Farewell Gifts

(Amelia's Pov)*YAWN* These lectures are going to be the reason of my death one day. Should I skip next lecture?

I looked towards my friends, who were already snoring in their sleep. I sighed and kept my books inside my bag. Yeah, I should skip next lecture, these guys will be excited enough to support me in bunking.

As soon as the next lecture started, I pinched my friends awake, and we rushed out of the class to skip the lecture.

"Haaiyaaa! I'm free now!!" Colten said, while stretching his arms in air, to awaken his muscles from sleep.

"I was about to faint from exhaustion if I had stayed for one more lecture..." Milly said, and Hayley nodded in approval. I rolled my eyes, knowing they were already sleeping in previous lectures.

"Hey! Amelia!" I got called from behind as we were going towards the cafeteria. I looked behind to find two of Derek's friends waving their hands at me and smiling brightly."Now what..." I whispered in frustration."Amelia! How're you? It's been long since we met you!" One of them cheerfully said and the other one nodded."The point?" I asked indirectly."Uhm..." They both hesitated before looking at each other and nodded in determination."What is it?" I pressed again. One of them took out something from his bag and forwarded it to me."What's this?" I asked as I took the mysterious looking box."It's a puzzle, if you solve this, you get something precious." Derek's friend said, and I frowned in confusion."Then why the heck are you giving this to me?" I asked."Yeah, give it to me! I love puzzles!" Max exclaimed as he was curiously gazing at the strange box."No, only Amelia can solve this puzzle.""I hate puzzles." I scowled in anger as my lips twitched."At least try it, now we're also curious to know what's inside this box." Colten said, encouraging her, and Hayley nodded agreeing with him."Alright..." I said, and started fiddling with the box, trying to open in any way possible. Fifteen minutes passed, yet I was unable to open this stupid box."What the heck is this box!" I exclaimed, and they shrugged, making me huff in anger. I dropped the box on the floor, and lifted my foot in anger. Everyone gasped as they saw me stomp forcefully on the box.Yeah, that's right, the box opened, making me smirk in satisfaction, but my satisfaction was short-lived when I saw Colten picking up the box with the contents inside it.There was a key and a letter inside, I picked up the letter and read.Dear Feisty Kitten,I hope you have been well, it has been a long time since we had a chat, right? You might already know Who am I. I believe you found this letter yourself, and the only way to open this box was by kicking it. I know how much you love to kick and punch people, don't you? I hope you don't kick in your sleep, do you? If so, I might be in trouble in the future.

Anyways, the purpose of this tiny game was to give you this key, you found inside the box. Your wish will come true using this key, and your dream will be fulfilled. I know I had been against all of your decisions, but now I know, it runs in your veins, I will try my best to not go against you anymore, and I hope you forgive me for ignoring you for so long. I have realized my mistake and this is a small gift to you from me.

Come find me where we met for the first time officially, I will take you to see your gift. Come find me kitty, your rat will be waiting for you, to annoy you.

I laughed and closed the letter, I ran instantly, leaving my friends flabbergasted. I rushed to the warehouse, where I officially met him for the first time. I felt my chest swell with happiness as I was running towards our friends little hideout.I reached there and saw the whole warehouse was now converted into a decorated and cozy hangout vibe which made me gasp in surprise. I was gawking around the warehouse in curiosity. He did an amazing job in renovating this sh*tty warehouse into a funky and cozy vibe hangout, with fairy lights surrounding the walls, beautiful wind-chains and dreamcatchers, a hammock swing which instantly became my favorite as soon as I laid my eyes on it, and the fresh smell of new paint, new novels and bookshelves, and much more.I was looking around when I saw a remote and console on the small table near a bean bag, as I was walking towards it, the TV started on its own, and an audio started playing."Did you like the mini surprise I prepared for you? Of course, you would have liked it! As it was me who prepared everything. Anyways let's have a game challenge, win this car race, and get the key to the next surprise." Derek's voice came from the pre-recorded audio, and soon an online car race application started on its own."Such an oversmart and overconfident a**hole!" I exclaimed but smiled excitedly as I sat on the bean bag and pressed the buttons of the controller to start the race.I concentrated in the game like I never would for my studies and exerted force on buttons while trying to crash and overtake his car.The second round was about to finish and we both were equally competing with each other, I had this sudden boost of confidence to win over him and took a sharp drift on a curve round, allowing only a little space for him to drive.

I noticed he was applying brakes as the speed of his car was reducing, and I successfully overtook his car and won the race, making me jump up from the bean bag and shout.

"YES!! I DID IT!""Oh don't be so happy, I let you cheat on me for once, will show you again in the future." Derek's voice again came from the audio, which was pre-recorded! Making me gasp in shock as I came to know it was his trick, he had already planned on losing."Now let's give you the present for winning the challenge. There's a box on the couch, you'll know what to do with it, just open it."I looked behind and saw a pretty baby pink box, I walked near it and opened it. I saw a really cute dress of my type and a note on top of it.

I flipped the note and saw just a smiley drew on it.

"Idiot." I said but smiled. I couldn't stop smiling, this was the best day in my whole life.

I took the dress and saw a mini washroom, prepared by him in the warehouse. I entered and gasped again.

"F*ck! What the heck is this!?"WHO THE HECK makes a mini luxurious washroom in an f*cking warehouse!?

"He has gone insane, how much money does he waste in a day to be wasting it on property of university!? Ugh, whatever!" I exclaimed and closed the door to get changed.

"Now what should I do..." I whispered as soon as I came out of the washroom, but my actions stopped as soon as I saw all of my friends and his friends lined up in the warehouse and outside, leading to somewhere. They clapped as if encouraging me to move."What is this, a movie shoot or song shoot or what?" I exclaimed, some laughed while some blushed in embarrassment. I walked ahead, following their lead, some gave me roses and some gave baby breath, I held all the flowers together.This was making me feel giddy and embarrassed all of a sudden, I feel like a stupid toad, about to be confessed and kissed by some sort of prince charming.I reached outside and saw Derek holding the car door open while waiting for me. I slowly walked towards him, and he held a bouquet of roses for me, making me blush. I took the bouquet from him, and looked at all the flowers and bouquet I had, they were simply gorgeous."You know... I'm not the type of girl who would get impressed by flowers easily." I said in a low, soft voice, hiding the fact that I was at max level of shyness."Yeah, I know, red cheeks." He said in a criticizing tone, and smirked. How would I know I'm also blushing!"Hmph! Why all these efforts when you were the one, ignoring me like I was dead--""Shh! Don't you dare!" Derek exclaimed sternly as he kept his finger on my lips. He slowly removed his finger and picked my palm. He kissed my knuckle and gently took all the flowers and bouquets, keeping them safely in the backseat of his car."Do you have a fever? Or did you hit your head somewhere? Is it soul exchange by any chance!?" I exclaimed in worry, looking at his changed behavior."It's called realization and love." Derek said with a sigh."Oh... is that so..." I whispered and looked down. I know I like him, but why can't I bring myself to confess my feelings with him? He's also being very indirect!"Come, let's go.""Where?" I asked in confusion."To your next surprise." I nodded and looked at him, as he swiftly opened the door for me and made me sit in the car. I smiled at his gesture, and I opened his side of the door too, he chuckled at my actions and shook his head. I smiled back at him."Why these many surprises today?""It's a secret, you'll come to know soon." Derek said and smiled. His smile is so cool and dashing, whew! Breathe Amelia! Breathe!He took me somewhere, and we stopped near a building. I was excited and confused at the same time."Come, let's go." He said, and I got out of the car, I saw a four-floor building which got me even more confused. I stared at him, seeing him walk towards me. He took my hand and led me towards the entrance."Open the door, Amelia." He said, and I stared at the lock, not knowing what to do."The way to unlock this lies in your possession." Derek smirked commenting."Oh! That key!" I snapped my fingers, when I remembered. The key remained safe in my hands, I used it to unlock the door and was again shocked to see many fighting and exercise equipments lined inside the building."Derek... what's this? You brought me to a gym?""Nope, not just a gym... it's a training center and a gym. Just for you, to fulfill your dreams.""Derek... I-I can't take this, it's too much. And I know your brother already has many training centers, I can just go there to train.""No I am not taking back any gifts, and this center already belongs to your name, oh, and don't worry I have fifty percent share of this gym, so we're partners. If you face any problems in handling this center, contact me, I'll try to reach you as soon as possible." Derek said and smiled while walking towards the small boxing ring and looking up at it."What do you mean by that? Will you not immediately arrive as always?" Derek chuckled and then sighed."Amelia, I'm afraid this is our last time we meet each other, before my flight. Consider this as my farewell heartfelt last gift before departure.""H-Huh... last time...? Are you leaving me alone..." I felt my saliva dry down the throat, as the reality seeped through my heart, he's not staying, he's really leaving, and that too after giving so many gifts, how cruel of him. He turned to face me and came towards me. He held both of my cheeks with his hands and stared in my eyes."Why are you getting sentimental, I'll come back once my studies are over. And I promise, I'll bring back even a bigger gift next time for you." He smiled tenderly as he stared in my eyes. I smiled back at him, I can't force him to stay, if he has finally come to appreciate my strange hobbies, I have to accept and appreciate his career too. I smacked his chest and pouted."Just one gift?" I pouted."Heh as expected of my wild greedy kitty." Derek says and I frowned."EWW that's so cringe." I said and smacked him again on his chest playfully, he laughed loudly."Will you wait for me?" Derek asked in a serious tone, as soon as his laugh died down."NO! I will not wait for you! I'll date as many men as you did past few days." I said and pouted."Oh dear... and here I thought I would at least make you my long distance girlfriend..." Derek said and sighed. I gasped."Haw! In your dreams!!" I said and turned away from him, but a smile was threatening to escape my lips."Okay alright my future-wife, please wait for me, I'll come back and make you my girlfriend and wife at the same time." I blushed and smiled at the same time."Stop with your dreams now." I said and pouted."Oh I am an expert in making dreams come true." Derek said proudly.We both spent the evening teasing each other and having fun. But deep down we both were sad, as we had to separate from each other without being able to spend much time. Derek apologized to me for not being able to spend much time with me because of his stupidity when he was making himself busy flirting with other women, and I forgaved him as I knew he regretted it truly.---
