He got to smell her in a way that nobody else had, he got to touch her in a way that only he had and he wasn't pleased with that. He had to blend in the shadows so that no one could see that he had returned.

Yet that wasn't the only thing, he knew he should have called her and told her that he wouldn't be back for a while. He knew he should've answered her calls and texts but he didn't care about her at that moment.

He had numbed himself and made sure to put distance between himself and everyone else. He needed to do that so that he could focus. Focus on finding clues and making sure that everything made sense. He knew he couldn't give everyone attention.
