024 | disastrous tea

Diana was going on her way home, but she didn't expect to see Natasha. She noticed that Natasha was with someone whom she wasn't familiar with. She knew Natasha didn't have a friend other than Cassie, so she would find out how Natasha befriended that male individual.

"Dear?" she called.

Natasha heard the voice of Diana, so she turned around. "Mum?"

Liam got to see the mother of Natasha, so he got a little bit nervous, but he bowed down and should introduce himself. "Hello, I'm Liam Speaker, Madam."

It just dawned on Natasha she hadn't told about Liam to her parents, but she would have a talk with her parents later.

"And he's a recent friend, Mum," Natasha added.

"It's a pleasure to meet a friend of Natasha," she was delighted to hear Natasha made a friend from the school. "I want to hear some stories, so let's have tea in our home."

Natasha got worried when Diana told the word 'tea'. She didn't want Liam to eat something terrible from Diana. "Is it all right? I mean Liam might be—" but she didn't manage to finish what she had to tell.

"I'm fine," Liam answered. "I can spare a little bit of time, so I'll be fine."

"Are you sure about—?" Natasha couldn't finish what she had to ask.

"Yay!" Diana was glad Liam got a time. She started to take a step. "Let's get going!"

Natasha couldn't do anything because it was all too late. She patted Liam on his right shoulder. "I hope you'll survive since you wanted this to happen, Liam," she whispered.

Liam gulped at what Natasha told. He wondered if it was related to him being a male friend of Natasha, so the mother of Natasha was cautious of him. "If it's what I think, you have good parents, Natasha."

Natasha didn't get what Liam meant, but she interpreted that he was all right with this. It was possible that Diana would make Liam taste her infamous cookies, so how come Liam looked relaxed. "You're about to die, and you're telling that?"

"D-Die?" Liam stuttered because he was confused. "I-Isn't that a bit too much, Natasha?"

She shook her head. "Nope, not a bit."

"You didn't even hesitate to tell that..." Liam wanted to take what Natasha told as a joke, nothing serious, but that didn't seem the case, so he was confused.

"Good luck, Liam," Natasha cheered.

Liam huffed. "Wow. You're good at scaring me, Natasha. I hope this isn't about the suspense that we talked about earlier."

"Trust me, it isn't," Natasha confirmed.

Liam didn't want to think about what Natasha told or else it would just stress him out.

Diana paused her steps and then turned around to look at Liam and Natasha. "Here we are."

Liam looked at the home of Natasha. He was a bit surprised that it wasn't what he anticipated. He assumed that Natasha would have an enormous house than him, but that wasn't the case.

Diana entered first, Natasha followed, and Liam was the last.

"Take a seat, Liam," Natasha prompted Liam to sit down on the couch.

Liam did as what Natasha prompted and then observed the appearance of the living room. He didn't expect that he would get to see the home of Natasha that soon. He should invite Natasha over to his house, so it would be fair.

Diana grabbed the cookie jar from the cabinet. She noticed that the cookies didn't even reduce in number. She assumed that Bryan or Natasha wasn't in the mood to eat some, but she hoped that the remaining cookies would be eaten.

She opened the lid of the cookie jar, and then grabbed five cookies, and then placed those five cookies on the plate. As much as she wanted to blend a tea, she had no idea how to do that. She would take research, but for now, using teabags wouldn't hurt because the home had a guest.

She searched the cabinet where the yellow tea box of Lipton would be. After opening three cabinets, she found it. She poured enough water in the kettle, and then placed it back to its base, and then plugged the power connector to the outlet, and then flipped the switch.

After three minutes, the water was boiled and hot. She placed the teabags in two mugs and then poured the hot water on it. She almost forgot the sugar, so she dropped the two sugar cubes in each mug.

She placed the two mugs and the small plate of cookies on the tray. She carried the tray until she arrived in the living room. She placed the tray on the center table.

"Please free to eat this, Liam," she pointed out the cookies and tea.

"You didn't have to bother, but thank you, Madam," Liam grabbed a cookie and then took a bite.

The eyes of Liam went wide and almost spitted the cookie he bit. He didn't want to do it because Diana was watching him. He was forced to put a smile while chewing the cookie that he failed to comprehend how to describe it.

"How was it, Liam?" Diana asked, anticipating what he had to tell.

He continued to smile, hoping that Diana wouldn't notice how hard he tried to. "Oh, it's... so, so good," he didn't want to tell the truth because it would be rude.

Diana beamed. "For real? Wow, I got good then."

He laughed dryly. "Y-Yeah, good job, Madam."

Diana felt that her phone vibrated, so she looked to see who was it. She answered the call when she saw the name of Bryan. She excused herself to talk with Bryan in private.

Liam understood what Natasha meant earlier. "So that's what you mean."

Natasha felt sorry for Liam. "I'm sorry that you've become a victim of Mum, Liam."
