Chapter 7: Into The Maze

I stood in front of a beautiful fountain whose gushing waters sounded soothing alongside the night. The sky was starry and inviting of a new adventure. Harper, however, was running late and I began to fear he might not show up at all. Maybe asking him to break the rules was a little too much to ask.

A soft tap on my shoulder promised to erase my worries away. I turned around to find Harper, his eyes brimming with happiness.

'You were cutting it a little close there, Prince', I chastised him lightly.

'I'm sorry. I couldn't get out of a conversation about the table seating for tomorrow's event. But I am here now, shall we?', he said and offered me his arm. I took it whole-heartedly and he led the way towards the garden.

'It's really beautiful out here', I complimented as I enjoyed our stroll.

'The maze and the roses were my mother's vision. I like to think of it as her little heaven here on earth. Sometimes when I stroll this garden, I think of her.'
