Chapter 8 - College

(Paradise POV)

I was sleeping peacefully, submerged in a pool of my own comfort and thoughts. The bed was amazing and the silk covers along with the sheets added the icing on the cake. I didn't want to leave this heaven. I could stay in this bed all day. I should stay in this bed all day. You know what, I will stay in bed all day.

"No can do cutie pie," Emerald said as she walked into the room.

I groaned. "Did I just say that out loud?"

I kept my head in the corner of the pillow or what I thought was the corner of the pillow until Emerald made a comment about the scene before her.

"What were you two doing in here last night. That position of yours is looking kind of suspicious." She shot me an evil grin.

I looked down to see the view that she was speaking of as everything from last night started to hit me like a ton of bricks. My face was in the crook of Emrick's neck as I laid on top of him with his arms wrapped around me.

I couldn't help but blush. I had never been in this type of position with any guy and waking up to someone seeing me like this was even more embarrassing. I tried to push myself up but Emrick wouldn't budge.

"Let me up, Emrick," I whispered.

That was a bad idea being that it gave him the strength to grab the back of my neck and gently pull my body all the way down. He put his face into the crook of my neck and inhaled deeply.

"No can do, mmmm. I could get used to this babycakes."

He nibbled my ear and opened one eye. I tried to avoid eye contact but the position I held worked against me and not for me. He smiled and closed the eye he had open.

"Ahem, have you forgotten I'm in here?" Emerald looked at my flustered self with amusement and put her hands on her hips.

"Mother and Father want us downstairs in a few before starting our day and heading out."

I knew she was talking to Emrick so I laid my head back down and closed my eyes.

"We're coming! Give us a few and get the hell out." Emrick managed to grab a pillow and throw it at her.

"Geeetttt outtttt." Emrick playfully yelled.

Emerald stuck her tongue out and walked out of the room, but not before giving us another warning screaming "be downstairs on time".

As soon as she left the room, Emrick was in the bathroom in less than a second. He kissed me on my forehead and handed me a fluffy towel.

"Get dressed my love the shower is already on." His voice was that of an angel.

I smiled and headed towards the bathroom. If I was an onlooker or even the reader of a book featuring a man such as mine, I would be jealous. As a reader, I am jealous. Jealous of myself.

The shower felt amazing on my body. Every muscle in me that was tense was now relaxed. I knew I couldn't be in here for long, so I finished washing and got out as fast as my body would allow me. If I would've stayed in any longer I wouldn't have gotten out in time.

I reached out and grabbed the fluffy towel Emrick gave me and wrapped it around my body. I looked at myself in the mirror and smiled, for the first time in a long time I looked happy. I opened the door to the bathroom and saw that Emrick already laid some clothes out for me and some conditioner.

The guy was full of surprises but so sweet. I smiled as the towel dropped from my body. After putting my clothes on and applying my conditioner I headed for the door. I stopped when I saw Emrick sitting in a chair in the corner of the room.

"You have an amazing body." He said as he slowly started to rise from the chair.

"If only you could see what I see." I started blushing until I realized what he said.

"YOU WERE IN HERE THE WHOLE TIME !" I loudly but softly said. He nodded and smiled.

"Oh, come on baby girl." He used his speed to cradle me in his arms.

"I kept my eyes closed some of the time." I smacked the back of his head and headed for the stairs.

"I will sleep in my room tonight if you do that again." I stopped and crossed my arms.

"This is my body, okay." I waved my hands up and down my physique to exaggerate the ownership of "me".

"Noo, this is our body. You're my mate." He placed a kiss on my cheek and headed downstairs with me following behind him.

"Nice for you two to finally join us," Leviticus said while sending a smirk Emricks way.

"I was wondering what took you so long but the sight of your mate." He looked at his brother playfully stopping midsentence.

Emrick's eyes got darker.

"Leviticus. Cut it out NOW !" Their mother said.

"Alright, Alright, I'll stop. For now, that is." Leviticus winked at me and crossed his leg over the other one.

Emrick nodded his head and looked at his mother. "What's so important mother?"

Esmerelda looked at Emrick and smiled. "I just wanted to say good luck my loves, you guys haven't been to school in a very long time and I'm kind of nervous." She rubbed her hands together nervously.

"I just hope everything goes well. Don't do anything crazy okay, and when you go touring today be mindful that this is Paradise's first time attending a supernatural school. Do not forget about her." She kissed us all as if this was the first and last of our return.

Esmerelda made eye contact with every single person in the room including me, however, before giving us the okay to leave she smiled.

Emrick, Leviticus, Emerald, and I all piled in the car. Emrick made sure I sat in the front seat with him while Leviticus and Emerald sat in the back. Our first destination was the college. Then we would pick up all the materials needed, grab something to eat, and head home hopefully.

I was nervous, yes, but excited all at the same time. I was starting a new college with my mate and my future siblings. I looked over at Emrick and he looked at me. I blew him a kiss and turned my head the other way.

It was still early in the morning so I decided to take a little nap. Besides, it was going to take a while for us to get to the University and I needed all the energy I could get.

Soon after I closed my eyes Emrick woke me up and we all headed towards the college. The outside of the college was amazing. There were glass windows on every floor adding up to more than three.

The front of the university had a brick wall with the words "Woodland University" engraved at the front. Along the right of the entrance, there were flags that represented the wolves, vampires, witches, demons, fairies, and so much more.

The grass was so green you would have thought that it was fake and the fountain in the middle of the walkway released the most sparkling water I had ever seen. As if the fairies themselves were asked to help the witches create something so beautiful.

There were rose bushes of deep red everywhere and for some reason it made me think of my dreams. However, I quickly shook the idea out of my head. Still, I couldn't help but gasps at the sight before me and we had yet to walk inside.

"Wow. This is amazing." I smiled and looked up as we entered the building.

Emrick looked at me and smiled "I knew you would love it. It is a very great school indeed and very appealing to the eye."

He winked and threw his arm around me while releasing a little chuckle.

"We are going to make some good memories here." He leaned down and kissed the top of my head.

"That I promise you." I looked at him and smiled.

I knew he meant it and that touched me. I could tell by the look in his eyes that he was going to make sure I had a great year.

After touring around the school and getting our schedules we piled back in the car and headed into town to get some supplies. I took Emrick's schedule and compared it to mine.

"Emrick, why do you have every class with me?" I looked up at him with a puzzled expression.

"Uhh. You're my mate and I want to be with you at all times. You never know what could happen, so, just to be on the safe side I'm going to be with you every step of the way."

He nodded as if he was approving himself and turned his attention back to the road.

I figured he was right and so I decided to let it go. If it made him feel better then so be it, I was just happy that we were sharing this moment together. Moments that I had yet to share with anyone other than Angeline.
