A World of Mages, Talking Animals and Other Assorted Creatures

I decide to screw with the world that I liked the most: the world of Valdemar. I show up in front of Ma'ar's headquarters with a grin on my face. "This'll be a lot of fun."

"Who are you?" Some random guard asks.

"None of your damned business." I dart forward and stab him in the chest. "Fun." I laugh and walk right into the base. I'm sure I set off all kinds of alarms since Ma'ar himself came to observe me while I dispatched all his guards.

He steps out of the shadows clapping. "Bravo good lady." He gives a charming smile right as I jab him in the gut. If I got the timing right, this is before he creates that little hideyhole for himself. "Ack!" He says right as I stab him in the chest.

"Done." I grin and walk out of there. I use the elemental Quirk and wash my clothes of the blood and dry them off. I hop into the future happily and kill the ones that killed Tylendel. Once I do that, I wander the palace and the Collegiums.

At one point, I was laying on a bench, sunbathing, when a shadow fell over me. :Hello Chosen.: I hear in my mind.

:Hello.: I smile and sit up.

:I am called Eclipse.:

:I am Kayla Frost. It is wonderful to meet you Fair Lady.: I stand and embrace the Companion setting my forehead against her's.

:It is wonderful to meet you too, Darling Chosen.:

:You've seen my mind yes?:

:I have.:

:So is he here?:

:Yes.:

:Might I meet him?:

:He's still in that phase.: She puts emphasis on that.

:I see. Well I will be a friend for him in his time of need.:

:That is a good plan. He may even open up to you sooner. Just don't chase after his affection.:

:I know. As pretty as he may be, he cannot ever love me like that.: I sigh.

:There will be others for you.:

:Mhm.: I sigh. :I am going to live forever. However, I don't want to lose you 'Clipse. Would you like to be with me forever dearheart?:

:Yes.:

"Hey." I murmur under my breath. "Cento?"

'I am here.'

"Can you grant my wonderful lady friend here immortality?"

'Out of all the companions you could choose you pick a horse. Pretty strange if you ask me.'

"I don't ask you. Now please just do it."

'Fine, fine.' The image of him in my mind began to glow and so did Eclipse's Mindtouch. Then all of a sudden they stopped and Eclipse still had a faint glow in her aura. 'Is that all? If so, I'm leaving.'

"That is all." His mental image faded and I gave Eclipse a hug. :I love you, dearheart.:

:And I you.:

"Who are you?" I hear an old annoyed voice.

"Heh. I'm Kayla Frost. Nice to meet you...?" I extend a hand.

"Savil. Savil Ashkevron." She hesitantly reaches for my hand and I smile lightly holding it.

"Wonderful. Eclipse here was just telling me what a wonderful teacher you are. I'm a new Herald-Trainee."

"Ah. Well, welcome Kayla."

I smile. "Thanks." I walk up closer to her. "Wind to thy wings darling Wingsister of big brother Starwind."

"What?" Her eyes go wide as I turn and walk away.

"Where to now 'Clipse?"

:The stables please.:

"Good plan." I smile. "I'm sure you'd love a good grooming right about now."

:Oh yes!: Her Mindvoice was laughing. :Please do!:

"Alright." I smile and climb up onto her back riding her bareback. She turns and looks at me so I just grin and wrap my arms around her neck. "Let's go!" She simply walks and we're across the entire Companion's Field in less than a minute. I slide down off of her and tell her to wait there. I had to go reinforce the story I gave to Savil. Therefore I needed to somehow manage to change the memories of an entire Vale of Tayledras. Should be easy.

Once I finish that, I go back to Eclipse and proceed to groom her. She seems to love it when I brush her mane and tail so I spent most of my attention on them. Then, around sunset, I hear another voice, this one clearly male. "Savil said to come find you. She said I was looking for a chick with wings, horns and vibrant purple hair." He stands there studying me for a bit before nodding. "Yes, I think you're the one she meant."

"So what's your name?" I could guess but I didn't want to seem creepy.

"Tylendel." He smiles and extends a hand. I grasp it with a grin of my own on my face.

"Kayla. Kayla Frost."

"That's a beautiful name. Perfect for a beautiful girl such as yourself."

"Aww! Thank you!" I smile while blushing.

"Now, let's go see Savil."

"Wonderful idea." I smile and follow behind him.

"Ah. You're here. Welcome young Kayla." Savil smiles when I walk into the large room.

"Thank you." I smile and nod to the others in the room. I saw Vanyel looking forlorn and walked to him. "Hello." I say softly, startling him. He had been looking downwards and jerked his head up at the sound of my voice so fast it must have hurt. "Are you okay?"

"Why are you talking to me?" His cold "Holier than thou" attitude surfaced and I simply smiled.

"You seemed sad." I say simply. "And lonely. So very lonely." I smile. "I can see it in your eyes."

He gave me a wide-eyed stare. "H-How?"

"I'd know. I was like this once too." That was a blatant lie of course but it got his attention. "Would you like a friend?"

"Y-Yes." He whispers.

"I'm glad." I smile.

"Alright!" Savil says. "Time to eat." I just smile and turn to Vanyel. "Would you like to eat with me?"

"Sure." He smiles slightly.

"Great." I grin and we go eat. I need to be very careful with this boy.

On the day that he gets rejected by the Bardic Collegium I was there, helping him feel better, asking him to play for me, anything to help save him from his self-loathing. "Do you know the song The Shadow-Lover?"

"Slightly."

"Here, let me teach you." I smile and hold out my hand for the beaten up lute he uses. I slowly pluck through the song, one verse at a time letting him practice. Then once he has the cords down, I teach him the rest.

"Shadow-Lover, never seen by day,

Only deep in dreams do you appear

Wisdom tells me I should turn away,

Love of mist and shadows, all unclear--

Nothing can I hold of you but thought

Shadow-Lover mist and twilight wrought.

Shadow-Lover, comfort me in pain.

Love, although I never see your face,

All who'd have me fear you speak in vain--

Never would I shrink from your embrace

Shadow-Lover, gentle is your hand

Never could another understand.

Shadow-Lover, soothe me when I mourn

Mourn for all who left me here alone,

When my grief is too much to be borne,

When my burdens crushing-great have grown,

Shadow-Lover, I cannot forget--

Help me bear the burdens I have yet.

Shadow-Lover, you alone can know

How I long to reach a point of peace

How I fade with weariness and woe

How I long for you to bring release.

Shadow-Lover, court me in my dreams

Bring the peace that suffering redeems.

Shadow-Lover, from the Shadows made,

Lead me into Shadows once again.

Where you lead I cannot be afraid,

For with you I shall come home again--

In your arms I shall not fear the night.

Shadow-Lover, lead me into light."

"Great job!"
