Fifty Five

At our camp, during the journey back, I told Elizabeth about Merlin, Kevin, and our father, but she already knew. She had overheard Kevin and father arguing about it one night and they said something about us being half-sisters. Her reaction to the news? "Whether it's half, full, or none, you are my sister and I love you." Ever since Kevin left, she's been pretty good at handling tricky situations.

    She asked me how we survived the massacre, and I told her that Nathaniel and I survived because I stormed out of the room, upset about the engagement. Instead of talking about the elephant in the room, she asked me if I was really in love with Nathaniel. I probably was in love with him, but love was the least of my worries, considering a possible war was about to break out.

    Elizabeth mentioned something along the lines of using the fact that Zephyr and Paul think that we're dead to attack Pasiphae before they had a chance to attack us. The land border was out of question, so the only way left to attack was via the sea the two countries share. Donatello and Nathaniel would help with military tactics, too.

    I thought of telling Elizabeth about the pendant, but I chose not to. Instead I asked her what she knew about Kevin.
