Viola P.O.V.
Early in the morning, I could hear birds singing while standing on the ground. People outside the store started to grab a taxi and took a bus ride on their way to their destination.
I placed my head above the table and closed my eyes for a while. I could feel the coldness on the surface of the table. My eyes and head feel so hurt from staying awake for the entire night. I really wanted to sleep on my bed.
It's been days since I started to do a full-time job in the convenience store, where I've been working. Furthermore, I couldn't attend classes. But still, I need to do this to save more money. A few days ago, I spent almost all of my savings on taking my responsible for causing an accident. I felt so guilty about it. I couldn't even meet the owner of that car who saved me. I heard that he is a wealthy man from a prestigious family. He probably saw my face at that time. I hope that we will never meet again.
"Viola," Someone abruptly patted my shoulder. I immediately sat straight in a quiver and saw who it is. It was an adult man in his mid-forties with a long beard, the owner of the store, and my boss. He is wearing a coat, simple jeans, and a large T-shirt.
"Goodmorning, Sir. I'm sorry for slacking around." I greeted and felt so nervous at his presence. He abruptly laughed uproariously. "It's okay, Viola. By the way, aren't you going to school? I heard you're studying at the London Business School."
I couldn't respond to his sudden question. He placed his hand on my shoulder and considerately stared at me. "Viola, you should attend school. It's an expensive and prestigious school in London. You can't waste that chance for yourself."
He was right. I shouldn't ruin this opportunity at this moment. Otherwise,
I stared back at him and nodded in agreement with an assured look. "You can go now." He smiled gently. "Thank you, Sir." I immediately took off my uniform and grabbed my jacket and bag. "Bye," I waved my hand to him and strode outside the store.
It's still 7:38. I still have 22 minutes before the class started. However, the street is too traffic. The taxi couldn't get through due to the sudden accident. It left me with no other choice but to run towards the school.
As I finally arrived at school, I quickly decided to go to my classroom. It's already past 8:00 am and, now I'm late in my class, but I still need to attend it. Honestly, it took me more than 30 minutes to arrive at the school.
"I'm sorry, Ms. Jones, for being late," I said while gasping hard as I swiftly open the door. I viewed Ms. Jones glaring her at me as she saw me. I could tell that she is enraged at me for being absent during her class.
"Ms. Miller, you've been away for five days without telling any valid reason. We'll discuss your sudden absence later after the lunch break together with those newcomers." She said and took a glance at those students who seem to be new in her class.
"You!" I suddenly noticed a man standing at the center of the way and uttered something. He looked at me like he knew me.
"Pardon? Do I know you?" My brows knitted in a frown. But, he didn't answer and gave me an unrelenting stare. I sensed something peculiar about him. Although, students around him can't stop imploring their eyes at him.
I stared back at him and scrutinized him from head to toes. I could tell that he is from a wealthy family, the way how he poses and wearing expensive clothes. Actually, he is a good-looking man. His alluring grey eyes, perfectly sculptured jawline, well-built body, and six-footer's height, Everything is perfect in him.
Someone abruptly coughed loudly, which causes us to be distracted. We turned around and saw Ms. Jones standing in front of us. "Ms. Miller, Mr. Thompson, would you please go to your seats right now. You two are distracting your classmates from my discussion." She yelled. Their attention focused on us, including our classmates.
"I'm sorry, Ms. Jones." We both apologized. That man immediately walked towards his seat. I turned my head around to find any vacant seat.
"Psst!" I turned my head to see who it is. But, it turns out to be unexpected. It was him. He waved his hand at me to offer a vacant seat beside him. I didn't mind him and continued looking for any chair. "Ms. Miller, please sit down. You can sit beside Mr. Thompson." Ms. Jones pointed out the chair beside Thompson.
I don't have any other choice but to sit beside him. I slowly walked towards him and took a glance at him. He smirked wickedly in triumph to me, which made me feel annoyed.
I sat down and took out my books and notebooks for note-taking. I ignored just like a thin of air and gave my complete concentration to the discussion.
"Hey," He pulled his head closer to me and whispered. But, I continued ignoring him. "Hey," He kept on nudging me until Ms. Jones noticed us.
"Ms. Miller, Mr. Thompson, I have quite enough the two of you. Get out of this class. I don't like naughty students in my class!" She shouted while pointing her finger at the open door.
I bit my lips in frustration. I feel so irritated but still trying to hide it. Other students stared at me with an insulting look. I grabbed my bag and walked out of the room. I walked through the hallway and tried to ease my anger.
"Hey, wait!" That man shouted and walked after me. But, I could feel my blood boiling in my veins as I hear his voice. I halted quickly and turned around to face him. "You successfully got me out of Ms. Jones, and now what. What do you want?" I queried. My voice sounded irritated and rough due to extreme exasperation.
"You," He moved his head closer to me and snickered audaciously at me.
"Listen, you annoying boy, You're really getting on my nerves. Stop acting like you know me. You probably don't even know my name, and we've never met before. So, stop distracting me. Much better if you stop talking at me, or you try to avoid you." I spoke aloud to make him hear it loud and clear. "Mind your own business!" I said before continue walking away from him.
But he seized my wrist abruptly and caused me to feel upset. I turned around, and my body tensed as he moved his head closer to mine and gave me an unyielding stare.
"But. I have a business with you." He smirked viciously. Seeing his eyes made me feel astounded. We stayed gazing at each other till the bell rings.
"Oh, Viola!" I resurfaced from my deep insight as I heard my friend's voice. She jogged in excitement towards us and noticed that man beside me. I instantly let go of my wrist forcibly from his tenacious grip. "Did I interrupt your conversation?" She questioned in cluelessness.
I turned around my head to face my friend and smiled faintly at her. "No, Jasmine, I think your timing is fabulous. Let's go to our next class." I acted as if nothing happened unusual between that insane man and me.
I wrapped my arm in Jasmine's delicate shoulder and drove her away from that man. "Wait! I haven't introduced-" I cut her off by putting my finger on her mouth. We continued walking away from him.
I took a glimpse at him in the corner of my eyes and noticed him smirking.
"Hey, Viola, is he the new student? He is so attractive." Jasmine giggled softly while taking a glimpse at him. Her adorable face started to blush in red. Her eyes can't stop ogling at him. "Do you like him?"
"Nope," I responded and stared back at her. "Stop it, Jasmine, otherwise," I smiled wickedly at her, expecting her to know my main point.
"Okay, okay, you're such a cunning woman though you're my best friend." Her teasing face shifts into nervous, and she sighed defeatedly. We continued walking in the hallway and get through the crowds.
"So, can I ask of what happened with you? I heard you got reprimanded and kicked out by Ms. Jones." She queried. I guess she must be shocked by hearing it since it's my first time kicking out by the teacher.
"It's because of that guy. He let me get involved in his business, which caused Ms. Jones to get mad." I sighed to ease my anger.
Within those grey eyes of him, I saw audacious and dangerous characteristics despite his good-looking figure and well-built body. There are too many daredevil and malicious schemes among those perfect and alluring smiles. It makes him so outrageous and unpredictable, and yet no one ever notices it except me.
"It's much better if I should stay away from him. Or else,"
Or else, I will be in trouble.
