Chapter 101: S2 Episode 4 - Sudden Twist of Events! (2)

After the teacher and Koshiro Miya's figures disappeared from afar, a commotion stirred up yet again.

"I wonder how she's going to get out of this one…"

"Did you see how she acted? That's what happens when your father spoils you too much!"

"What do you think would've happened if Michiko Keiko had actually gotten hurt? I felt scared for her!"

"I know! Michiko Keiko didn't deserve to go through that! She even managed to force Koshiro Miya to confess to cheating!"

"Team Koshiro is disqualified? What happens to the three teams?!"

Henri Lucas spoke through the microphone again which caused the chatter to lighten up.

"Now, as I was going to say: To everyone from the Japan campus, it has been a while! I have returned to teach you what I learned in Paris and be a judge for the final round of the Grand Prix! Let's all make sweets together again," Henri Lucas announced with a sweet tone of voice making everyone in the crowd cheer for him.

"Yes, Henri! Step on me!"

"Can you choke me, please!"

"We can do more than just make sweets together!"

Girls were thirsting for this man who was clearly older than them, but that age gap didn't stop them.

"Please, everyone calm down—G-girls!" Chairman Moriyama tried to ease the thirsting comments for the handsome foreign man after hearing what the girls had to say. Instead of trying to ease the uncontrollable mouths of the crowd, the chairman decided to change the topic into something more interesting.

"After today's situation, you all may be wondering what will happen to the three teams now that Team Koshiro is disqualified from the Grand Prix."

Everyone perked their ears up to hear what the old man had to say. Even the three remaining teams, Team Tennouji, Team Sugino, and Team Michiko were closely paying attention.

"Now that there are only three teams left, we will have to decide what will happen during the next round. We are not even sure what will be happening or if there will be a semifinal," Chairman Moriyama declared, which caught the eyes and ears of everyone listening.

Team Tennouji looked completely and utterly shocked along with Team Michiko. They couldn't believe the chairman's words but they waited for what he had to say next.

He'd turned around to discuss this matter with a group of people dressed in formal attire, supposedly the school board of this academy.

After discussing this matter with the school board, Moriyama turned to face the crowd again.

"The conclusion that the school board and I have come up with is that Team Michiko will have to go against Team Sugino! Since Team Tennouji is automatically a finalist due to achieving 1st place in the 3rd round, the two other teams will have to fight for their place in the finals! Does that sound good to you, Team Michiko? Team Sugino?" The chairman asked them but both teams didn't know how to respond.

Keiko, Andou, Hanabusa, and Kashino all looked at each other in confusion because words couldn't come out of their mouths.

'Haah, so this is where the twist is… I wonder what would've happened if Koshiro Miya hadn't gotten herself disqualified earlier…' Keiko pondered to herself with a slight scowl on her face after hearing what the school board had come up with.

"Guys? What do you think?" Andou spoke up first to the team which influenced others to provide their input on the matter.

"I don't mind," Hanabusa said, flicking his green hair out of his face.

"I guess we have no choice but to go against them," Kashino shrugged his shoulders as if he couldn't care less.

"We'll make sure that we win against Team Sugino," Keiko said confidently, brushing her long brown hair to the side, giving a determined look.

All of them concluded and nodded their heads in agreement.

"Team Michiko accepts!" Keiko, the spokesperson, replied to the chairman's question from the crowd.

The old man looked at the confident girl who seemed unbothered by almost suffering a fatal injury not too long ago. He nodded his head with a grin.

"All right, Team Michiko accepts! What about Team Sugino?" Chairman Moriyama asked, turning his attention towards a group of high school third years.

Team Sugino was a 3rd-year high school team full of four capable students who had strong skills separately. They could only be seen as second in line after Team Tennouji, meaning that their skills were nothing to mess around with.

To the side, they could be seen quietly discussing the topic together.

As the chairman and crowd stared at Team Sugino, it had seemed that the four students had come to a decision, all nodding their heads in agreement.

"Team Sugino?" Chairman Moriyama asked again. This time, the spokesperson of the team took a step forward. All eyes were now on him.

"As the four of us have concluded, Team Sugino… requests to forfeit from this competition!" The team's leader said, which made everyone's eyes widen in surprise.

Everybody was sure that Team Sugino would accept, but what was with this sudden turn of events? They wanted to… forfeit?

"They're gonna forfeit? Why?"

"Aren't they second after Team Tennouji in the high school division? What's up with that?"

"What are they thinking? Forfeiting the next round?"

Students began gossipping after Team Sugino's declaration but the chairman was quick to quiet them down and hear what they had to say.

"Team Sugino requests to forfeit, may I ask for your reason why?" Chairman Moriyama questioned and the team looked at each other with great hesitance, unsure about what they had to say.

"Although we're only second best in the high school division… The reason we have decided to give up on the Grand Prix is that… there is a group of much younger and talented individuals who can compare to Team Tennouji than us! We believe that this is not our fight!" The spokesperson of Team Sugino declared which caused everyone to be taken aback.

After this declaration, Team Sugino looked respectfully at Team Michiko, who had confused looks on their faces.

Team Tennouji also stared in shock at this unexpected forfeit from a 3rd-year high school team. That team was willing to give up fighting because they believed that Team Tennouji and Team Michiko were on the same level!

What a sudden twist of events!

"O-oh, all right then! We have granted Team Sugino's request to forfeit from the Grand Prix! As of now, the two teams that are still standing will automatically advance into the finals! Congratulations to Team Tennouji and Team Michiko! Hohohoho!" Chairman Moriyama exclaimed with a jolly old laugh.

The two teams still didn't know how to react to these quick turns of events.

Team Tennouji had hoped to catch a break in the next round, but that was completely taken away from them! Now, they had to go up against a fierce and exceptionally talented group of middle schoolers who could even be compared to being on their level! Now, this was a competition that everyone was hoping for!

Team Michiko, on the other hand, though they were at first disappointed at the chairman's beginning speech, their faces slowly started to lighten up after hearing that they were admitted into the finals.

This was what they'd hoped for, although it seemed too soon. Though Team Tennouji was a strong competitor, they would make sure to give it their all to win the Grand Prix. For themselves—for their dreams!

"Well then. I hope to see what both teams will bring to the finals. As I will be a judge, I hope to see both teams giving it their all!" Henri Lucas exclaimed, along with students cheering after this surprising revelation.

'Now this… this is the fight I've been waiting for!' Keiko looked at the nervous group full of high schoolers and gave them a fearless smile. It could be interpreted from this smile that she and her team wouldn't give up easily on the Grand Prix, no matter who they were going against!

It was also the first time that all members of Team Tennouji had startled looks on their faces!
