Chapter Seventeen

"Nefertari...wake up"

She smiled when she heard that baritone voice since she knew who it belonged to and who she was using as a pillow still she opened her eye's and found herself looking into Atem's crimson eye's and her smile grew she and she could't help but brush some of his blond fringe from his face he caught her hand and covered it with his also placing a kiss to it, she had to admit to herself that she still could't believe that had been chosen to be his wife and queen and that it was all some sort of strange but lovely dream she hoped to never wake up from, though she frowned a little when the thought of Anzu kissing him slipped into her head and even though she knew that, Atem said he would make sure she was't at the celebration of their unborn child she could't help but worry even if she was going to be gone by morning with her parents Atem seemed to be able to remind her mind and bushed some hair away from her face and had the softest look she had ever seen.

"don't worry about Anzu i said i would deal with it and i will" he said.

"i know it's just ..women like her are used to getting their way" she said.

"not this time i love you and this little one" he said placing a hand on her stomach" and we really have to get ready other wise we'er going to be late to the celebration and i still have to talk with Apa and Kana about their daughter" he said helping her to get up.

"but we have nothing to change into after all this is shimon's room" she said looking around remembering where they were.

"not true he came in a few times to see how we were i was wake the last time he came in and he had some clothes in his arms but since you were still asleep i did't have the heart to wake you in till now here these are yours" he said handing them to her she took them she put them down for a second and watched him what caused him to stop and look over his shoulder at her.

"something wrong?" Atem asked.

"not at all just enjoying what other's can't" she said with a raised eyebrow.

That made him chuckle and he went back to changing his clothes she loved that laugh after a few moments of watching him she moved from the bed and started to get dressed herself though she could't help but feel eye's on her and she glanced over her shoulder and saw him watching which had him raising an eyebrow her way she could't fight the blush that appeared on her face, and tried to keep her mind on getting ready, Atem could't help but to watch Nefertari get ready the dress that had been chosen suited her and showed just how stunning she was it was made from a fine blue silk that was blue as the early morning sky and it trailed over one shoulder ad had golden beads that followed also just above the waist also the dress seemed to wrap around her and cover her other arm just above the elbow but still allowed her to move and with the necklace he had given her she was more breathtaking than ever also she allowed her long crimson hair to be down he had never really seen her do that before apart from when they were in bed together also he had't missed the fact that the dress showed that she was with child since she was showing a little he could't help but smile putting the puzzle back around his neck.

"so how does it look?" she asked walking over to him.

"like a goddess" Atem said.

"your a sight yourself my Pharaoh" she said wrapping her arms around him from behind he chuckled rubbing her arms.

She was't lying he was something to see he was in a full black tunic which had a red flap at the front and back held in place with a golden band around his waist and he wore his normal golden bands and earrings that went along with the crown he wore also a red cloak around his shoulders she soon let go of him though when the door's to the room opened and Shimon entered happy to see them both awake Atem quickly told him that he had to speak with Anzu's parents before the celebration got started and asked him if he could take her there ahead of him he bowed saying he would he looked back at her and she gave a little wave before he left and she followed Shimon to the throne room.

"are you alright now Nefertari?" Shimon asked walking next to her.

"i am yes the Pharaoh manged to calm me down" she said smiling at him.

"i'm glad i did't like seeing the future queen sad like that" he said he jumped when she linked her arm with his.

"your very sweet but i'm ok and sorry about being sick in the hall" she said.

"Aknadin had it cleaned up and he's been worried about you as well while you and the Pharaoh rested he told me what he more or less guessed what happened" Shimon said.

"Anzu kissing him" she said with a snip to her voice.

"yes he saw the Pharaoh push her away" he said.

"well..can't say she did't earn that" she said.

"indeed my dear" he said.

They entered the throne room and she could't help but think it looked more grand than the first time she saw it the fine drapes that lined the wall's the long tables on each side of the throne room which had all sorts of food laid out on them also the center of the throne room was open for music and dancing later, as her eye's traveled around the room she spotted Isis and Mahad off to the side them seemed to be enjoying some time together and she had to admit they made a lovely pair also she saw Seto speaking with Aknadin who both looked her way and she waved to them and both bowed also Karim and Shada did the same Shimon lead her to her throne so she could sit and said that the Pharaoh would most likely be with her soon also he told her that other guests had been invited and she could't help but ask him who he told her that they were some other nobble people they trade with from time to time also some entertainment had been arranged for everyone to enjoy and she could't wait to see what that would be also she spotted Mana after Shimon went to speak with the other's she waved her over and Mana soon rushed over to spend a little time with her.

It did't seem that long before Atem joined her on his throne also she had spotted Apa and Kana walking in behind him she had waved to them but they simply looked away and when she looked at Atem he told her that they were a shamed of what their daughter had done also she could't help but notice his voice sounded a little husky like he had been shouting which he told her he had been doing since Anzu was not happy about being made to stay out of the celebration even more so that she was in trouble with both her parents when he told them what had happened but she would't have to worry about her tonight or after since they would be leaving in the morning and she could't help but smile at hearing that though she wanted to tell them that she would be more than happy to see them again just not their daughter so she got up from her throne and made her way over to them.

"Nefertari you look lovely" Kana said when she reached them.

"thank you i wanted to tell you that we'er more than happy for you to pay a visit any time" she said.

"we thank you for that Nefertari it shows what a great queen you'll make and we are so sorry for what our daughter did she was raised better, than to act like that and it's just as bad that it happened in front of you" Apa said bowing.

"anyway enjoy yourselves i must rejoin the Pharaoh" she said.

"of course" they both said bowing.

She made her way back to Atem when she was back with him she meet some of the people Shimon had told her about and she greeted them and spoke with them for a while along with Atem and soon people were watching the entertainment, and rather enjoying it she was as well and after that was all done and some food had been eaten she had a little more than she would of done which did't go unnoticed by Atem though he did't say anything but smiled at her she blushed a little well she was eating for two now though her blushed darkened when music started to play and Atem stood holding a hand out to her she took it and he lead her out to the center of the room she had never been a good dancer Panya had always had a go at her because of that she just never could flow with the music but with Atem leading she did't have that problem and they were soon joined by other's and she could't help but forget all she had been worrying about like not being fit to be queen or the Pharaoh not wanting her though she knew by now that he did also that this marriage might of been a loveless one though again that had been cleared up for her and she no longer thought like that also about Anzu since she would be gone by morning and she could forget about Bakura and Marik for the moment though they were still out there somewhere but just for this moment she only wanted to think about Atem and how happy she was even more so due to the child she was carrying which only made the smile on her face grow.
