045 | his return

What a small world indeed.

Natasha couldn't believe that Baker was here with her in the Orange Mall. Sure, she had questions in mind as to how Baker ended up here.

As much as she was curious about it, she kept in mind that what Baker went here for wasn't her business in the first place.

"I believe it is rude to refer her as Margaux when her name is not, Mister," Baker said.

"I didn't ask for it, Mister," Noah countered and then looked at Natasha. "I want to hear that from herself."

"But she doesn't want to," Baker countered. "I thought it's a simple fact to comprehend, but you disappoint me, Mister."

"I bet she doesn't have anything to do with you," Noah suspected.

Baker placed his right arm on the shoulders of Natasha. "As her boyfriend, you'll have to take an L here."

Noah scowled. "I don't believe those words scented bullshit."

Natasha disliked that Baker placed his right arm on her shoulders and if only she could remove it scornfully, but she should act in front of Noah, or else he would insist on the relationship between her and Baker, so she removed the right arm of Baker gently from her shoulders.

She looked at Noah. "Listen here you shithead," she paused. "I just want to have five tickets for Between Me and You, so I think you should lend me those five tickets or I'll file a complaint report against you for not doing your damn job!"

Noah looked at the other bystanders who witnessed the whole mess. He couldn't hear them, but based on those dagger eyes and the movement of their lips, all of them sided with Natasha and Baker.

He didn't have a choice or else his senior would question him what happened once that senior arrived here. He was certain that he would get into trouble if that happened, so he would rather avoid that.

"I understand," Noah withdrew. "Sorry for the commotion, Miss and Mister."

Natasha was relieved it ended up without causing much more troubles. She paid for the five tickets of Between Me and You and then got it.

She didn't want to hold and drag Baker since she swore to herself not to get involved with him, but not that she had a choice if she wanted to talk privately with him. In the end, she dragged Baker somewhere where a lot of people couldn't see or hear them.

"You don't have to do that, Mister Cinnamon," she crossed her arms. "I can handle that well without your help."

"I know," Baker said.

She huffed in disbelief. "You dislike me, so why?"

"Just because," Baker answered.

"Just because!?" she couldn't understand that reason at all. "I trust that you're not dumb, so you know that reason is unreasonable!"

He didn't respond.

She found herself talking to an impenetrable wall. If Baker wouldn't talk, she might as well leave him be since she didn't want to get herself involved with him further.

She knew that Baker disliked her, but she didn't know what was his reason to dislike her in the first place, so in the end, she disliked him for being such a liar about their relationship.

It still confused her, despite Baker who disliked her and lied about their relationship, he helped her when in trouble. Still, he shouldn't have to do that when he disliked her in the first place.

"I don't get him at all," she muttered.

It wasn't a question that she would fail to comprehend him since Baker stated no reason as to why he did it.

She shook her head to forget about Baker. She recalled that there was more important to think about like she needed to meet her parents and grandparents at Chilli's, so she headed straight there.

Noah had a short break from work, so he went out through the authorized door. He saw his friend, Cedric Blank, who was about to eat his packed lunch.

He sat beside Cedric. "Hello."

Cedric noticed that he looked down. "Is that related to work or something else?"

"Latter," he answered.

"So, will you or not spill it?" Cedric asked.

"I saw her," he answered.

"Saw her? Who?" Cedric asked, but then he had an idea. "Don't tell me it's Maddie?"

"Not Maddie," he answered. "Margaux."

Cedric was relieved he hadn't taken a bite of his lunch yet or else he would choke. "I didn't mishear that, right?"

"100% positive, Ced," he answered.

"So, what happened?" Cedric asked.

"But she claims she's not Margaux, but it's not a mistake, she looks exactly like Margaux, Ced," he answered.

"You told me that you're 100% positive that it's Margaux, but you claim that she claims that she's not Margaux, so what's the truth?" Cedric was confused.

"Sorry about that," he should have worded that properly. "I mean, I think I'm 100% positive that it's Margaux! Come on, we're not in a television drama where there's a twist she had a twin sister all along!"

"But Noah, you know that whether she denied or not, it's the same outcome, don't you think so?" Cedric asked. "It's not a question as to why Margaux didn't want to entangle herself with you anymore even if it happened ages ago."

He couldn't think of something to counter those words since what Cedric told was the truth. He made a bitter huff.

"I'm such a loser," he mumbled.
