Chapter 18: Talk

"W-what? Are you s-sure about that?" stuttering, the nurse asked. I swear to god that she almost spit rainbow because Lucas talked to her. I even noticed she was a little panicky while stealing glances at me.

"Yes. we will go now," he said with his serious voice. He held onto my elbow to assist me outside the clinic. I wiggled my arms so that he will remove his hands and when he felt my protest, he immediately let go.

I heard Allanis thanked the nurse before tailing us outside.

I tried my best to not look at Lucas because I know he is staring at me. I just looked at my friend who is now holding my Kate Spade bag.

I got it from her hold. I was shy. I didn't even remembered I had my things. Wait... Did I brought it while I got out of the cafeteria?

I opened my bag to check if all my things are there. My sketchpad, check. MY pencil case, a book, and my journal. I immediately blushed when I remembered what's inside it but I shrugged it off. But one thing that's not there was my phone. I started to panic when I couldn't find it.

"What are you looking for?" Allanis asked me when she saw my reaction.

"My phone," I said as I tried to look for it on my pockets. It's not there!

"You mean this?" Lucas raised his arms and on his hold, was my phone with its blue case and my airpods hanging as a key chain together with its yellow fluffy ball thingy.

"you left your things, including your phone in the cafeteria,'' he explained.

I snatched it from him and checked if there was any notification. i then inserted it inside my pocket, leaving the chains hanging outside.

"So how? I need to go back to class. Will you be fine?" Allanis asked me.

I almost forgot that classes aren't yet finished. My heart warmed when I realized that my bestfriend skipped classes to check on me. That's all I ever wanted in a friend. Caring and sweet. But that doesn't mean that I liked her for skipping classes or what. I just don't want to come a time where we'll be strangers who knew each other's secrets someday.

"Hmmm... Alright. Thanks for checking on me, though, you don't really have to,' I smiled at her sweetly.

I glanced at Lucas, debating with myself if I should talk to him or not. In the end, I just started walking, leaving him behind.

"You know, you should detach your pods from your phone," He said as he followed me behind.

"You don't care," I crossed my arms.

And because my legs are short, he caught up with me easily. He actually got pass over me so I had to walk faster to pick up his pace.

he noticed it so he slowed down. He then realized that I was walking towards the school gate so he grabbed my hands and pulled me towards the parking lot.

A black Audi then alarmed in front of us. It was his. It looks so new with its shiny features. He opened the shotgun door for me but I refused to go inside.

"I can commute," I said as my eyes never left his clean interiors.

"I know that but I can also drive you home, you know," He smirked.

I sighed and just decided to go inside since I don't want to argue anymore.

the scent of him attacked my nose as soon as I was in. He closed my door and he then proceeded to walk towards to the other side. His eyes met mine as soon as he got inside the driver's seat.

"What?" I asked.

My eyes widened and I backed when he went close to me. Our nose was inches apart now and I swore I can now feel his breathe in my lips. He even tilted his head as he got closer and closer. I just stayed eyes closed until I felt him manipulate something beside me.

"Seat belts," he said.

I opened my eyes and he's now sitting properly after he finished putting on my belts. He was smiling so wide while my eyes became wide open. What the heck?!

He started his car as we went out of the school premises. His expression remained the same and I was quiet the whole ride, out of shame and dismay. He too, didn't spoke.

I just realized that we were home when his car entered its gate.

he stopped it at our rotunda, just right in front of our staircase leading to the porch. I got out of his car and just before I close his door, I also saw him went out of the driver's seat.

Inside our house, I saw Jerich walking towards us, brows furrowed.

"Hi baby," he said his usual greeting before greeting the guy behind me as well.

"I see you took my sister home, huh?" he said.

"Yes and I was wondering if I could have a word with her? We need to talk." Lucas then gave me a stare.

Even though I was surprised at his statement, I continued to walk upstairs. I didn't bother to hear my brother's response too. I just hoped he didn't allowed Lucas, knowing how strict he is.

I went upstairs and put my bag in a near desk. I threw my phone on my bed before going inside my bathroom to take a warm shower.

After, I wore black shorts and a plain maroon blouse. I arranged my necklace before slipping on my white slippers then i went downstairs.

I actually wanted to spend time on the entertainment room but I saw Lucas on the couch while talking with my brother. My brother tapped Lucas' shoulder and went out as soon as they saw me.

I watched him as his eyes went down on my shorts. I shot my eyebrow up and just ignored him and went straight to the entertainment room. I felt him follow me. But before I close the door, his big hands blocked it.

"We need to talk," he said in his deep, hoarse voice.

"There's nothing to talk about," I said coldly as I just let him inside and casually opened our television. I just decided to do my home works later after I ask Allanis about it.

He sat on our couch as he watched me select a good movie.

"Why did you left?" he continuously asked.

I'm sure he knows the answer to his question. If not, I'm so close to throwing the remote control I'm holding to his face. I didn't answered.

"Why did you cry?" That was his question that made me frozen. I looked at him. His expression was unreadable. I made sure mine reflected it.

Why does it matter to him? As far as I know, he never cared about me or my feelings so why did he want to get answers to that question? What is that to him? Will he be happy if I answered his question?
