Chapter Nine

Nefertari found it hard to open her eye's at first but when she did she almost did't know where she was but when she felt an arm tighten around her waist she glanced over her shoulder and could't help but smile as a blush came to her cheeks seeing Atem fast asleep right next to her his arm was wrapped tightly around her she guessed he must of held onto her through what was left of last night, and her smile only grew she was half expecting to wake up screaming after what nearly happened to her but she had't and knew why Atem had promised her that he would make those blood thirsty eye's and that touch of those hands go away and he had he had replaced them with his touch and his kind eye's by making love to her she felt her whole body heat up reliving it and she could still feel where he had touched she flinched when she touched the part on her neck where he had been kissing it was a little tender he had marked her there, she sighed and her smile got bigger she had never been this happy before and she did't feel any different after making love to him it was as she sat up that she felt the slight pain it was't as bad as she thought it would be she manged to move from the bed without waking Atem and walked to the balcony after finding a sheet to wrap around herself and unlock the door's and was almost blinded by the sunlight when she stepped out onto the balcony enjoying the feel of fresh air on her skin along with the heat.

Atem's eye's had snapped open when his arm tightened around thin air and when he looked expecting to find Nefertari next to him she was't there he looked around the room then saw the balcony door open and he moved quickly his heart skipping a beat out of her but it soon calmed down when he saw her standing there enjoying the fresh air and the sunlight and she had a sheet wrapped around her, he found he could't look away her crimson hair caught in the slight breeze he walked up behind her and wrapped his arms around her and she did't jump this time instead she lent into his body enjoying his warmth as he kissed the top of her shoulder which moved to her neck.

"good morning Atem" she said with a chuckle to her voice.

"good morning to you to Nefertari...i wandered where you went" he said.

"i did't want to wake you just so you know you look very innocent when your asleep my Pharaoh" she said.

"now you know i'm not so innocent" he chuckled into her ear.

"after last night that's very true" she said.

"sleep well though did't you" he said she turned around in his arms to face him.

"yes i did...because i thought of only you.." she said.

"good" he said.

They enjoyed their embrace and the view together they only stopped when people's voices could be heard from the other side of the door Atem sighed he had told the guards not to let anyone in he lead Nefertari back into the room and she sat on one of the chairs while he grabbed a sheet himself and wrapped it around his waist due to the voices starting to get louder than had a second ago, so he did't have a chance to slip his clothes on which were still on the floor along with her nightgown she watched him from where she was sitting and as he pulled the door open she spotted Mana looking frantic so it had been her voice they had been hearing through the door.

"Pharaoh! Isis told me what happened is it true that Bakura and Marik were in the palace and they were in Nefertari's room?" she asked.

"She's alright Mana" he said trying to calm her down.

"but i could't find her" Mana said.

"she's with me has been all night" he said he glanced at the guards who glanced at the ground he could't help but think they must of heard them during the night.

"i want to see her...why do you have a bed sheet wrapped around you?" Mana asked finally noticing that he was't dressed and his hair looked very ruffled.

Nefertari could't help but chuckle as she heard Mana's question and Atem trying to explain why he was like he was that's why she moved from her chair she could't let him deal with this on his own plus they had nothing to hide right sure they were't married yet but there was nothing against it after all they were in love with each other and she smiled as she reached the door and stepped out from behind Atem she almost burst out laughing when she saw the look on Mana's face when she pointed at her then at the sheet wrapped around her then back at Atem.

"i'm really ok Mana and it's rude to point i hope you know" she said Mana's shocked looked vanished and was replaced with a grin that was rather large.

"so with you all night" Mana said.

"Mana.." Atem said with a sigh when her grin grew when Nefertari blushed "i know you came to see if Nefertari was alright but is there any other reason your here?" he asked with a raised eyebrow.

"hmm oh yes Mahad and Seto have returned they asked me to come and get you" Mana said.

"i'll be with them shortly also can you have some food sent to us and come back straight away"Atem said after a glance at Nefertari.

"oh of course Pharaoh..glade your ok Nefertari" Mana said with a wave and rushing off as fast as she could as Atem lead her back into the room.

"why did you ask Mana to come back?" she asked watching Atem.

"because i don't want you to be on your own not after what happened with Bakura and Marik and i'm sorry to say that we wont be going ridding for a while in till they are dealt with it's to dangerous also my room will be your room as well from now on, that way i can keep you safe and while i'm at meetings i'll know your safe also you'll take your lessons here from now on" Atem said with his back to her.

"Atem...i know your worried and a part of me is scared to death about Bakura and Marik..but you can't just lock me away.

"I'm not locking you away i'm trying to keep you safe" he snapped at her making her take a step back from him he pulled her to him when she did that by catching her wrist as she stepped back then wrapped his arms around her "please do as i ask Nefertari...if anything happened to you i would't know what to do.. please.." he mumbled into her skin nuzzling her neck.

"ok i'll do what you ask" she said.

"i love you" he said cupping the side of her face.

"and i love you" she said back.

Nefertari sighed looking up from the scroll's that Shimon had brought to her and she had shared the food with Mana who had been with her so she was't alone and Mana had made it fun and even tried to help her with her lessons though Shimon got a little angry after she nearly set one of the scroll's on fire, she still chuckled at it but she could't help but worry a little about Atem and the danger that Bakura and Marik would cause even though he worried about her safety she worried about his, because if they could get to her then they could get to him even with Mahad and the other's protecting him.

"Nefertari your worried about the Pharaoh are't you?" Mana asked walking over to her and sitting in the other chair.

"it shows that much" she said.

"well yeah but you should't worry he knows what he's doing" Mana said.

"i hope so" she said with a sigh.

"ok we need to get you out of this room" Mana said jumping out of the chair.

"but he wanted me to stay in the room" she said looking at her.

"well being locked in this room is making you sad and worry and that's not going to help him or you so i don't think he would mind if i was with you we're not going outside of the palace but maybe a trip down to the kitchens and grab some apples then head to the stables, get some fresh air in your lungs though i guess there's the balcony for that" Mana said.

"you know what that sounds fun" Nefertari said standing.

"also we can have a good talk along the way" Mana said taking hold of her arm.

"oh about what?" she asked with an eyebrow raised at her and that smirk.

"you know about what" Mana said.

"i am not talking about that" she said unable to keep the laughter from her voice while they walked down the hall.
