Chapter 6

"Fine! We will kill her, in no time." Carter's muffled voice sounded through the closed door, and my heart skipped a beat.

Kill her? About who is he talking about? And why is he talking about killing someone?

"You are being ridiculous right now, you just met her yesterday! What the fuck would you probably want from her?" he said, then stayed silent.

Oh my God, is he talking about me? I highly doubt he isn't, but I can't help thinking it's me. I covered my mouth so that my harsh breathing wouldn't be heard and expose me, and put my ear close to the door so I can hear more.

"In return?" he asked, then silence again.

"Fine, then where would I burry her body?" My eyes widen and I staggered backward as if someone pushed me. No, this can't be happening. I don't want to die. I have dreams to chase, goals to reach for, they are surely talking about me. And I should get away from them.

"What the fuck Scott? Give me the phone," I hear Cole say "Listen you cranky guy, if you ever want her, you should go through us first, which you never will, loser. " he said and I hear a startling bang on the door.

I quickly leaned on the wall and crouched down. I think I better reveal myself and act like I heard nothing than they find me and think it's better to do it here quickly and easily.

"What is wrong with you, Scott? So, killing an innocent person would solve this mess you got us into?" Cole shouts.

"Are you this dumb, bro? I was trying to put them on the good side!"

"By killing-"

"Can you stop saying that? Of course, I don't want her to get killed!" Carter says.

"Why the change of heart suddenly? You wouldn't have cared, right?"

"Well, correct me if I am wrong but you are the one who likes her."

"Bro! wait.... do you actually...?" Cole asked, his voice teasing. Carter's response was a sharp slap on the skin, ouch. Poor Cole.

"Ow! What the fuck?"

"I won't ever get along with her, let alone like her. " Carter says and Cole laughed.

"Yeah, sure," Cole says and there was another slap.

I stood up from the place I crouched and barged into the room. Both Cole and Carter got startled and looked at me wide eyed.

"Kate! You came! You really have a cat's footsteps, you know when a cat walks in and you don't know, but then they did," he laughed nervously and looked at Carter, scratching the back of his head.

"Yeah, I did," I said and stepped more into the room.

The colors and the theme of the whole room are not, matched in a great way. The color of the walls are cream colored, and the walls are black. The floor is wooden colored and clothes are scattered all over it.

I looked at Carter, who is unsurprisingly looking at me. He looks annoyed, of course, I came here, that's why.

"I told you to stay in the car," he said coldly.

"Well, you guys took time to come in." I retorted. He folded his arms across his chest and looked away from me, "You should listen to what I tell you to do."

"You are always bossy, aren't you?" I replied with that, sending a glare his way.

"For people like you, yes." he said.

Dang this guy and his hurtful words.

"You don't have to be this rude, dumb boy." I snapped at him.

Cole comes to my side and puts his arm on my shoulders. I tensed, what does he think he is doing?

"Scott is moody in the morning, so ignore him," he whispers loudly into my ear, making sure Carter listens to him.

"In the mornings? Please, he is always like this" I said and Cole snorted.

"For sure," he said smiling.

"I think we should go now," I said, making Cole drop his arm from my shoulders. He pouted and made a strangled noise at the back of his throat, but then he cleared his throat and pointed to his legs.

"Let me wear my pants." he said and went to pick up the pants. Is he...oh my god, how lovely. I quickly turned so I couldn't see him changing in front of me.

"Oh, sorry if it bothers you, I am used to eyes on my bare self," he says and I gagged, eww.

"Cole," Carted said as if saying it for the hundredth time.

I took my phone out of my pocket and looked at the time. I made an audible gasp, it is a god damn eight past forty! We are so late!

I quickly turned around and looked at them masking a panicked face.

"Guys, we are so late to school! Come on let's go!" I yelled and raced down the stairs and to the front door. When I look behind me, they are not here, what the hell...

"These idiots, I swear to God..." I muttered under my breath as I rushed and stomped to the room. When I barged in, they were looking at me with entertained looks on their faces.

"What are you waiting for?" I asked them, trying to keep my cool.

"Well," I cut Cole off "Let's fucking go now! You are fucking r-"

"You two shut the hell up and stop being a headache," Carter snaps and swiftly passes me.

"Get moving, Cole," I said sternly and turned to walk downstairs, again.

"Be quicker please," I whined at Carter as he starts to drive off.

"Geez, girl, calm down," Cole says.

"Excuse me? It is a school day! Maybe your school is so carefree about you being late but my school has very strict rules, Cole." I tried to explain with my best attitude, and it made Carter laugh.

"Damn, you are good at exaggerating, huh? Do not forget, I am at your school too," he said.

I huffed and crossed my arms, laying back in my seat and resting my head on the window.

"Okay, don't tell me you are going to be silent the whole ride," Cole says, shifting to look at me.

"Nah, I am good." I said closing my eyes, praying the gates won't close this soon and get in trouble.

I hear a hard slam on the brakes and suddenly, I am thrown from the seat of the car, making me accidentally bite my tongue and almost crash to the seat in front of me, that Cole is sitting on. Then in a second, I am forced back to my seat.

"What the heck, Scott! Do you have any loose screws?! You made me bite my tougne, ow." I yelled, when I touched my tongue and look at my fingers, blood, I bit my tongue too hard it's bleeding.

"Fuck, and now it is bleeding," I said, fighting the urge to scream out of frustration.

"Bro, why did you do that?" Cole yelled too.

"I was trying to refresh both of you, hype you up to yell at me," he said sarcastically, or more like tried to be sarcastic. I reached, bunched my hand, and hit his arm as hard as I can.

"This is for you very stupid mindset." I said. He slowly turned to me, looking as if I did something that is shocking.

"What? Drive!" I said, putting my hands on his cheek and turning his head to the front. He slowly turned back and looked at me, then narrowed his eyes, "Do not do that again" He said, trying to be threatening.

I snorted, finding him funny, "Oh no, my majesty, never again." I said mockingly. He rolled his eyes at me, but gladly, continued driving.

"Where is your school, Cole?" I ask him, is Carter driving us to his school, I hope it's not, because we are already late.

"Redsey high," he said, this name is familiar, I heard it somewhere from someone, I don't remember who, but I know I definitely heard it.

"Scott was there too," he added, confirming my thoughts. Right, Carter mentioned it, when he was presenting to the class.

"Are we there, yet?" I asked, Carter sighed and said nothing.

"Are we there, yet?" I asked again, just to annoy him. He ignored me.

I cleared my throat and this time, I practically yelled, "Are we there, ye-"

"Yes! Finally we are here!" he cut me off and shouted. He pulled in front of the school gates, which were closed, no!

"No, no, no, no, no... " I kept repeating as I quickly got out of the car and stood in front of the school gates and try to open it. Yep, it is closed, locked.

There is this stupid rule at my school, if I came after the gates are closed, then there is no way they will be opening it, but I should try my luck today, I can't be marked absent, I can't distort my achievements by being absent today, this cannot be happening, not today.

"Looks like it is locked," Carter said, standing beside me, smirking. This guy... he did that on purpose. He made us get here late so much that he pissed me off. Well done Carter, you perfectly did it.

"You could have done anything, like literally anything else, but this? Out of all the shitty things you could do, you chose to make me late for school? What the heck is wrong with you??" I yelled hitting him with my bag, which he effortlessly blocked.

"Chill, I did not even think of that, and besides, there is a good thing to do now," he said, making me stop my pointless hits. What in the world could be a good thing to do if I'm not allowed to enter the school?

"What?" I asked, looking at him suspiciously, "Speak up, what?"

"Skip school and have fun."
