The Wedding

The preparations for the grand wedding and Derek's departure were complete, now only a few days remained till the wedding. Derek was going to leave New York as soon as Wedding and Reception functions are over.Gianna was somewhat sad about it, but she every time smiled and encouraged Derek to never feel lonely there and come back regularly to meet them. Though Derek agreed, he knew he won't be able to come back, even if he does so, he wouldn't be able to return as he has grown attached to Gianna, Charlie, Amelia and pets at his home. He would click many pictures with them as a memory."Gianna, would you like to go out with me today? The weather is really great today." Xavier asked her, as he had taken two days leave due to Gianna's constant complaints regarding his extreme workload and wedding preparations. Xavier was wearing his casual home clothes and relaxing on the couch with Charlie, whereas Gianna was reading a braille book of deserts recipes. Gianna was totally excited about the wedding as she was given the responsibility of deserts section by Xavier. She stood up and went near Xavier, resting behind him by the support of the couch."Are you getting bored without work?" Gianna asked him casually."Yeah... I am not habitual of doing nothing at all." Xavier sighed."Okay, alright. Let's go on a date." Gianna said and smiled."Oho! I never said it was a date?" Xavier said and laughed, looking at his fiancé, blushing hard."Are we going or not?" Gianna glared using her eyebrows and warned."Of course, my queen, as you wish.""Yes! As I wish, so today we'll go to the places I want to go! Not some expensive hotels or casinos or dance balls! I am fed up with your extravagant 'dates'." Gianna folded her hands and huffed."Sure my love, your words are commands for me, if not fulfilled strike my heart as hard as you wish." Xavier said and smirked. He enjoyed making her blush and angry at the same time."Stop being cheesy, let's go.""Mhmm. On one condition, though." Xavier started again and Gianna sighed."I swear to god, this man... what is it?" Gianna slumped down.Xavier touched his index finger on her lower lip and brought her finger on his lip."You want me to kiss you?" Gianna asked innocently."Mhm." Xavier hummed in approval."We're in the living room, anyone could enter anytime.""By now, you would have kissed me thrice at least.""Shameless..." Gianna whispered yet give him a small peck on his lips and instantly stood up and ran towards her room. Charlie followed her to look over her, they left, leaving the shocked Xavier behind."She's becoming naughty day-by-day." Xavier whispered and smiled. He sighed and stood up himself to get ready.They both left for their date. Gianna told him, she wanted to go for peach picking in a farm. She never had the chance, but she had heard from her customers back in the day in her café that peach picking was very joyous as a picnic. Xavier agreed and took her to a nearby farm."This one?" Gianna asked in a soft tone, as she touched one random peach."No, it's not ripe yet." Xavier disagreed."How about this one?" Gianna asked and tilted her head."Yeah, this one looks great." Xavier instantly agreed. As they schemed through the farm, picking many fruits, Gianna's hair got stuck in one branch, she whispered-screamed in pain. But Xavier was busy talking with the old farmer couple who owned the farm. He was asking if the fruits they had selected were ripe and of good quality or not.Gianna pulled her hair, but her hair strand got tangled in another branches too. She was struggling, when she heard stifling laughs from nearby. Some other couples were watching her struggling to untangle her hair from the branches."W-What is it? Why're you laughing?" Gianna asked loudly but... in the wrong direction, making the other laugh loud again. Xavier heard some laughing from behind and turned to see Gianna standing near the plants, her head down, clenching her dress and her hairs tangled in branches."Oh Gianna! Wait I'm coming!" Xavier didn't know the situation, he thought the couples might be laughing casually, enjoying their picnic. He quickly thanked the farmer couple and walked back to Gianna. Seeing him come back, the other couples who were laughing at Gianna distanced themselves from Gianna."Wait Gianna, I'll help you untangle your hair." He was about to reach for her hair, when she caught his hand. She very lightly pushed his hand away."No need. I'll do it." Gianna said and pulled her hair from the branches. She successfully untied one knot, allowing only a few strands to remain tangled. She pulled her head in the other direction and yelped in pain as she broke those few strands from her hairs."Gianna, you should've let me help you, see you broke your hair, and it must've pained also..." Xavier softly explained to her, but her lips were trembling and tears were threatening to fill in her eyes."I am not your doll! I can do my work on my own!" Gianna exclaimed in slightly high voice and rushed to go out, but yet again her hair got stuck in branches. Xavier rushed towards her and sighed."You already know, my love, that's not what I meant..." Xavier said and started untangling her hair. Gianna was about to move her hands to do it herself, but Xavier knew it and instantly kept both of her hands around his waist."Hug me, while I do this." Xavier said and smiled, looking how cutely she managed to hold his strong built waist and clutch his coat."Gianna, you are not my doll, remember this, you're my queen, my love, my soulmate, my future wife and my eternal partner. I will never allow you to be anything else than this. Never hear anything what others might think or say, just believe in what you feel and what you sense. Can you feel this?" Xavier asked her, keeping one of her hand on his chest, where his heart was racing and thumping, like it would run out of his chest this instant on a whistle.Gianna said nothing in response, but just smiled and blushed. Her reaction was a clear answer to Xavier. He smiled and came near her face."My fee for this?" Xavier asked and Gianna blushed."Just one okay? We're in public." Gianna said softly and Xavier hummed.Gianna brought her face even closer and let her lips touch his lips, they stood near many peach and strawberry plants, while kissing each other and letting their tongues taste the sweet and tangy flavors of peach. Xavier left her lips, but he was still unsatisfied, he broke one small and sweet strawberry from nearby branch, cleaning it, he kept in his mouth and kissed Gianna.Gianna moaned as she tasted sweet strawberry pulps and an unexpected kiss attack from Xavier. Xavier groaned when he heard her moan. His tongues swirled around her mouth, tasting all her saliva, whereas Gianna licked his lower lip with her tongue. Gianna patted his chest, making him stop."Let's go now..." Gianna whispered near his ear and turned around. Xavier paid the payment for the fruit basket they collected in the farm.Next they went to a nearby amusement park. Xavier and Gianna enjoyed few rides and when Gianna got tired they left the park. Gianna suggested walking on the footpath and not driving. Xavier signalled his guards and handed them his car keys."As you wish." Xavier said, and they walked on the footpath, Xavier bought balloons for her, when he saw a man selling them near the footpath. Gianna was very happy with the balloons, but she was somewhat awkward, as she knew many of his guards were following them in a distance from behind and from ahead also.Yet, she decided to enjoy this moment with him. Xavier got a message at that moment. His hotel reservation was booked. He had booked a whole floor in his hotel for dinner."Come, let's go now, Gianna. The booking has been done." Xavier said, but Gianna glared at him."For dinner, that's it." Xavier said in a guilty voice."I hate these expensive dinners, you already know. I make better food than these spoiled young master foods." Xavier burst out laughing, making Gianna smile brightly in return."Okay dear, next time we'll have a date in your kitchen, happy?""Very happy, now let's go." Gianna said, and they both sat in his car to drive to the hotel.--~Wedding day~Finally, it was the wedding day, Xavier was damn nervous for the first time in his life. He was getting excited chills and impatient to see Gianna in her wedding dress. He again and again fixed his collar and took deep breaths. Lorenzo came in the dressing room and saw his son fidgeting and sweating nervously, he chuckled and shook his head dejectedly, he was getting nostalgic, this was similar to how he felt when he had got married to Grace."My son, don't be this nervous, everything will be fine." Lorenzo said and patted his back."Dad, I don't know... I tried to calm myself a few times, but in vain." Xavier said and sighed. Lorenzo chuckled again."Anyways, I am going to escort Gianna to the Aisle today in place of her dad, from this day onwards she's not only your wife but also our daughter, so it's my responsibility to take the matters into my hands." Lorenzo spoke in a commanding tone, Xavier stared at his father and soon his eyes were filled with tears."Hey now, don't you dare cry before me, I don't know how to console a bulky matured man like yourself." Lorenzo spoke and patted his son's back again, Xavier took a deep breath and dried his tears which were gathering, he thanked his father and left from the room towards the aisle. Their wedding was being held in the Moretti mansion itself, in the huge garden, decorated with numerous of Gianna's favorite flowers. It was a very private event, with no media involved, but Xavier had to invite some celebrities and business tycoons who were involved in the mafia and his hotel business. Xavier stood at the aisle waiting for his bride.Gianna soon came dressed as a pure goddess in her white wedding gown, she looked equally nervous, but she had this sweet and soft smile which was overshadowing her nervousness. She was escorted towards the aisle by Lorenzo, which she felt very grateful. They both faced each other, Gianna could feel her heart beat increase, as she inhaled his familiar cologne. She smiled brightly, as he held her protectively."Xavier, the wedding is about to start." Gianna whispered as she felt him staring at her without any distraction continously."I know, love."After the wedding rituals and taking oaths, they exchanged rings, which were carried by none other than Charlie.Xavier had prepared a surprise for Gianna, he took her ahead towards the dense area near the garden after the wedding, they were still dressed in their wedding attires. He had decorated a bridge with flowers, which was connecting to other side of his land. Gianna got excited when she heard the bridge was decorated. The photographers silently followed the newlywed couple to click the best pictures.Xavier took her slowly to the other side and they heard soft music playing, he suggested for a dance and she agreed.Gianna felt she was the luckiest woman to have someone like him by her side for eternity, whereas Xavier felt the same vice versa.----A/N: The wedding is over finally! I know it was short and fast-paced, but it was necessary for a perfect ending, oh no no, this was not the end of the novel, still 3 chapters are remaining.
