Aurora has always been the 'unattractive, unattainable' girl throughout her whole life. No man has ever approached her with the intention of courting her, rather they approached her to learn more about her best friend. She was better known as a 'DUFF'. But now with her best friend dead and a baby depending on her, she finds herself trapped in a loveless marriage that will test and strengthen her character. Like most 21st century women, she views herself as a feminist. One who doesn't believe in love. She views love as a Capitalist movement created to control unsuspecting minds while breaking their bank accounts. But she finds herself falling in love with a man. Not just any man, her friends boyfriend who also happens to be her husband.

Deep In The Mud

The past few days have been unbearable, l don't know how Aurora has been coping because she was emotionally and physically attached to Akai more than the rest of them were. Seeing her face was unbearable because l could see the little glimmer of hope disappear from her eyes every time l came home and there were no good news to deliver

She was trying to be positive but anyone could tell that the situation was hitting her harder than she was letting on. That is why l had called her place of work and requested, more like demanded that she work from home

The pressure was mainly on me as the father and head of the household. It is my duty as a man to protect my family and l was failing before our journey began. The hardest part was letting go of my oldest friend and big brother, the company that l had invested my whole life into building up was slipping through my fingers and there was nothing l could do
