's a Hell on Earth."
"I'm sure they are fine. They'd suffered already. Not that I think they should endure anymore."Shira tried to speak her thoughts in a way we'd understand.
"Mortals tire so easily."Ambrosia sighed.
"We are Synthetics."Zeke growled.
"But you required a human embryo to be manufactured and laced with compatible dna and genes"Ambrosia stared up at him. "While you guys may not identify as humans, you are more human than I am."
"That implies you are human."Zeke smirked, he thought he'd found a crack in her argument.
"I'm not a human, I'm a Goddess...a Celestial."Her voice lowered, she was slowly becoming irritated."There is no trace of humanity in my blood. I was created in my Father's image."
"Then how come you are mixed and not Jewish."Zeke laughed.
"I don't know."She huffed.
"You are a human."He said firmly.
"I'm not going to argue with a child."Her tone became more aggressive with each word.
"It's because I'm right!"He laughed.
"Lave it alone Zeke."Arabella warned.
"No, because this beast wants to claim she is something she isn't!"
Ambrosia's eyes began flowing and she gripped his throat, her alto voice became that of one thousand voices as she spoke. "You cannot begin to comprehend what I am."
Zeke gasped for air as he clawed at Ambrosia's hand.
"We are many that reside in this body. Do not test our patients boy. You are lucky Ambrosia is as powerful as she is, lest we would have torn you to shreds by now."With that her eyes returned to normal and she released Zeke.
"Whatever."Zeke muttered coughing up blue blood.
Zeke looked at Arabella who just glared at him. He then looked to Shira who just shook her head, finally he looked at me. I wasn't gonna give him any sympathy.
"Let's get moving now."Ambrosia glared.
