She sat in front of her mirror which displayed a stunning bride. Her white dress hugged her upper half body as the off-shoulder neckline revealed her collarbones. The white dress contrasted greatly against her cool honey skin which glowed unusually bright today. Her hair was worn in a half up-do, decorated with silver flower accessories. The white and Silver jewellery complementing the makeup on her face. Rose smiled, imagining Cathan's face when she walks down that aisle. Her joy shone all over the room. She was finally going to be with the love of her life.
At that moment, the door of the hotel room swung open. A lady of average height, probably in her late 50's walked in. She was dressed in a purple tent dress and black heels. Rose grinned cheerfully as her mother's reflection appeared in the mirror, standing beside hers. Her mother leaned down and hugged her daughter tightly.
Mary being there with her was the second greatest thing that happened today. Her mother had always been there to support her and Mary being here today meant a lot to Rose.
When Rose was born, her father ran away leaving her alone with her mom. At first, Mary wanted to kill herself after hearing the news but her baby's smile convinced her to live. A week after, the house got evicted by the bank leaving Mary and her child on the streets. It turned out that her irresponsible boyfriend had taken a loan from the bank and ran away with another woman using the house as collateral. Mary had to do small jobs for a year before she was finally able to afford an apartment in a dangerous neighbourhood. Through those hard times, her mom had always loved and supported her. Even with her small jobs, she always tried to make Rose happy. She was very hardworking and the hard work paid. Today she owns one of the biggest restaurants in Brazil and Her own large scale farms that produce great profit every year. Her little Rose is a certified paediatrician sitting in a room in one of the most expensive hotels in town wearing a dress which was the envy of many women.
"It's finally happening mom, I'm gonna be with Cathan till death do us part" Rose said, her body becoming increasingly restless by the second.
Mary let out a loud cry before dropping to the floor. Her hand was buried in her face as she let out loud sobs. Rose filled with concern, swiftly stood up from her seat and went to her mom.
"Mom...What's wrong?" Rose asked, as she helped her mom get on the bed, worry mixed in her voice.
Minutes passed, thoughts ran through Mary's mind. How was she going to tell Rose? How was she going to break the news? She couldn't help her daughter. She didn't know what to do. She had no choice but to cry.
"Mom, what happened to you?" Rose asked with more worry in her gentle voice.
Then Mary broke the news, "h-he's dead... Cathan is dead."
The news blew up in Rose's face like an atomic bomb.
"Where is he? Where?" Rose demanded, fear written all over her face as she shook her mom.
"He's in coldstone hospital!"
Immediately she stood up and dashed out of the room in bare feet. Her hair bounced faster and faster as she increased her speed by every second. She ran like her life depended on it, bumping into many people on the streets, ignoring all traffic signs and lights.
Then it happened. The screeching sound of car brakes were heard together with the pained cries of Rose. She laid on the road almost passed out, saying Cathan and Cathan all over again. The last thing she saw was the silhouette of a male figure before everything went black.
