Chapter 18: Help Him!

I looked over as I saw Limp walking around stumbling like she usually did when she walked. It gave me a bit of a smile as well, just to see her back after the short time that we had been apart. I never did like to leave my friends alone, which is why it hurt me a bit when I found out that Kettle and Oister decided to go run their own clan.

It hurt me, because I was so close to the both of them. I got over it though, because I knew it was all a part of the plan that Starclan had layed out for us in the first place. I knew they were doing a great job when it came to leading their clan.

In fact, as Youngtail would say to me, they might even me doing a better job than I was. I did not know whether he was attacking me when he said that or not. He would always back it up with something like, "you are doing a good job though, there are just a couple of mistakes that you have made along the way."

I did my best not to get too upset at him for it either, because I knew as well, that he sure did know a lot more than me when it came to the clans. It had been a small bit his fault that the clans had fallen apart in the first place, but he had for sure learned from all of his past mistakes now.

I shook my head as I realized that I needed to stop thinking about all of that at the same time as well. I had to focus in on what it was that I was doing at the exact moment. What was that again? I was so focused on my thoughts, that I had completely forgotten what it was that I had come here to do in the first place.

I saw Limp looking up at me, and she was staring at me straight in my eyes. It kind of scared me to see Limp look like that as well. I knew that she could not do any thing to me, but it still spooked me out at the same time none the less.

She sat there for just a few moments longer, and then she looked away from me. I was still staring her down, trying to remember why I was here. Then she nodded at the 2 large cats and the 3 kits

That were in front of her. It all came back to me in the exact moment.

I remembered why I was here now. I saw the 2 cats that I had remembered the names of as well. Shilo was the main one, because she was the cat that had been talking to us in the first place. She had her head up, and she was looking around a bit confused, mainly because she had just woken up as well.

The other cat that was with her looked as though he was wide awake, and it came as a bit of a surprise for me at the same time as well. This was the cat that was supposed to be the one that was so sick? I looked over at them, and I almost wanted to throw the herbs into the trash.

I did not do that however, as I saw that Limp was looking up at me, and she was waiting for me to walk over to the rest of them. I looked down at the herbs that were in my mouth, and then I nodded to myself... I should not be biased off of my first impressions.

I then hopped down from the fence, and then began to walk over to them at the same time. I saw all 3 of them then turn their heads over to me at the same time as well. I got a bit fluttery as I saw so many cats looking at me at the exact moment.

I shook my head, wondering why I was acting like that at the same time as well. I was the leader of my clan, I was used to having to step up in front of a bunch of cats. This was nothing to me. I shook my head and then I kept on walking to them.

I saw the kits begin to move around, and I looked over at them. Shilo noticed me looked at them, and she turned her body to where I could no longer see the kits. She squinted her eyes at me at the same time too. I could tell that she still did not trust me quite yet.

It was understandable as well. I knew how she cats were when it came to protecting their kits... I wondered if Mint was going to be like that when we had our kits too... I closed my eyes at the same time as well, as I even wondered if we were going to have kits based off of the way things were settling in for the clan.

We were never around each other any more, and I sometimes even wondered if she even considered me her mate. She might even be speaking to other cats in the clan as we speak. I shook my head, trying to clear out all of those thoughts at the same time.

I knew that both of us were madly in love with each other, so there was no way that was going on. I then kept on walking to the cats that were staring me down. I shivered at the same time as well, but I kept on walking over to them.

Limp looked at me for a few moments, and then she looked at the herbs that I had in my mouth for just a couple of moments, as she then began to look at them, just to make sure that they were in fact the herbs that they were looking for at the same time.

She stared at them for a few moments, and then she looked up at me and then began to stare me into my eyes. It got me a bit nervous, though I knew that I should not be, because this was my friend, and I was also the leader of Windclan as well.

We looked at each other in the eyes for a few more moments, and then she lowered her head, and began to nod at me as well. I sat there for a few more moments, as I waited for her to tell me that it was the wrong herb... Then she finally began to speak.

"How did you find it Moon? I know you do not know that herb... Did Shadowclan find a medicine cat?" She said to me. I looked at her for a few more moments, and then I nodded thankfully to myself as well. I had feared a completely different out come than what had just happened.

I looked at her, and then I nodded to her this time, as it was sort of true what she had theorized in the first place. I then realized at the same time as well, that I had still not spoken a single word to the rest of them either. I sat there for a few moments longer, until I finally decided to speak my voice.

"Well... Not exactly, but there is a cat that knows a lot about herbs, that I think would fit that role as well... It is just that... Well..." I had begun to say to her. I then stopped myself, as I realized the cats that were in front of me, they had no idea about anything that was going on amongst the clans.

If I in fact did want them to join the clans, than it would not be a good start to tell them that there was a cat that had the intent of starting a war with other clans. Especially since one of the cats had just given birth to some kits not too long ago.

That would not be good to for them to hear if the in fact did have the plan on joining in to our clan. I was quite sure that Limp had told Shilo quite a lot about Windclan at the same time as well, probably to give them an idea of what it was like to live in the clans, and what were the benefits as well.

I then payed attention to what was going on in front of me at the same time as well. I saw that Shilo, and her mate Steve were very confused as to what it was I was talking about, and I looked over at Limp and saw that she had her head tilted to the side, as I could tell she did not know what it was that I was talking about either.

She had been like that for quite some time now, until she realized that I was done speaking my part in all of it, and she nodded to me, as she sort of got the jest of what it was that I was getting at in the first place. She looked at me in the eyes, and then she began to speak to me.

"Is this something that only I should hear about?" She said to me. I looked at her, and then I looked at the cats that we were with at the same time. I was glad enough to see that they were not scared at all at the exact moment. They more or less, just looked like they were confused as to what it was that we were talking about.

I looked away from the cats at the same time as well, as I in fact was a slight bit scared for all of the clans. I did not like the looks that were in store for the future of the clans. I made sure that they did not see the look on my face, as I could tell that Limp could see the look that was on my face however.

She saw the look, and then I saw that her face then began to look quite a bit worried at the same time as well. I knew that she did not know what it was that I was exactly thinking, but she could tell that it did spell trouble for the future of the clans.

I looked at her for just a bit longer, and then I stepped up for her, as I began to speak back to her at the same time, prepared to get out of speaking distance from the other 2 cats that were with us at the same time as well. I nodded to her as I began to speak at the same time as well.

"Yes... It could be good, and it also could be bad..." I said to her. I looked at the other cats that were with us, as I feared that I might have said too much at the same time as well. Thankfully though, it seemed to be that they had no clue what it was that I was getting at as well.

It made me feel a bit better as to the chances that we had to them coming into our clan in the first place as well. The last thing that I needed to show them, was that the clans that they were in fact planning on joining, were already planning on starting wars with each other at the same time as well. That would lead to a bad first impression to the them too.

Me and Limp looked each other for a few moments, and then I looked over at the cats that were with us at the same time as well. They looked at me for a few moments, and then they nodded to me to go ahead and do what it was that I had planned on speaking to Limp about.

They did not know what it was that I was going to speak to her about, but it was good to see that they already had respect for my decision to speak to her privately as well. It made me feel a slight bit better at the fact that I was the leader of my clan as well.

Though they might not be a part of my clan quite yet, it was good to see that they had at least some sort of respect for me already. I then looked back over to Limp, as I saw her nod to me at the same time as well.

We sat there for just a few more moments, as I finally decided to make to first move to go over to a secluded area so that we could speak to one another in silence. I heard her foot steps behind me, as I knew that she was right on me tail as well.

Once I found a small spot that seemed okay, from the other side of the yard as to the other cats at the same time as well. Limp looked at me and then she found a comfortable spot to sit at as well, she then finally decided to speak to me after the few moments of silence.

"What is it Moon? Is it Dust? Has he stirred up trouble again?" She said to me. It was almost as if she had read my mind on what it was that I was about to say to her. I also then realized at the same time as well, that it was not hard for her to realize what it was that it might be about.

The fact that she had said trouble again, had told you all you needed to know about that cat. He was not a very good cat to have in a clan in my eyes, and I wished that Kevin could come to his senses as well. At least he was not a good choice to have if you wanted him to be the deputy of your clan.

I blinked a few times, as I realized what was going on around me, as I was so lost in my head at the same time as well. I saw that Limp was waiting for me to respond to what it was that she had just asked me. I looked at her in her eyes, and then I nodded, before I then began to speak up to her.

"Yes... He might have started a war with Skyclan... At least, they attacked them and took over a part of their land... I found a cat that is going to be a medicine cat, this is what I mainly was getting at... It does not seem that Dust wants him in Shadowclan though." I said to her. She looked at me for a few moments, and then she lowered her head to the ground.

I knew that I was not the only cat that did not like Dust very much. It seemed that his own clan was not a very big fan of him either. I wondered how long he would last as a deputy... Maybe he would get over himself at some point, though I had little doubt about that as well.

Limp stared at me for a few moments, as I could tell that she was not questioning me at all, it seemed more that she was questioning Dust. I was not too sure about him, and now I kind of regret making Kevin the leader, simply due to the fact that Dust was the deputy of Shadowclan.

Limp then lowered her head to the ground. I knew that her judgement was going to be biased no matter what, because it was a medicine cat. I just wanted to hear what she was going to say, because I knew that it was going to make me feel better about my own thoughts as well.

Limp finally lifted her head up at me after a few more moments, and then she stared me down at the same time. I wondered what it was that she might be thinking right now, surely she was not on Dust side on this right? It did not make hardly any sense to me as to how it could be so. I listened to what it was that she had to say to me anyhow.

"There is not much we can do about all of that... It is smart to have him be the next medicine cat, and we just have to hope that the deputy and the leader accept that as well... That is all I can really say about it..." She said to me, just after a few moments of silence as well. I looked at her, and then nodded, it was short and sweet what she had said, and it was also in fact not biased at all.

She sure had grown up a lot when we had first met her that day, starving in the woods near the lake, wondering if she was going to meet her brothers and sisters wherever it may be that they would go since they did not believe in Starclan.

I hoped that some day she would get to see them again as well, after she passed on. Obviously they would not be in Starclan, but maybe there would be some sort of way she would meet them up there, just like when I was able to speak to Tristan as well.

I stared there for a few moments longer, as me and Limp both realized that both of us were drowning in our thoughts at the exact moment. We both knew that it was not a good idea, especially when there were cats that needed us right now, like the ones that were on the other side of the yard with us.

I looked up at me friend, and she did the same for me as well. We stared at each other, dead in the eyes for just a few moments, and then she nodded for me to speak whatever it was that could be on my mind at the exact moment in time as well.

I nodded back to her thankfully... It was what a leader, and a medicine cat were there for in a clan. You were supposed to go to either one of them, if you did not want a completely biased answer, or if you had something that you needed to get off of your chest, or vent about.

I sat there for a few more moments, as I listened to the silence, besides the crickets that were chirping in the background. A lot of cats in the clan hated hearing that at night, but to me it was peaceful, and it made it seem like I was in a real home...

Something I had felt like I had never felt before now, up until this point as well. It made me feel good, and it made me feel safe. I loved the cats that were in my clan, and I would risk my life for every single one of them if it came down to it as well.

I closed my eyes as I tried to shake all of it off, and focus on what it really was that I was going to say to Limp in the first place as well. I looked over at my long time friend, and then I nodded to her, letting her know that I was just about ready to speak as well. She looked up at me, and then she nodded for me to speak to her too. I finally decided as to what it was that I was going to say after a few more moments of the peaceful crickets that were chirping in on the background.

"Limp... I am very worried about all of this. So many cats do not believe in Starclan, and I don't want the clans to end up like they did last time... I don't know how to get them to believe in Starclan..." I said to her. It was a completely different thing than what I had really planned on speaking to her about.

I was originally going to vent to her, all of my frustrations about Dust, and my worries about what might happen to the clans with him as the deputy... But I then realized at the same time, that it should not be the main concern to me at the moment either.

It did not matter what Dust planned on doing, if the clans did not believe in the after life, and they did not believe in the starclan cats, than it would lead down to the same path that happened to us before... I closed my eyes in quite some pain, as I was not sure how me, just one cat, could change all of that.

I then lifted my head up at me friend, as I then heard her begin to speak back to me after the few short moments of silence, it made me feel better that the silence had finally broken away from the air at the same time as well.

"Moon... That is why Youngtail is here... There was a time where he did not believe in them either. He will not leave us until his job is done... Your job was lead us here, but this is not your job anymore... You've finished your part, and now your reward is us..." She said to me. I looked at her for a few moments, as she expected me to talk, but after I did not, she then continued as to where she had left off when she was speaking to me. "I am proud of you, and you are a great friend that has taught me a lot... I think you should go hunt for all of us to get your head off of all of this, we are all hungry."

I looked at her for a few moments, and then I felt my stomach begin to rumble at the same time as well. I did not realize hoe hungry I was until now, and if Steve was not in condition to hunt, then I wonder when was the last time that they had eaten as well.

The looked very skinny as it was, and I nodded to Limp to put that on my next step of a to do list. She nodded back at me, and pointed to the top of the fence that was in front of us to go ahead and head out over there. I looked at it for a few moments, and then I went over it and hopped over.

Once I was on the top side, I looked around, and enjoyed the cool air that was flowing on me. It was about to get very dark, so I knew that I had to hunt very soon as well... I was just about to walk to the edge of the fence when I heard the loud voice of Shilo began to yell.

"Its happening again! Limp! Please help him!"
