Season 2 - Page Twenty Four

Season Finale Part 5

2 weeks later

"You're about to graduate in a week, have you reflected amongst yourselves?" Miss Astrid opened the class with that question. "You will no longer be a high school student after next week. Are all of you ready for college? Did I warn you enough?" She looked around and gave me a small smile when our eyes met.

"You are my first advisory class so rest assured that I won't forget you even if ten years have passed, though I will just come by your life as your advisor, you might even forget my existence next year but I will be glad if even if it's small, I've contributed something to your life. I hope you all take the right path and please feel free to talk to me whenever you feel like it."

My high school life has never been smooth sailing. I've encountered problems that honestly can be solved easily if I just used my brain. But high school would probably be the most unforgettable moment of my life. Now I feel sad that it's ending now. I could've cherished it even more if I had known that it will pass by so quickly.

College, huh? I wonder what's in store for me at college. I wanted to be excited but I'm getting scared and curious. Will I be able to make it? Yeah, I hope so.

"You've made up your mind?" Sorelle asked me a day before graduation. We are both in the living room, she's working and I'm watching tv.

"About what?"

She clicked her tongue. "About college!"

I grinned at her. "I told you already. How many times are you going to ask?"

She smacks my head using her feet. "I just don't want you changing degrees in the middle."

"And I'm telling you, I won't!"

"Just making sure."

I clicked my tongue and shake my head. Ever since I saw my dad's camera, I already made up my mind about what I wanted to do. And when I reached college, I'll be an entirely new person.

Graduation

Hana's sobs filled the air as we go out of the gymnasium. The graduation just ended so we decided to grab some food before going home.

"What are you crying for? Aren't we all going to the same college?" Bryan sneers at her while wiping her face.

"I know. I just can't believe I got accepted into college!"

"Yeah, we can't believe it either." I retorted, earning a light smack on my arm coming from Yujin.

"Just cry again when you entered college. I'm sure, you'll have plenty of tears to shed." I added, making her stop crying.

"Yeah. Just save that tears for later." Bryan said as he held her hand to calm her down more.

"You really look ugly when you're crying," Lea commented making her cry even more. "Stop it already, Bryan's already having second thoughts about you."

She stopped crying like Lea said a magic word. I shook my head. I wish Bryan all the patience in the world to deal with Hana.

I looked around. It's still surreal to me how this is my last day as a high school student. I'll sure miss a lot of things here.

And I'll definitely miss her.

I watched her as she talk happily with our classmates and her friends from other classes. She got into the same preparatory school as Yujin. She'll be a doctor in a few years' time. That's nice, I'm sure she'll be a great doctor someday.

I stared at her some more. This is the last time I'll see that face and that smile. It hurts but this is for the best.

Im rooting for your success in life, Peach. I hope you'll only be happy from now on.

"Siren." Yujin called out.

"Hmmm?"

"We're heading out to eat. Let's go."

"Alright."

I glanced at Peach one more time hoping she'll glance my way too. But she never did. I smiled bitterly.

Goodbye, Peach.

Our walk back home is quiet. It was always like this but this time I feel like the silence is heavy, it's suffocating.

"I'm glad you and Lea made it up," Yujin said quietly, trying to break the awkward atmosphere between us.

"Yeah. Should've been a long time ago. But I'm just glad we are okay now."

"I'm sorry..."

"Why?" She didn't answer. "I told you, you are not the reason-"

"But I know that Lea likes me..."

"Huh?"

"And I feel like we betrayed her at some point. Honestly, up until now, I still don't know how to face her."

"Yujin-"

Yujin smiled. A forced one. "Of course, I know everything's okay now, you fixed everything, and I didn't do anything. I just watched at the side again."

I forced her to stop walking. "Yujin, What is this about?"

She shook her head violently, not meeting my eyes.

"Yujin-"

"I'm sorry. All I ever do is bring trouble. All I ever do is hurt you..." She started sobbing.

"Please don't say that... Talk to me, what's wrong?"

She shook her head again, took a step back, and wipe her tears.

"I'm sorry..." Yujin keeps repeating the words over and over again and I feel like I'm about to cry too. Seeing her breaking down in front of me is painful to watch.

"Yujin-"

"Let's break up, Siren."
