Chapter Seventy-Two: Past: Love Forgets Its Company

I heard the car swerve to a stop next to mine, I heard his scream and I turned slowly, staying close to the edge. He didn't come alone, he came with Mico and Anthony. He looked distressed, he was shriveled and unshaved. He looked unneat and unkempt. he looked as though the world had been placed on his shoulders and no one would share the drink of pain with him. He looked as though everything had beat him down and nothing was getting easier.

This is the worst we've seen of him

It didn't matter, now he could see how I felt and how the war within me was still raging on. In fact, he deserved it.

"Don't please," he whispered as he began walking forward

"Come closer, and I won't hesitate as time does with your love," I stated. He stopped, looking at me as though I had punched him in the gut without any warning nor remorse. He looked away for a second then watched me carefully.
