We kept on walking, and I just followed in her path. She was right, and maybe it was because of the fact that I had not gotten very good sleep last night. I usually did not sleep very good, especially when I had those sorts of dreams like the one that I had last night.
That was the reason I could not focus on what it was that we were doing in the first place. I knew it was very important to Limp, but my mind was trapped in the deep and dark thoughts of the dream, and I could not just get it out of my head.
I wish that one of the starclan cats would just come and visit me, tell me that everything was going to end up being okay. Treat me almost as if I was a kit. I shook my head however, that was the reason I had that dream after all in the first place, wasn't it?
I closed my eyes, and just kept on walking and following the footsteps of Limp. If there really was something bad about to happen with the clans, then I do not think that it should only be Owl and Limp that I should be telling about all of this.
I had to warn the other clans as well... But would they believe me? They thought of starclan as a joke, they would think of my dreams like that as well. I opened my eyes, trying to shake those thoughts out, and keep on following my friend around the loop of Youngtails old place.
I noticed that we were nearly right where we had started, which was just a few tail lengths away. As we got to the place that we had started our small little quest, Limp looked at me, and for the first time that I had seen from her in a while, she showed a bit of some signs of worry.
I knew what she was thinking, and I had to think of something quick to get her to calm down and not start to panic. She did not act very nice when she was freaking out. I just did not know what to tell her off of the top of my head. I suppose I would just go with the flow, and whatever comes up, from off of the top of my head.
She had her head in a different direction, she was not looking at me any longer, she was searching around, hoping to see if she could see that roses and daisy bushes anywhere. But unfortunately if we had not seen it from the top of the fence, at a good angle, then we would not see it here.
I let her look around for a few seconds longer, and I did the same, hoping that maybe we had missed something a bit earlier... But we did not find very much luck, and I turned my head back over to my friend. I began to speak to her, trying to get her attention back onto what was going on right now.
"Mint said that it was at Youngtails old place, she probably meant that it was inside there, lets go ahead and check inside all of the places while we still have the time." I said to her. She looked at me for a few seconds, and then she turned her head back to the sun that was in the far distance.
I always wondered how, no matter how much you walked towards the sun, it never seemed to get any closer... If it was that big in the sky, then surely that meant that it was not that far away from us. Maybe it was something that Starclan had made, like the moon, it was impossible to reach.
I shook my head, and then looked at Limp, she still had a bit of a worried look on her face, as far as I could tell at least. She did not look too sure about what I had just said to her. After a few moments longer however, she began to speak back on what I had just said to her.
"I am not sure if that is so true or not, I know that Mint does not like to go into twoleg places, so why would she come into that one? Maybe she had mistaken the batch of flowers... I think we should head back to camp before it gets too late, maybe we should go and talk to Owl and Mint about your dream that you had last night." She said to me. I looked at her for a few moments, thinking on what she had just said.
I squinted my eyes and then looked up at the sun, as it was slowly getting lower and lower into the sky. I thought about it for a few moments, maybe she was right, maybe we should just call it quits, and maybe we could ask Mint to show us where she had seen the flowers earlier today.
I then thought about something completely off topic, which I then realize it kind of was on topic as I began to think on it more and more by the moment... Piper and Storm, they had needed help to save their kits and find a safe place to live, how do we know that they might need that same help as well...
I looked back at Limp, as she was just staring at the sun, as it slowly grazed lower and lower into the sky. I then made my decision, after all I was the leader, and I was the one that was supposed to make the decisions, no matter how good or bad those decisions could end up being.
I saw no reason not to at least give them a chance, they could be in some real trouble, and if we waited any longer, than it could most certainly be too late for them. I doubt that my dream was that important that it could not wait til later in the day.
"Limp, if they are really in trouble, than we should go in, and look for them, I can wait a bit longer on the dream if it is really that important to you... I think we should go in..." I said to her. She looked at me for a few moments, and then she squinted her eyes at me.
I could tell she did not agree with the decision that I was making. Which I was not sure as to why... If she was really the medicine cat, than she should think that the lives of all cats mattered. Was she overreacting when she had told me what she had dreamed about last night?
She looked down at the ground, she was clearly thinking about the decision that I was making. After a few moments of her just staring down, she looked back up at me. I could tell that she was about to say something that was going to try to change my mind about all of this.
She did not realize that I had already made uo my mind... It was set in stone at this point, and there was no changing that at this point. We did not have very many cats in our clan, so these lives would be very useful for us for one. I looked at her as she began to speak to me, but she had her head back down to the ground.
"I am not too sure this is the right decision Moon... We can ask Mint to show us where it is at in the morning, I want to get back to camp, and make sure that the kits are okay, as well as talk to the others about the dream... Plus I am still not too sure if Mint really did go into Youngtails place, she could have been mistaken." She said to me. I looked at her for a few moments, and I realized what she had just said, made sense and was also right.
I thought about it for a few moments, and I was about to tell her that what she had said was the correct call. Then suddenly my mind came back to something that had happened earlier, and I wondered how I had not remembered that happening in the first place, both me and Limp.
I looked at her, and then shook my head at her, she looked back at me, with quite a bit of a surprised look on her face to see me saying no to it. I did want to go back to camp and talk about the dream I had, I was not going to lie about that, but this seemed to be a fair bit more important to me, for the time being at least.
I began to speak to her, to let her know that she was not going to change my mind, and I had already made my decision about all of this. It was set in stone now, and there was no going back on it, nor was there a reason to go back on it either.
"No... Mint had the rose on her head remember? We need to check Youngtails place, and if we must, we can stay there for the night... Owl will take care of the clan for the time being, he is my deputy for a reason." I said to her. She looked at me, as if she was still not too sure about what I was saying was truly the right decision.
But eventually she nodded to me, and she put her head back down to the ground. Which also worried me quite a bit as well, was there something that she was not telling me about the dream that she had last night? At first she had seemed so excited to go out looking for them, but now she was so easily just willing to give up like that.
I shook my head, and then I stepped up onto the fence from where we were sitting at on the ground. I looked at Limp, seeing if she had noticed that I was ready to go. She still had her head down to the ground, but after a few more moments, she lifted her head up to me, and then she nodded to me, and she did the same.
I nodded back to her, as both me and her looked around, as if we were expecting to see the flowers like we had been hoping to see earlier. Once again we did not have very much luck, and this time I was willing to give up a lot easier than before.
Limp looked around, and then she noticed that I had given up on the hope that we would see it from the sides of the fences, so she did the same as me as well. We sat there for a few moments, and I looked back at the sun, noticing that we did not have very much longer left in the day for all of this.
We needed to get going right now, we could not push this off any longer. We were acting like a bunch of scared kits, acting like we were going to see coyotes, or wolves on the other side of one of the fences. I was a bit tired of it, but I turned my head over to Limp as she began to speak to me.
"Moon, are you sure you want to do this? If we don't find them, this would be a waste of time..." She said to me. I looked at her for a few more moments, squinting my eyes at her. I then nodded to her, we needed this to be done, I would have wanted the same for me if I was in the case of those cats as well.
She looked at me for a few more moments, but she did not say anything more, she then let me take the first steps down across the fences, I nodded to her as I looked across the first yard, but I did not see any daisys or roses, which would have made sense due to the fact that we would have seen it from further back behind us.
Limp I could tell was losing her hopes by the second, and we had barely started... I shook my head, I did not need to worry about her right now, this was all going to end up being okay for us, and we would find the cats... Starclan had never let me down before, so they wouldn't do it now.
I walked over to the fences that we could not see from far behind us now, and I noticed it right away. Limp could not see, as she was further back behind me, trying to keep a steady balance, as I had most likely gone to far, and to fast ahead of her.
As she walked across to get over to me, she looked at what it was that I was staring at, and her face began to glow up. She looked so excited, even more than she had looked when she had first told me about the dream. I now had it set in stone that she was not missing parts out from the dream.
She turned her head towards me, and she nodded to me with a big smile on her face. She then began to talk to me.
"They have to be close now! I could smell it from not too far-" she said to me. But then she was interrupted by yelling that was quite loud, and seemed to be coming directly from Youngtails old place as well. I turned my over to the voice of the loud she cat.
"Someone... My mate is really sick! Please help!"
