Callisto’s Gift

Before I could even fathom what was happening, George and Nathaniel pushed me out of the way and stood directly in the path of the boulder, bracing themselves for impact. The boulder that was headed straight for them when it suddenly took a sharp right turn and once again moved in my direction. Donatello ran to block the boulder from hurting me, but he wasn't fast enough, so I braced for impact. 


     The boulder stopped in midair right in front of me. Joan got angry with Merlin and told him off for putting my life in danger, but he reminded us that Zephyr wouldn't have stopped and he wouldn't have avoided George and Nathaniel either. If he wanted me dead, he would've killed me already, but we didn't know why he was dragging it out. 


     Donatello said that I won't be fighting Zephyr once I got to Ceres. Merlin asked how we were planning to return and when Donatello mentioned through the mountains, Merlin laughed and said he wasn't powerful enough to get them through, but I am. They were a but skeptical about the ordeal, but Merlin's magic wasn't the only reason he was a man of many talents. 


    After Merlin convinced them on how important my magical powers were, he threw a twig at me. I let it hit me and I got electrocuted by it. He threw that stick at me all day and I had to use my magic to stop it. At dusk, I got a bit annoyed and took it out on the stick and destroyed it mid-air. Merlin applauded me and told me I could shock him back to make up for him shocking me, but I didn't have the need or energy to do so. 


    We had dinner and I went to sleep feeling stronger, like I could actually beat Zephyr in my dreams, but I was wrong. I once again encountered him, but he killed my sister before I could even reach out to her and turned to kill me as well, waking me up. I got up and Joan was on duty. 


    Since that turmoil began, she always helped me with my dreams and sanity, so I told her about it. She said that my dreams were reflecting my own fears. In order to cease control over my own mind, I had to believe in my power. That night, I fell asleep telling myself that I can and will protect everyone, and it slowly but steadily worked.
