Chapter Twenty four

Atem watched as Seto and Karim dragged Bakura's and Marik's men out of the hide out in chains he had been hoping that Bakura and Marik had been here and not just those who worked for them but no such luck and it was unlikely they knew that they were coming, but it was a good thing that the one's they caught were more than happy to talk saying that Bakura and Marik had gone further along the Nile looking for an other place to steal from and so on so it looked like they would't be heading back to the palace then he looked up when he heard a falcon cry before it landed on Shada's arm it had a message wrapped around it's leg he watched Shada unwrap it and read it for a moment before a look of fear appeared on his face.

"Shada what's wrong?" he asked.

"my Pharaoh....it's queen Nefertari.." Shada said.

Atem cursed under his breath and took off before anyone could stop him (though they followed behind him, leaving the guards with the one's they caught) why could't Nefertari just stay put he had told her before that it was dangerous, to go out beyond the palace wall's while Bakura and Marik were out there though he could't blame her for wanting to go outside after all she had spent her whole life behind wall's never allowed to go any where and being chosen she had been granted that, he closed his eye's and prayed to the gods for her to be alright if anything happened to her or their unborn babies he would never forgive himself, but he knew Nefertari was strong more than anyone he had meet but that still did't stop him from worrying as he made Aten move faster.

Nefertari sighed once inside of a cool hut Kisara lead them into once they finally reached the village she had told them about she could't help but smile when she sat on the bed taking the weight off her feet it felt like they had been walking for days even her pale skin had become burnt a little since there were some red patches but she would alright she glanced over at Mana who was panting herself but a smile showed glade to be out of the heat and the same look showed on Isis faces, Tanis seemed happy about it as well and he had stopped growling he hopped up onto the bed next to her and licked her hand making her chuckle, she then looked at Kisara who looked a little pink herself but seemed alright she was a very sweet young women a few times as they walked she had asked if she was alright since it was clear that she was pregnant she also did the same with Isis again very clear why and for Mana, even Tanis seemed to like her since a few times he would let her pet him.

"Kisara are we safe here?" Mana asked looking over at her.

"i think so after all they did't seem to follow so it could mean we were't noticed plus Tanis seem's to be calm now" Kisara said.

"that's true but no one knows were out here" Mana said.

"i'm sure Aknadin and Shimon will think something happened since we were't meant to be gone this long i'm just sorry i did't have the vision before hand" Isis said.

"like you said to me Isis it's not your fault and if you had we might of not meet Kisara and i'm glade we did" Nefertari said.

"that's very kind of you to say...my queen" Kisara said.

"Nefertari please....." she said wincing in pain.

"are you ok?" Kisara asked seeing her double up.

"oh for the love of Ra you've got to be kidding me!" she growled as she gripped the sheets on the bed making Tanis move from the bed, Isis was quickly by her side as was Mana and Kisara "my..waters just broke....the babies are coming..." she said through her teeth.

"oh Ra Isis" Mana said panicked.

"Kisara can you find some fresh water and some cloth in the village and Mana you help her take Tanis as well" Isis said.

"of course Isis" Kisara said heading for the door.

Mana looked back at Nefertari and quickly held her hand which made her smile back at Mana and grip her hand letting her know that it was ok and she was with Isis after all Mana gave a weak smile back before hurrying over to Kisara Tanis seemed to torn but followed them after Mana called to him and they were soon gone Isis helped her to move further up the bed she was on putting the pillows behind her back while she told her to keep her breathing as steady as she could.

"guess you were right about avoiding stress...." Nefertari manged to get out.

"that's why i said it my queen but something's can't be helped like walking for as long as we did in the desert and the heat did't help matters and fearing that those cloaked people were going to see us and seeing what happened to the guards did't help either" Isis said she frowned a little as a sad look showed on her face "my queen what's the matter?" she asked though she knew what it was.

"i want him here.." she said trying to keep her breathing steady.

"i know.. but i'm sure Shimon would of sent word to him about us not coming back, and knowing the Pharaoh he'll be looking" Isis said taking a hold of her hand.

"how do you know that?" she asked.

"because it's something Mahad would do" Isis said sadly.

"when your baby come's Isis...you wont be alone..we'll be right by your side just like you are with me" Nefertari said.

"thank you" Isis said.

Mana and Kisara hurried through the village looking for what they needed with Tanis growling at anyone who asked to meany questions though he did cause them to have to run a bit through the village when he stole a well made basket that could hold fresh water from the well that was in the middle of the village but they manged to lose the person chasing them, Kisara got the water while she and Tanis went to find some cloth Isis asked for it took a while but she found some even though the person who was selling it wanted a lot for it though she got it for free when Tanis growled at him showing some rather sharp teeth and she could't help but chuckle as the man shoved different coloured cloth at her and she and Tanis were hurrying back to Kisara who had plenty of water, and they made their way back to the hut Tanis leading the way but when they reached the door he stopped lifting his ears for a moment and started barking like mad at first she thought it was those people that burned Kisara's village but the way Tanis was acting he was happy to see them and before she could grab him he dashed off to them.

Atem had followed the Nile as far as he could and it did't take him or the other's long to find where the boat was or the village that had been all but burned to the ground or some of the murdered villagers which did not improve his mood, or the empty ship and he had started to worry that they had either been killed or taken and that thought had gotten stronger when they found the guards that had been with Nefertari, but those thoughts left his mind when Seto called out about foot prints leading away from the village along with a dog's foot print and they followed them, he was stunned that they could walk this far both Nefertari and Isis were with child but their foot prints kept going in till they reached an other village he prayed that they were there, as they started to head towards it and he heard barking at first it seemed just like a normal dog in till he saw Tanis heading towards him and started jumping up at Aten and still barked like mad going to the village a short distance then back to him he got what he was doing and they followed him in till Mana and an other women came into view both holding thing's which meant one thing and as he thought that a pained cry split the quiet of the village.
