Chapter 44

Bakugou was standing at the window in the kitchen, his hands buried in his pockets and a strangely gloomy expression on his face. The light tapping of footsteps was audible, then a certain someone entered the room. A certain someone with curly black hair, spiteful ashy green eyes, heavy army boots and the most contemptuous expression the world had ever seen.

"Why are you running away from me, Kacchan? What's up all out of a sudden?" Midoriya stopped a few steps behind Bakugou, a vicious grin on his face. Bakugous eyelids dropped half-shut, but his aura didn't change at all. "I'm just overthinking my damn life choices." Midoriya chuckled. "I didn't know you could think."

"You generally don't know a lot, do you?" Bakugou spat those words at the ground, somehow making the impression he was scared to say them to Midoriyas face. Midoriyas grin remained, but his eyes narrowed almost indistinguishably. "Maybe not what a normal 17 year old should know, but…" He went up to Bakugou and turned his face towards himself. "I know everything about you. And my knowledge says you're lying, or at least only telling half the truth."

Bakugou avoided Midoriyas eyes. "Will you really stay forever?" Midoriya raised his eyebrows. "Why? Did you get attached?" Bakugous tense expression just made him laugh. "Oh come on. You know I'm just teasing you. Your reaction is just too satisfying." Bakugou stared at the floor. "That's what it's always about, isn't it?"

He ran his hands through his spiky hair. "Your gluttonous desire for satisfaction. You're fixated on the fact that my actions and reactions satisfy you, and you'd do anything and everything to make me be satisfactory. If I keep playing along, won't you salivate for even more? Like you're addicted to a damn drug? Wouldn't you want to get more out of me? How far do you think would you take it?"

Bakugou kept talking, despair washing over his face. "If I told you I need your sadistic dumbass more than I need to breathe, wouldn't that make you leave? Solely for the satisfaction of seeing me suffer?! Or would you stay here to keep using me? You're fucking unpredictable and it's wrecking me!" Midoriya had listened with a stoic expression, now he chuckled quietly.

"Maybe you should take me as an example, because you're really everything but unpredictable. We had a deal, remember? A vow, an agreement, call it what you want. Anything and everything for the eternity. I'll stick to it. I have no intentions to leave, especially not after yesterday. Be grateful I'm saying this, because it diminishes my unpredictability."

Midoriyas mood suddenly switched to bubbly. "Ah, lighten up, Kacchan. Are you always this gloomy when you're lacking affection?" Bakugou growled. "Affection?! This isn't about fucking affection!" "Yes it is. That's what it's always about when it comes to you. You want people to admire you, look up to you and in my case, love you."

Bakugou flicked his tongue. "Tch. You're fucking delusional." "And you're a liar." Midoriyas face was turned away from Bakugou, but his dismissal was ponderable. "Of course all humans lie without a second thought, including me, but that changes nothing about the fact that I FUCKING HATE LIARS!"

Midoriya was pissed off. His ablaze eyes brushed over Bakugous shocked expression quickly, then he faced the window again with a sulky expression. "Why do I even put up with you in the first place? Maybe I should actually just leave you to suffer. It's not like we had anything on each other anymore." Bakugous head snapped towards him. "What?!"

Midoriya chuckled, hopped onto the counter below the window and hovered over Bakugou in a bird-of-prey-like position. "Predictable. Did you really think I'd lose my cool? You're so easy to deceive…" He stood up and stretched his arms. "Ahh, feels great being taller than you for once!"

His eyes suddenly locked with the camera and he seemed to stare directly into the two viewers eyes. His mouth puckered into a virulent smile, then he turned back to Bakugou, who had turned his back to Midoriya. Midoriya hopped off the counter, put his arms around Bakugous neck and his head next to Bakugous.

"You know, we can do something about the lack of affection." Bakugou tensed up under Midoriyas touch. "I don't know if that feels right now." "In the end, it always does for you." "Tch." Midoriya chuckled at Bakugous dismissive reaction. "Tsundere much, are you?" Then he softly bit the rim of Bakugous ear and let his tongue travel over the bite.

Bakugou stiffened, while Midoriya took a step back and waited for the short-circuit. It came. Bakugou turned around with a growl and pulled Midoriya towards himself by the collar. "You think you can do something like that and get out unscathed?!" Midoriya grinned, satisfied with the result. "I just didn't want to make you do something you don't want to do."

Bakugous breathing was unsteady. "You should listen to yourself some time. You sound like some cliché manipulative bitch." "Oh please, don't act like it didn't work. We wouldn't be here if it didn't." Midoriya gestured dismissively. Bakugous shoulders dropped. "You're really fucking unhinged when your head is free."

Midoriya just grinned, provoking Bakugou even more. The spiky blonde scowled. "You know what, I've had enough of you. Actions, not words." Then he threw Midoriya over his shoulder and went towards the kitchen door. Midoriya snickered. "Are you kicking me out again?" "You wish I fucking would. I feel more like using you too."

Midoriya had gotten what he wanted. He threw a smug little smile at the tiny camera before they left the room.

Kirishima and Kaminari just sat there, thunderstruck by what they had had to experience just now.
