Chapter Hundred & Sixty-Seven: Past: Demons Come Running

She made no sound as she slept, her delicate snores were unheard as Veronica watched her sleep. It had taken her a while to convince her to rest but the sedatives had helped chase away the uncomfortably of the unrest.

 

Veronica had given specific instructions to the maid and also medication that would help her. She was glad that there was someone here to watch over her closely because she knew no one else would offer the same in the family anymore.

 

She had pushed away too many people at the wrong time and it was clear that she shot herself in the foot. Now that she could see that life was a bit harder, Veronica wondered if the woman would lower down her walls to receive aid gratefully.

 

She wondered if the time would come for her to see the best and the worst of everything that has taken place. Especially when it came to the line, her family, having done everything to protect and be with her.
