(Angeline POV)
"I still don't understand why you have to leave. Just stay a little longer." Damian pleaded while kissing my neck.
I pushed him off of me and finished gathering the rest of my clothes.
"Damian, we've been over this, just stick to the plan and everything will fall into place." I patted his chest and walked towards the door only to be stopped by his hand on my wrist.
"Will you at least keep in contact." I turned around and saw how desperate he was.
I didn't want to get his hopes up but it was too late for that. I just wished he would've stuck to the plan from the very beginning without falling in love. I had no choice but to do what I had to do; even if it meant breaking his heart in the end. One day when he found his mate he would forget all about me and that's how I needed it to be. So, for now, I would just give him what he needed and what he wanted.
"I'll always keep in contact with you Damian, I love you." I grabbed his face with both of my hands and gave him the most passionate kiss I could.
It was no surprise when he returned the kiss with even more passion than I gave. I knew this was going to be messy and I knew I was going to have to pay for everything but I was fine with that.
Once everything was final and I was satisfied; I would always be in his debt, but for right now he needed to fulfill his part of the deal. I broke the kiss first and nodded at him.
Damian nodded back and promised me that he would let me know when his part of the deal was complete. I smiled and blew him a kiss and headed for my car.
I was halfway down the hall in my own thoughts. I wondered how it was going to be leaving and coming back after everything went as planned. Before the solutions could appear I was stopped by my father.
"Where are you going?" He squeezed his eyes slightly.
"You just came back home and now you're leaving again." I could hear the fake concern in his voice.
I gritted my teeth and replied back to him with even more fake concern "Father, I'm a very busy girl. I have some things I need to take care of. I'll be home when I'm done handling some business above." He nodded and waved goodbye lifting one hand.
I threw my bags in the car and headed for Woodland University. Call me crazy but this was personal and it needed to be handled by me, personally. I adjusted my mirrors on my car and turned my radio up on full blasts. Things were going to get real messy from here and I was ready for it. I sped out of my driveway and nodded my head to the beat of the music.
"Woodland University. Here I come." I grabbed my shades out of one of my compartments and headed down the road. I was so caught up in the music that I had almost missed a very important call.
"Hello. Ah yes, Miss Esmerelda. Yes, I am on the road now. That's wonderful. Great, see you soon." I smiled to myself and turned the radio back up. I needed to get all of this out of me if my plan was going to work. I needed to get my way back into the household of the vampires and make my moves when the trust was rebuilt.
My thoughts kept me company as if someone else was communicating to me about my own feelings. My soul was unsatisfied and something was bothering me however, I quickly shook the feeling away.
After what seemed like forever Woodland University's sign came into view. The flags along with the beautiful glass windows glistened in the rays of the sun.
I pulled into the nearest parking lot and walked right into the building. Boy, it had been so long since I had been in here. Things really have changed; I couldn't help but stare in awe at the whole building.
Even a girl like me knew when something amazing was in front of her face. After walking around and picking up my schedule I left and headed to the house I would be staying at until my plan was complete. It was an hour away from here but hell I didn't follow the speed limits anyway so it would only take a few minutes to reach my destination.
The only thing I had left to do now was to prepare myself for what was bound to happen when everyone else saw me. I knew this was risky but I really didn't care. All I was after was revenge. However, my revenge would be slow and painful. Everything that Emrick was building would slowly come crashing down at the hands of me.
I made it to my destination in no time. It had been so long since I have seen this place. Everything seemed so different here. It was crazy how things change when you're away for some time. I looked off into the distance remembering a time in my early years spent here. Something bittersweet, innocent, and unknowing. Something that would create beautiful music to romance movies and add the horror of a killers' final stab when taking out the victim pleading for life before him.
*Flashback*
I was running as fast as my legs would go while my white sundress was blowing in the wind. My hair glowed a deep pool of shiny black while my skin reflected the rays from the sun when she decided to touch me. I turned around looking for the most beautiful guy on this earth and stopped when I didn't see him. I could feel my body start a process of building up an anxiety overload attack. Before I could freak out anymore I felt two strong arms wrap themselves around me. It was enough to assure that I was safe and that the emotions were triggered by the imaginations created in my head. Everything was fine.
"Got'cha" he whispered.
I turned around to look him in his eyes, I couldn't believe I loved this guy.
I smiled and replied back "yes, you got me."
*End of Flashback*
I shook my head and stepped out of the car. Why would I think about that? I didn't have time to remember. I reached into the trunk of my car and grabbed my belongings before heading straight for the door. I lifted my hand to knock but before I could the door flew open with speed.
"Oh.my.goodness.you're. here," Esmerelda said with astonishment.
"My have you grown since the last time I saw you here. You just disappeared on us with no goodbye or nothing."
We walked down the long hallway to the dining area.
"Where have you been all this time?" I knew the answer that was coming so I answered honestly. I told her how I started attending a university with humans and how I found my best friend there.
I didn't tell the truth on all of it but I did answer honestly.
"You're Paradise's best friend. Well, that's amazing, since she's Emrick's mate after all." She smiled and gently picked up one of my hands.
"I'm glad you're here baby girl, make yourself at home." I nodded and headed for the living room, I wanted to see the faces of everyone when they came home.
