023 | their suspense

"What a day," Liam stretched his arms. He was relieved that the classes were over because he was pretty exhausted from fighting himself to remain awake at the classes.

He looked at his side to see what Natasha was doing. He saw that she was arranging her notes, books, and pencil case inside her backpack. He thought of starting arranging his stuff under his desk as well.

He was glad that he didn't have a club activity, so he could accompany Natasha until both of them should part their ways to get back at their home.

Natasha didn't know if Liam joined a club, so it was better to ask him. "Um, Liam?"

He looked at Natasha and paused what he was doing. "Need a hand, Natasha?"

"Um, no," Natasha shook her head. "I just wanted to ask if you're part of some school club."

"I'm part of some school club," he answered.

"You are? What club is it, Liam?" she asked.

He didn't want to give Natasha an exact answer yet, so he would a vague answer. "I think you'll learn it tomorrow, Natasha."

"I think?" Natasha interpreted that as she would either know about it or not. "What's up with that, Liam? You're not some horror or thriller movie to leave some suspense."

He chuckled. "I'm well aware of that, Natasha."

"What's the reason for not telling it right now?" Natasha was confused. "Just spill it."

"Just because," he answered. He didn't have a reason in particular. Perhaps he wanted Natasha to see it for herself. "You'll see it tomorrow... that is if you're willing."

It just added more confusion to Natasha. "If I'm willing? You're getting more and more confusing, Liam."

He didn't want Natasha to be troubled by it, so he should tell something. "Don't think about it that much, Natasha. I'm not some person who has prediction power, but I trust that you'll see it."

Natasha still found Liam confusing, but she didn't want to force him to spill it, so she had no choice, but to let it go. "Fine," she accepted the defeat.

"You'll see what I mean tomorrow, Natasha," he winked.

"I'll take note of that," Natasha would keep an eye on him.

Liam wanted to ask Natasha about the cafeteria incident at lunchtime because he couldn't rest about it. "Um, Natasha?"

"What is it, Liam?" Natasha had no idea why Liam called her, but it seemed like it was a different topic.

"I held your left shoulder earlier," he didn't mean to do that, but it just kicked in. "Do you find it unsettling?"

Natasha almost forgot about that until Liam brought it up. She found him amazing that he was considerate of her feelings. But she had a mischievous smile to tease him.

"Do I? Or do I not?" she hummed. "I think you'll know the answer tomorrow, Liam."

He got what Natasha meant. He almost burst a chuckle. "A payback for my suspense, huh?"

"Deal with it, Mister Speaker," Natasha dared.

"With pleasure, Miss Lee," he wouldn't back out.

She felt that her phone vibrated, so she fished it in the pocket of her skirt. She didn't know if it was a simple notification from the different apps or it was a message sent from Cassie. She double-tapped her phone to see what was it about.

She gasped the moment she saw that her favorite YouTuber Gamer, MagicalSinalice, announced that she hosted an event for her subscribers through her community post feature.

"Good day, Malices! I'm hosting an event where I'll pick nine lucky subscribers who will get to play with me in Among Us! Please comment 'Sweet Donuts!' down below in this community post comment section. Who knows? You might be the one who I'll get to play with!" —MagicalSinalice.

Liam noticed that Natasha looked like she received a blessing from the Heavens. He was curious about it, so he would ask. "So what's up, Natasha?"

Natasha returned to the world once she heard his voice. "O-Oh, um, nothing?"

"It's not fair if this is still related to tomorrow," he crossed his arms.

Natasha shook her head. "Oh no, it's not!"

"If it's not then what is it?" he asked.

"If you're not interested in video games, this isn't a good conversation between us because you won't get it," Natasha answered.

"I will get it," he had some decent knowledge at least in video games. "I don't play a lot of those, but I can play, but well, I'm not an expert, so don't expect I'm some almighty."

"For real!?" he could see that the eyes of Natasha sparkled once the video game topic came in. "What video games did you play!?"

"Not a lot, but Among Us is one of them," he answered.

"Let's play Among Us! I want to play that with you, Liam!" Natasha invited him.

He couldn't resist Natasha when she looked like Leon who would use his child charms to plead. "I will."
