Chapter Four

" are you ready?" Isis asked as they stood at the door to the throne room.

Nefertari manged to nod finding her voice had died in her throat and no matter how hard she tried to clear it her voice just would't come out Isis gave a gentle smile and lead the way in that's when felt all eye's go on her and the music that had been playing stopped, she made sure to keep up with Isis but she also glanced around the throne room it was truly grand and she thought she spotted Mana out of her corner of her eye giving a quick wave and manged a slight smile her way, then her eye's traveled to the throne she saw that Mahad and the other's were standing along side it along with Shimon that's when her eye's fell on the one sitting on the throne, and she felt her cheeks feel warm and she was sure that she was blushing as she looked at him he looked to be about the same height as her or maybe a little taller she could't tell also he stood out just as much as she did with those crimson eye's of his which matched the crimson tips of his spiky hair though his blond fringe made his features even sharper also some of it shot up into the black spikes making them almost look like lighting bolts he was dressed in a short tunic that stopped above his knee's and he had golden coloured band around his waist which matched the one's on his arms and leg's also the earrings and she could just make out the crown on his hair line the other thing she noticed that he to had an item that looked like a upside down pyramid made from gold.

"Pharaoh may i present to you Nefertari" Isis said stepping away once they were at the foot of the throne since it was raised a little and a few steps were in front of it.

Shimon had told him a little about this women when he entered the throne room before Mahad came to get the other priests to meet her and now he was getting to see her for himself Shimon had been right she was beautiful and her crimson red hair and pale skin only made her more so but it was her eye's that captured him he had never seen green eye's before and they stunning, and a part of him could't believe that someone like this would be his wife and queen and he could't stop a small smile from showing something told him that she would be a great queen though at the moment she looked scared half to death, he stood and walked over to her she was just a few inch's shorter than he was and as he got closer she bowed her head to him he chuckled a little lifting her head.

"i'm glade to meet you Nefertari" he said.

"..and i'm glade to meet you Pharaoh.." she said trying to keep the shakiness from her voice also she had to fight a blush when she heard his baritone voice.

" a lovely voice to go with a lovely name" he said taking her hand and place a kiss to it.

"and if i may ask your name my Pharaoh" she said her voice had lost some of it's shakiness he smiled and lent close to her ear so she was the only one who would hear him.

"it's Atem though meany do not use it or they don't know it but i wish for you to use it Nefertari so i may never forget it" he said.

"a fine name for a Pharaoh" she said back.

He chuckled and offered his arm to her she linked her's through his and lead her out onto a balcony that over looked the whole village and she was shocked to see how large the village was and that all the villagers had gathered outside the palace cheering when they saw their Pharaoh stand before of them he let go of her arm as he walked forward and raised his hands to silent the villagers for the moment so that he could speak to them, then he turned to her and held out his hand to her again and some how she manged to make her feet move and she joined him and all eye's were on her again something she was going to have to get used to.

"i give you the future Queen of Egypt Nefertari" he said.

The whole village cheered which made her blush so badly that she could't fight it or hide and she waved to them and it only made them cheer loudly and it was't long before Atem was leading her back inside to an even warm welcome and she could't help but smile at everyone and enjoy the music, sure being raised by the other women and Panya along side the other girl's there had been moments where they did something like this but never on this scale she sighed a little as she sat with Atem the Pharaoh and her future husband she knew that she had a lot to learn, but even though she was scared she believed she could do it just like everyone else she had meet so far believed she could, it was't in till later and thing's had started to calm down that she started to feel how tired she was the whole day had taken a lot out of her and she had to fight to keep her eye's open which did't go unnoticed.

"Nefertari would you like to retire for the night?" Atem asked looking at her.

"...i think i may have to..i'm sorry it's just been a lot to take in and..." she said.

"no need to be sorry it's been a very long day" he said helping her to stand.

"Pharaoh is everything alright?" Shimon asked walking over to them.

"yes Shimon .... Nefertari is just tried" he said.

"shall i call one of the slaves to take her to her room?" Shimon asked.

"no i will" Atem said Shimon nodded then bowed before he walked away.

Nefertari had to fight an other blush that was trying to fight it's way on to her cheeks as she walked arm in arm with Atem she guessed he was holding onto her like this so she did't fall since she was having trouble with staying up on her feet, she also put it down to having some wine she would of felt rude if she had turned it down since the welcome celebration had been for her she glanced at Atem he was rather handsome no one had told her what he looked like, and she guessed it was an other reason why she could't stop blushing around him his eye's glanced her way and she quickly looked away trying to keep her cheeks from going even redder than they were already and she tried to remember which hall's they went down so she would't get lost every time she left her room or went back to it, they soon came to a stop and he pushed the door's open and she walked past him into a room that was just as grand as any other in the palace.

"do you like it?" he asked entering the room as well.

"it's lovely thank you" she said looking around it.

"i'm glade though it will only be your room for a while in till we'er husband and wife" Atem said.

When he said that it made a shiver run down her spine but it was't unwelcome it was true once they were married they would share the same room and the same bed, but in truth that was an other worry of her's since she had never been with a man she was worried that she might not be able to please him in that way and no man had ever seen her well that way, she had to put her hand over her heart since the whole thought running through her head she was sure that it would come out at any moment she looked over at Atem when she heard him chuckle a little and he walked over to her taking her hand and placing an other kiss to it with a smile that would make one women melt at the knee's.

"i did't mean to fluster you Nefertari or laugh i was just thinking how more lovely you look when you have a blush on your face and just so you know i have't been with a women either so were in the same boast there" Atem said.

"but..what if i.." she said.

"you could't even if you tried" he said.

She did't know what to say to that but the thumping in her chest had calmed down a little she was't sure if it was because of what he said, or that it was just him which ever it was she was glade and she could feel the heat in her cheeks fade a little and she manged to smile at him he cupped the side of her face and she had to admit she liked it, he wished her a goodnight sleep and he soon left her alone in her room where her thing's had been placed in there for her, she walked over to the large bed and laid down on it she had never felt anything so soft before and she lost the fight to keep her eye's open anymore and she ended falling asleep in her dress since she was even to tired to change and she was sure she would be even more tired in the days to come with everything she had to learn about being a queen.
