Irene wasn't very fond of Jin. There was had one conflict between them and Irene took that chance to never trust him again. He was nice and all but when you make him mad he isn't what anyone would imagine. That was the reason why she will never trust him again...
"Oh it's Jin. I forgot he was a demigod. He never came in mind." Mason said trying to brighten the mood.
"I hope you guys don't mind. Jin is the only guy who I can tell my secrets to. Now I can trust you guys." Sofia said with a big smile. "For a shy girl she sure seems positive." Mason thought to himself.
Irene was glaring at Jin. Of course it was suspicious to them but Jin didn't mine. He was a year older than them and he doesn't care what people think about him. "Well it's nice to see you again Jin. It's good to be working with you," Mason said shaking hands with Jin. He pulls him closer and whispers in his ear," If you betray us once I'll kill you." Mason lets go acting like nothing happened. Jin nodded. "I'm here to seek revenge on my father. If Zeus crumbles down then Apollo will next." Jin said in a serious tone.
"We don't even know what he did to you. Why should we fully trust you?" Irene asked mocking his tone.
"If you can trust Sofia then you can trust me. We're all here for a reason." He said crossing his arms. Both, Irene and Jin, we're giving each other death glares. Mason sense the heat going on between them. He understood why both of them were serious. Irene was always serious with the people she trusted and Jin was always serious about his family. Even if they could get along it wouldn't last long. After all, Irene isn't always the friendly type.
"We can all trust each other. Like Jin said we're all here for a reason. And like Irene said the more the merrier. It's a win win situation. Take it or leave it?" Sofia said trying to cool the heat between Jin and Irene. Irene glances at Mason to see what he's thinking about. Mason nods which made Irene gruff. "Fine. Jin you're welcome to stay. But if you betray us I'll feed you to the ghosts." Irene said, ending the conversation there. She walks away trying to control herself. Mason starts jogging up to her but not too close. He knew Irene hates losing an argument, but losing an argument with someone she just met made her furious. She's like lava when she's mad. She's boiling but eventually she'll cool down. "Hopefully she will cool down soon." He thought to himself.
Jin watched her walk away. Sofia looked at him and asked," Soooo what was that about?"
"Just some past things that we haven't fully accepted. Everything will change soon. I know it." Jin said still starting at Irene, like the weirdo he is.
"Mind telling me what it is? It's better if I know now than later. Just in case...." Sofia waited a couple of minutes for Jin to answer.
Jin finally took his eyes off of Irene to look at Sofia. "It all started in-"
"Want a cookie?" Mason asked after baking a fresh batch. It has been over an hour since they went to Irene's home. Mason took that chance to practice his baking skills and to try to cool down Irene. Her mom wasn't home yet and Lottus was taking a nap after a long day of waiting at the door.
"It has been years since I talked to Jin and now I can't even stand him. YEARS! I tried to avoid that incident but then he comes back acting like nothing ever happened. What a pain in the butt." She said making an outburst.
"So, no cookie?" Mason asked trying to hide himself behind Lottus' sleeping body. Irene held out her hand which made Mason confused. "Cookie or knife?" He whispered. Irene glared at him. "Ohhhh Cookie. Hehe." He slowly gave her a cookie. She snatched it out his hand and plops back on the couch. She thanks him and starts devouring the cookie.
Irene's mom came home a couple of minutes later to see cookie crumbs all over the floor. Irene was still on the couch looking dead she possibly could.
"IRENE SANTOS! Look what you've done to the living room! Rats and ants and all sorts of things could come in!" Her mom yells waking up Lottus. Lottus straitened himself up pretending he wasn't sleeping a minute ago.
"Awwww my sweet Lotus woke up. You can go back to sleep sweetie. Irene is the one who needs a lecture. I don't want you to have to hear it." Her mom said in a sweet tone stroking Lotus' back. "Now Irene," Her mom said with a serious tone," I told you many times about this. I know you're sad from your weird looking face." She made a disgusted face making Irene change her expression.
"I get it mom. I'm your nasty child, but don't worry I have been thinking in my sad state. I'll start everything next week. My training with our new members, planning everything out, all that stuff. I'll start it tomorrow."
Mason looks at Irene with a displeased look. He starts walking towards her "What!? I've been practicing my baking skills for no reason! The only training I'm doing is baking!" Mason yelled changing his expression into a mad one.
"I didn't ask you to join. I said new members not useless members. You can do the planning. You can't fight to save your life to begin with." She said pushing his face away from her. Mason starts mocking her and leaves the house without saying his goodbyes.
"Now look what you did. You made him leave without saying bye to Lotus. Go to your room and study. I'll call you down for dinner." Her mom said carrying Lotus in her arms.
