Chapter 7 - Caught

(Emeralds POV)

"Let's just take a break, pleasee !"

Paradise whined as I rolled my eyes and turned around to see her sitting near the fountain in the middle of the mall.

Ugh, humans, and their tiredness. I can't wait until my brother turns her, then we can shop till we drop. Unlike humans, we will never drop though, I chuckled to myself. I walked over to the fountain and sat down near Paradise. Patiently waiting for her tantrum of overused energy to come to a stop.

"Come on girl, We just started shopping. You can't be tired that fast."

I started laughing and shaking my head. I got up and started walking towards Victoria Secrets while still continuing my laughing and shaking of my head.

"You don't understand, I never shopped like this. I never liked shopping, it was always getting in and getting out. Not get in and stay in, this is crazy !" Paradise whined.

I picked up some purple lingerie and threw it at Paradise to shut her up and it did just that.

"This is beautiful."

She said with wide eyes as she blushed and placed it back down. My face turned up at her expression. The confidence she lacked reflected her outer self in so much depth, I knew she would look amazing in that piece so of course, I would encourage her.

I picked it backed up and tried to give it back to her.

"If you like it, try it on."

I gave her the "duh" facial expression. She put her hands out in front of her and started waving them frantically.

"Oh! No! I wouldn't look good in that. That's not my style, never tried anything on like that before."

She tried to walk off real fast but I caught her and dragged her to the dressing room.

"Try.It.On."

I gave her an unquestionable look and walked out of the dressing room only to come face to face with two morons.

"WHY!"

I yelled as I rushed towards Leviticus only to be dragged back into the dressing room area by Emrick.

"Hey, Lil sis, What's up?"

Leviticus said while gasping for air between laughs. I heard snorting behind me and turned around to see Emrick in a fit of laughter too.

"This is not funny! This was supposed to be girls' day! Why are y'all here?"

I whined. It was no use in being mad, it was pretty obvious that they were going nowhere.

Emrick stepped forward and threw his arm over my shoulder.

"Well little sis, we came to look after you and my beautiful mate. Hey, where is she?"

Emrick looked at me with a peaceful expression.

"Ahhh..About tha--" I was slowly backing away but before I could finish my sentence I was interrupted.

"Hey Emerald, I actually like the way I look in this. It makes me feel sexy girrr--"

Paradise finally decided to look up. I wasn't sure if Paradise saw me or a red stop sign being that I started to heat up at the sight of bother brothers standing around taking in the view. I knew this was somewhat my fault, but then again my brothers were the most at fault. This was supposed to be a girls' day, the guys showed up and now the girls are showing out...literally.

"What the hell does she have on Emerald? I mean why the hell does she have that on Emerald?"

He gently turned away from us while keeping all his focus on Paradise. Emrick's eyes started to turn darker than usual as he slowly walked towards her. It was almost like he was in a trance because his eyes never left hers and his pace stayed the same.

"Mmm, Paradise. You do look great if I say so myself."

I looked at Leviticus like he had lost his damn mind, literally! Who in their right mind would comment on another man's woman half-naked at that? My brother was such a hard egg that needed to be cracked, just a little. I looked towards Emrick and saw that he stopped but his eyes were now a shade darker.

Emrick used his vampire speed to carry Paradise in his arm back into her dressing room and then pushed me to the side as he snapped Leviticus neck.

"What! The! Fuck! Emrick !" I yelled as I tried to punch him.

"He should have never made the comment he did about my mate. I mean how hard was it for him to keep it to himself. I personally think he got what he deserved."

Emrick smiled and headed back towards Paradise. I just shook my head and sat near Leviticus.

(Paradise POV)

Holy shit! Holy shit! Holy shit! Emrick! Leviticus! Emircks eyes! Ugh, this is really bad. This is really really really bad. I haven't stopped pacing since Emrick put me back in here. Oh Gosh, what if he killed Leviticus! I wonder if you could kill vampires. In correction to myself, I was drowned in personal conversations of myself freely throwing around words like "of course, dumbass" and reflection of "what the hell just happened?".

"Calm down, My Queen. Leviticus is fine."

Emrick whispered in my ear as he turned me around to face him.

"I don't like it when others see what strictly belongs to me, it makes me really angry, causing me to react without thinking sometimes..."

Emrick turned his head and said the last part really low and fast.

"What are you talking about Emrick?"

I grabbed his face and made him look me in the eyes.

"I snapped Leviticus' neck."

He held onto me tighter. He knew what was coming and prepared himself for the tussle that I was ready to put on.

"Emrick! Let Me Go! YOU SNAPPED HIS NECK !"

I tried to break free but his grip would only get tighter and tighter. I gave one last tussle as Emrick let out a low moan, pulling me closer to his lips as he whispered in my ear.

"I advise you to stop moving all over the place with that thin piece of cloth on before I take you right here, Paradise."

His voice was strained and barely above a whisper, yet, it held a promise.

"You killed him! You killed Leviticus over me! How could you?!"

Tears started to roll down my face and my body started to become weak.

"You just met him a few hours ago and you're crying because he's dead?"

Emrick looked at me with amusement.

"Stop mocking me,"

I said through sniffles. The hard cries I released were now causing my body to hiccup.

"I am not mocking you, baby, but if you say so. Get dressed, I'll meet you outside near Leviticus body with Emerald."

I didn't say anything, I just nodded. After getting dressed I made my way out of the dressing room and slowly walked around the corner.

"WHAT THE FUCK EMRICK!"

Leviticus yelled. I picked up my pace and started smiling.

"Oh thank God you're okay !"

I smiled as the joy to see someone I just met again flowed all over my face.

"Does it really look like I'm fucking okay, he snapped my neck Paradise. So, no I am not okay!"

He rolled his eyes and continued cussing his brother back out. The smile I held on my face slightly faded but I understood where he was coming from.

"Don't you fucking talk to her like that! She cried over your ass after you were the one who disrespected her by lusting over her body! A BODY THAT'S NOT EVEN YOURS! SOMEONE ELSE MATE! I can't believe she literally cried over you, a guy she just met."

Emrick shook his head and started laughing. Emrick shook his head and gave his brother a slight brush off kind of look.

"Leviticus you are really an unbelievable fuck! You should be mad at me, not my mate."

Emricks eyes started to grow dark again. I watched from a slight distance with hopes that there would not be a vampire fight breaking out today at the mall.

Leviticus turned to face me with his perfect hair scattered everywhere.

"You're right. I'm sorry Paradise, the comment I made was really uncalled for. Thanks for worrying about me though."

Leviticus smiled at me and threw his arm over my shoulder.

"Don't let this bimbo scare you, I can take him you know. He just caught me off guard right there."

He smiled and shrugged his shoulders. Of course, the quick mood change did not bother me being that siblings would easily fight and go back to loving each other, that's what my brother and I did.

I looked at him and rolled my eyes.

"Yeah, yeah."

He gave me a hug as I laughed off his goofiness and slightly embraced him back.

"Alright. Alright. Give me my mate back."

Emrick wrapped his arm around my side and kissed my forehead. Of course, my stomach would growl at a time like this. If it wasn't the right time or the wrong time it still would growl.

"Are you hungry, My Queen?"

Emrick looked at me with so much love and admiration.

"Just a little bit."

I started rubbing my stomach. Emrick signaled for the others to follow as we headed to the food court.

After the food court, we shopped a little bit more and then headed back to the house. Somehow Emrick managed to get one of the workers to drive the car I and Emerald arrived in, back home.

So, guess who ended up riding with the boys, We did. It wasn't that bad, disregarding all the arguing and fighting Emerald and Leviticus did. I guess I had fallen asleep in the car because I woke up to Emrick carrying me upstairs.

"Hi, honey."

I felt Emrick stop and turn around. Her voice was peaceful and captivating. You wanted to stop when she opened her mouth. You wanted to stand where her voice reached you.

"Hey, mom. About earlier, I'm sorry I wasn't there to greet you. I wanted to get her room together before she came up."

I felt Emrick scratch his head and let out a little laugh.

"It's fine. I understand, your father did the same for me. That's your mate, don't be sorry. Get her to bed, and make sure you let her know about college. I'm sure she's going to want to go back."

Emrick's mother knew what to say..I could hear the excitement in her voice for me too. She was absolutely right and I could not wait.

Emrick was sending me back to college? That fast? Hmm. I like it. I smiled.

"Of course mom, goodnight."

He placed a simple kiss on her cheek and then headed for my room.

"I know you're not sleeping. Your breathing changed as soon as I walked through the door."

I blushed as he laid me down on the bed.

"Oh, I didn't know it sounded different."

I looked up and saw that his face was inches away from mine.

"It does my love, you're breathing and heart rate slows down when you're sleeping."

He whispered. I looked at his luscious pink lips. I wanted to kiss them again, I wanted to feel just how soft they were again.

"Baby?"

I looked up and saw that he had scooted closer to me. My breath hitched,

"Yes?"

"You're doing it again." He whispered while sliding closer to me.

"Doing what?" I didn't know how long I could stay like this, I was feeling flustered by the minute and he knew it.

"You're breathing is changing and you're staring out into space."

fingers started to slide up and down my arms.

"What are you thinking about?"

If he moved another inch our lips would soon connect. I wanted that to happen, for some reason I really wanted him to kiss me.

"I'm thinking about yo-."

"PARADISE!" I turned my head just in time to see Emerald and Leviticus barging in my room and Emrick speeding towards the window.

I'm so glad I didn't have a mirror around. I knew my skin was flustered and my temperature was high. I could tell by the smirk on Leviticus' face that he had imagined what happened or what almost happened seconds before they barged in.

Leviticus crossed his arms and leaned on the door.

"What's going on here."

He smirked. I blushed harder but didn't respond. I turned towards Emrick who looked at Leviticus with a deadly glare.

"We were just talking little bro, that's what mates do." Emrick shrugged his shoulders and tried to play it cool.

Leviticus smirked again "Mates also ha--"

Emerald jumped up and covered his mouth with her hand.

"Shut up Leviticus, Do you want him to snap your neck again?"

Leviticus smirked and sped away.

"Sorry about that you guys, we were just coming in here to make sure you guys were ready for college." Emerald starting smiling.

"You're coming with me? Emerald ?" I started to smile.

"Yes, unfortunately, we all are." I stopped smiling and turned towards Emrick who so happened to be looking out of the window.

"Emrick? You're going to college with me ?" I got off the bed and walked over to him.

"Everyone at the college knows who you are, how are you going to do that ?" I grabbed his hand.

" Uhh, they saw me walk into a classroom, honey. So, if I wanted to go there I would. Unfortunately, we're going to a supernatural university."

He turned around and looked at me as if it was my turn to be worried for myself and not technically for him.

I pushed myself up to make sure the words I heard were true. Of course, both of them stared at me as if the worry flooding through me was nothing but mere.

"Oh hell no! Have all of you lost your minds? I'm not going to a school full of supernaturals that could hurt me. I'm only human for crying out loud."

I tried to make a run for it but Emrick caught me just before I could make it to the door.

"You're going Paradise and that's final. Tomorrow we're going to tour the college and get our schedules, then we are picking up some supplies."

His voice held the period and demand of no argumentation, so none was given.

There was no use in fighting this because I knew what he was saying was right. I just let out a loud sigh and went limp in his arms. Maybe this was childish behavior but at this point, I didn't care, I was basically walking into a school screaming "Hey, drink me, eat me! I'm human!"

"Well, I'm going to go to bed. See you guys in the morning."

Emerald laughed and walked out of the room. Emrick followed behind her but went the opposite way with me still in his arms.

"Uhhh, hello. Where are we going?"

I gave him a questionable look yet curiosity found its peak through me. Instead of replying Emrick kept walking until we reached a black door, which he pushed opened somehow and closed it behind him.

"Tonight, you'll be sleeping with me."

He said it with a question to make sure it was purely okay with me. I was okay with that, I actually felt more comfortable.

"If you don't like sleeping with me you can always go back but for tonight just sleep with me."

I nodded as he laid me down on his bed. Rolling over and closing my eyes before falling asleep was nothing but difficult. Being this close to him, his smell, everything turned me on in ways I never thought possible. I felt the bed dip and an arm pull me closer to the body it belonged to.

"Goodnight my love," Emrick whispered while placing a kiss on my head.

"Goodnight," I said while closing my eyes and drifting off to sleep.
