Sixty Six

Paul slowly walked down the stairs with his same emotionless expression and stood right in front of me. I quietly held my breath as he looked around and after a little while, he got mad and yelled for my captors. They went running down the stairs and even left the door open with the key in it too. He yelled that there was no one there, well no one that he could see at least.

I had cast the invisibility spell that Merlin had taught me the month prior. He said that he'd wish that he had learned it earlier because it would've saved him a lot of trouble. May he rest in peace. Anyway, I used the commotion over my whereabouts to sneak up the stairs and lock them in the basement. I cast a spell to block all noise on the door and made a run for it.

As I ran through the woods, the spell wore off and I was completely visible once more. I kept on looking back to see if I was being followed, and while I was looking back, I bumped into one of Paul's soldiers. He tried to grab me, but I evaded him and kept on running until he cornered me against a rather large tree. He drew his sword and crept towards me, so I held out my hand to blast him.

As I was about to, the giant wolf jumped down from the tree and viciously mauled him in front of me. Afterwards, the wolf stood above the corpse, and it's fur began to glow. The long, lethal canines became more human-like, as did the hair on her head and her skin as the fur disappeared into her skin. The huge, white wolf turned into a small, young girl.
