Forty Three

I shouldn't be telling you about this conversation, but what they talked about later affected us quite a bit. George started off with apologizing for leading her on, but she said that he didn't. She kissed him because she liked him, not because she thought she had a chance. He asked her to explain herself a bit more and she opened up to him a bit and told him her life thus far.

Her mother had passed away when she was young, leaving her alone with her father. Apparently she looks a lot like her mother, so her dad hated seeing her face and was almost never home. One day, he just got up and disappeared leaving her a note and debt. She studied medicine as the town physician's apprentice, but he didn't think much of her either. George, Donatello, Nathaniel, Arthur and Merlin are the only men she had met that actually appreciated her.

Compared to George's noble life filled with expectations, it was obvious that Nara had lived a harder life than he did. They joked around a bit more until she asked George for his answer, but he said that he wanted to focus on protecting me before he thought about love. She didn't accept defeat, however, and even swore that she'd get him to confess to her before they defeat Zephyr before going to bed.

Two more weeks went by and I was pretty good at using a sword, dagger, bow and arrow, protection spells, and breaking large projectiles like boulders and canons as well as small ones like rocks or arrows. At dinner, I remember Donatello saying that he wished we could discreetly send a message of their arrival to Ceres, and Arthur, to everyone's surprise, said that we could.
