Accident

-----Eight years ago------

Henry's P.O.V.

"Henry, what is the meaning of these? Your school has called me a few times. They said that you didn't attend the classes ever since the first day of class." My mom exclaims on the phone call. She sounded pretty mad at me.

But I never mind her reprimand. I only pull the phone away from my ears and throw it to the bed. Honestly, I don't care about what my parents will say to me ever since that day when they forced me to continue my study in London.

It was an excellent plan made by them for me to end my two years of relationship with Olivia. My parents didn't like her because of her family. They felt disgusted at her presence every time I invited her with dinner at my house and treated her viciously.

But for me, Olivia is such an innocent and kind woman. She is the only one whom I can trust and share my problems with her.

I walk towards the table beside my king-size bed and grasp the photo frame. My heart sunk as I kept staring at the photo of Olivia wearing a simple but elegant dress paired with the earrings which I gave to her during her 17th birthday and standing beside me.

Her porcelain skin, kind smiles, and cheerful laughs, I missed everything about her.

-----Flashback--------

"Olivia, let's break up," I say impassively. She looks at me with a horror face and covers her mouth from gasping shockingly. Her brown eyes started to become teary.

When I am about to walk away, she suddenly grabs my wrist tightly. "Henry, please!" Tears continued streaming down on her face, which ruined her makeup.

However, no matter how hard I tried to hide my emotions and feelings deep inside of me, I don't want to see her becoming like this. I clench my hands into a fist and feel my nails dug into my skin in frustration.

I push her hand away from my wrist before she could speak something to me. "It's over, Olivia. I cannot do this anymore. Please be happy and continue fulfilling those dreams of yours." I say pathetically and walk away from her.

As I kept walking away from her, I couldn't help criticizing myself. I shouldn't tell her about those harsh words. But still, I need to do this for the sake of her.

"Henry, please!" Olivia shouts sharply. I could tell that she is crying. It makes my heart overwhelmed. However, I keep on walking and pretend not to hear it.

The only wish that I've been praying for is your happiness, Olivia. Please be happy and become a famous actress. Because when the right time comes, you and I will meet again.

-----End of flashback--------

It's been five months since we broke up, but I still can't forget her. My mind couldn't stop thinking of her. Olivia's parents sent her to Italy to continue her study and career as a famous actress.

"Henry! Henry! Are you still listening to me? Henry! Goddammit!" I resurface from my deep thought as I hear my mom cursing on the phone call with an irritation voice.

I take the phone from the bed and pull it near my mouth. "Yeah, yeah, I get it, Mom. You don't need to remind me every time. I am fucking twenty years old now. I need neither of your reprimand nor your shits of advice. So, goodbye." I say sarcastically and unmannered way.

I immediately hang up the phone and throw it to the wall, which causes the phone to shatter into pieces. I don't want my parents to control my life again.

After a few minutes, my other phone ring, all of a sudden. It is my friend, Allen, calling my phone. "Hello, what's up, man?" I answer the phone call.

"Henry, want to have fun tonight?" He asks. I could hear the background noise from the phone. A wicked smile forms on my face. "Sure! Where will we meet?"

"Same place as ever. See you then." He replies and hangs up the phone.

For the last three months, I've been staying here and decide to waste my life here in London. I met new friends and spent time with them in the bar where we first met. They helped me to cope with those new things to me.

Frankly, they are my classmate at London Business School, a prestigious and lavish school in college where people came from a wealthy family usually attend. However, we decided to be rebellious and didn't join the courses ever since the first day. We are uninterested in joining classes.

I jog towards my huge and extravagant closet in excitement. There are collections of branded clothes, varieties of shoes, and accessories lined up in my closet, which usually made me feel confused about what I will wear.

Finally, after a few minutes of choosing a variety of designed clothes, I found perfect and suitable clothes for the party. I wear fashionable cutter jeans paired with a white t-shirt and denim jacket. As I capture my reflection in the mirror, I suddenly realize how cool it is. "It's 7:34 pm. I should go now," I mumbled to myself.

I immediately jog towards my garage, where my BMW i8 car is currently waiting for me. I start the car and drive it to a top speed of 120 mph on the usual route. Thankfully, there has no traffic on the main street. I turn on the music and sing along the song.

Speedily, a motorbike tremendously crashes the left side of my car, which causes the airbags to burst out. Fortunately, nothing happened to me inside the car.

I get off the car and inspect the enormous damage on the left side of my car. I feel mad and overwhelm because, honestly, it was my first time experiencing this kind of accident. Besides, this car is my favorite among the nine vehicles that I have. I just bought this car last week and used it for the first time today.

I suddenly remember the motorbike's driver. The motorbike splintered into pieces due to the great collision. Then, the driver probably somewhere here and might have numerous injuries.

I turn around and locate the driver unconsciously lying on the ground. He was wearing a black helmet and gears. So, he presumably has some slight injuries.

People started to encircle around the driver, but no one dares to touch or ask him if he is alright. They only watched him and kept murmuring around.

"Call an ambulance!" I shout at them and walk instantly towards the driver. Someone called the ambulance at once. "Hey, are you alright?" I jolted his body for him to wake up.

I suddenly notice how delicate his body is. It seems that this body is more fragile than an average man's body. I gently take off the helmet from his head and quickly gasp at what I perceived.

It is a girl with auburn hair and alluring beauty. She has white porcelain skin and a lovely face though, there are some scratches on her arms and face.

"The ambulance is finally here!" Someone suddenly shouted. I snapped out from my mind and heard the sound of the ambulance coming towards us.

The paramedic immediately examines her condition and put her to the stretcher. That girl and I were sent together to the nearest hospital.

The specialist doctors from different areas appear in my room to check my well-being. "Mr. Thompson, it seems that you're alright. Theres no sign of concussion and injuries in your body." The chairman of the hospital says while holding the result of the test. I lay down the bed and play around the IV drip in my hand. "All you need to do is to rest for a while." He added.

I turn my head to face them. I could see the anxious within their eyes. "Do you know what I hate the most? Ordering me around," I say with a cold voice, which causes them to sweat all over their faces in nervousness. They are totally an eyesore.

"Get out!" I exclaim. Their body gets tensed for a while and strides outside the room without any hesitation.

"Henry," Someone suddenly knocks on the door. It is my personal assistant, Steves, a mid-forties man with white hair. My father let Steves assist me ever since I was twelve years old and until now.

He walks inside the room while holding a laptop. "Henry, there's something you need to see." He places the Macbook air laptop on the small table and plays the footage. It was when the motorbike suddenly crashed into my car.

However, I notice something as I kept repeating the footage. That girl crashed into my car when there is another way to prevent the accident. It seems this accident is not as simple as I can think.

"Have you investigate this case?" I ask calmly.

"Yes, and I found out that nothing's wrong with her motorbike." He replies and gives me the files.

"Are you saying that she intentionally hit my car?" I tilted my head to stare at him. Steves didn't reply to my question. Instead, he only kept on silence while staring back at my eyes.

"Where is she right now?" I rise and pull out the IV drip from my hand. "She is in room 405." He answers calmly. We immediately walk towards the said room.

If that girl intentionally hits my car so, she must be a golddigger. She dared to mess up with me.

As I grab the doorknob and open the door, she isn't in her bed. I turn my head to find her in her room, but she is nowhere to find. "Find her!" Steves immediately grabs his phone and orders my men to locate her in the hospital.

Strange, if she is a golddigger then, she expectedly stay here for a while and ask an immense amount of money from me. Did she feel scared of realizing the things she did to me? I asked myself and wandered around the room.

All of a sudden, I noticed a letter on the table beside the bed. I took it and read what's written on the paper.

"I apologize for my sudden disappearance today. I wrote this note to ask forgiveness for you about the accident earlier. It was completely my fault. As my apology, I paid your hospital bills."

The note she wrote for me left me speechless. I couldn't believe everything I read. Steves suddenly appeared behind me.

"Henry, she is not here anymore but, she already paid the hospital bills, including yours.

"Find everything about her," I respond and turn around. "Let's go," I stride out the room and walk to the elevator.

Such an interesting woman.
