I opened my phone as I decided to ask where he was. Despite the doubt that's growing within me.
But as I was about to type, I almost flinched and scream when a guy talked out of nowhere.
"Looking for me?" I turned to Lucas who is smiling and had his hands inside his pocket.
"Jesus, Lucas! Don't scare me like that!" I stated as I held on to my chest. I just rolled my eyes at him when he laughed at me.
"I'm sorry. I was in the back door. I was just wondering if we could study there instead," he said as he walked away first.
The back door he was talking about was not literally like the fire exit types. I walked back near the stairs because beside it was a big hall where the high ceiling was. Big paintings were also on the walls.
And in between those are doors leading to different kinds of rooms including the entertainment room.
At the end of one door is a huge glass wall, and that is the back door. Then adjacent again to the last door was a skittle machine.
I'm totally obsessed with that candy so my brothers decided to install them here.
I decided to get a cup of it before following Lucas again.
As you enter the door, there's a flat mini bridge and beside it is flowing water designed with colorful shrubs.
Then, the bermuda grass and the different types of flowers near the glass barricades.
I saw Lucas turned left so I followed him again. He sat on a rattan chair so I sat on another one on his opposite. In between us is the coffee table where his things were.
This is my favorite spot in our home, actually. The bright city is overlooking. I have a patio upstairs on my room but I find it more peaceful in here.
I wasn't satisfied sitting on the chair so I got a throw pillow and placed it on the grass for me to sit on.
I felt Lucas did the same.
We started to do our own works quietly. It was so easy for me to do all those tasks but one thing that I left was Mathematics since I'm not good at it.
And because I don't care about it, I just started observing Lucas.
He looks very serious as he wrote notes on his notebook. His handwriting is very manly too.
And from what I remember, Allanis told me that he's good in academics and from the way I see it, I think it's true.
Even though I didn't thought that he is this studious because whenever I see him around campus, all he ever do is be with his friends and girls.
I never saw him grace the hallways with books in his hands.
I closed my eyes tightly and shook my head when I realized that I was drooling. I even tried to pumch my head lightly and tried to understand my subject.
"Need help?" Lucas then asked.
I looked at him and his attention was all on me. He even stopped whatever he's doing just to hear my response.
"N-no. I'm fine," I said and tore my gaze off of me.
Then I felt him beside me. I stiffened.
"Sure you don't," he said teasingly.
I sighed and just gave up. I know he knows I need help.
"Besides, we're friends now, right?" What the hell? Do you really need yo pin point that out?
I know! I know we're friends!
Heck!
But otherwise, I agreed. He taught me the hardest subject that I have ever studied my whole life!
And to my surprise, I admit he's a pretty good teacher. From the way I see elit, he aces his subjects very well.
But me being me, I didn't understand a thing.
Not because I lack braincells to understand what he's explaining me quickly, but because I'm too preoccupied with our closeness.
His manly scent kept on attacking my nose. I can't contain the warmth he's giving me because of our closeness too.
Even if I tried to focus my eyes on my notebook, it kept on traveling on his big hands that's over it.
And whenever my eyes looks at his face, I can't help but to look at his expressive eyes, down to his narrow nose, until I stare at his lips while it move with every word that's coming out of it.
His voice is also music to my ears. I'd like to hear it again and again even though I lost comprehension on what he is saying to me.
I tried to understand, alright. But I'm just really so distracted. I'm trying because I'm so intimidated by the idea that he knows his academics so well.
While me, I'm just plain stupid. Plus the fact that he always has his girls and friends with him, he's still friends with his studies.
I wonder why...
"Jiana!" he snapped his fingers infront of me. I came back to my sensesand I quickly shook my head.
He observed me with creased brows. "Did you even get what I said?" he said, anger dripping on his tone.
"I-I'm sorry... I j-just... Uh," I can't find the perfect words. How can I explain that I'm spacing out without telling him my reason? Fuck.
"Just what?" he raised his brows in anticipation.
"I spaced out," I finally said with my little voice.
He sighed and nodded. "Let's try that again,"
I looked at him, amused. I have no idea how long he explained me all of these works but I feel like it's a long one. And the thought that he's willing to start all over again because of my stupidity, amazed me.
He has that kind of patience. To teach me again even though he didn't have to. After all, it's my fault that I didn't tried hard enough to focus.
This time, I listened. Not just because I want now to learn, but also because he's teaching me. Again.
It took us half an hour to finish. I must admit that I'm a fast learner if I am bery well focused. But I still have to answer some problems. He helped me with it and corrects me if I have mistakes.
When I was finally done, I cleaned my things and put it all inside my bag. I flopped myself on the cozy chair while my eyes traveled on Lucas.
Damn. He really looks passionate about his studies! I saw how his brows were creased while scribbling on his own notes.
I stood up. He lifted his gaze on me, as if confused why I stood.
"I'll get some snacks," I smiled before leaving him there.
As soon as I got in inside, I walked towards the pantry to get some Doritos and Cheetos. I then ran towards the refrigerator to get some cans of softdrinks.
I then got back and placed all of it on the coffee table. Lucas looked at me before looking at the food I brought.
My eyes then went to the little cup of skittles he's holding because I noticed he was chewing while holding his pen. He looks so adorable!
"Midnight snack, huh?" he smirked.
My cheeks heated and checked the time on my phone and saw that it's still nine in the evening.
Why did I thought that he will stay longer? Who knows, he might just want to finish his requirements before heading home?
Why am I thinking that he'll stay after he's finished with his studies?
"Uhh, you can take these home instead if you're heading home now," I pointed at the snacks before his books and papers.
He laughed before getting another candy from the cup.
"Nahh, I'll stay until 10. Unless you want me to go home right now?"
I immediately shook my head and my cheeks turned red again. I don't know whether if I wanted him to stay or go home now, why I shook my head!
I went inside the house again, put of embarrassment. I didn't looked at him especially when I heard him laugh at my reaction!
I ran the distance from the backyard to the kitchen to get some cold water to drink.
Gosh. Maybe now he's thinking that I want him around when this morning, I just ran away from him! He maybe thinks that I am now being aggressive? I hope not!
