Healing The Broken

It worries me that i broke my promise with lil' Olie, i told her that i'd be back after four days but it took me about six days before i could get home. Before i try to open the door, i crossed out the name of the fifth person on my list.

1. Miller Northwhite ×

2. Henry Lyre Woolstein ×

3. Jeremiah Gabeslock

4. Franciscia Dellavè ×

5. Erwin Brookes ×

6. Victor Heignz III

7. Creighton Knightwoods ×

I smiled, thinking that my list would finally be complete. And with that, i can even think of a future living satisfied and happy with Olie---and Olivia wouldn't have to---

"...Hudson! You're home!" Olie greeted as she opened up the door. She quickly ran and hugged me tightly. "You meanie, i thought you'll never come back home!"

"O-Olie... i'm sorry i made you worry."

She buried her face on me and gently pulling me back. "It's okay, let's just go back inside."

As we got back inside, Olie prepared a meal for me. Then she kept talking of how i was doing.

"So how were you? Why didn't you came back earlier? Did something bad happened to you?" Olie rained a lot of questions to me as if she was like my worried mother. It really makes me feel better when she does that... she reminds me a lot of her.

"...well, a lot has happened. I'm really sorry i made you worry about me."

"You don't need to be sorry, Hudson. It seems to me you got into trouble again, just like last time." She suddenly looked even sadder.

"N-No, i didn't. I swear. You should really stop worrying about me Olivia, you're still a kid, you should act your age and play with your dolls." I told her.

It surprised me as she slammed her hand on the table. Tears escaped her eyes and she gave me an angry look. "I know, i'm just a damn kid because of my age. But it doesn't change the fact that i don't think like one! It's so hard for me to keep this act long enough Hudson!"

"Olivia..." it really shocked me to see her act this way...

...as if i forgotten who she really was.

"Please, whatever you're doing... please stop Hudson... you're my only family that's left." She came closer and hugged me tight.

I hugged her back and caressed the back of her hair. "I see... i... i'm sorry Olie."

Then she started sobbing. "So promise me, please don't let yourself get into trouble."

Attachments are so dangerous, sometimes it's the reason why you're being held back. And i think Olivia can be a great threat sometimes. I literally don't trust anyone.

But Olie, she's an exception.

I love her, more than anything in this world...

"Okay, i promise." I said.

But she's not enough to hold me back. I lied of course. I fed her poison that i hopefully believe that she accepted. It was never my intention to please her and let her manipulate me.

If things goes the other way around, if i ever started hesitating about my own plan... i've gotta do it. I'll kill her so no one can stop me.

After i rested for a few hours, i decided to take Olie out. To make up for what i've done. We went to the amusement park that she wanted to go to.

"I'm so excited!" She said.

"You better be, this will cost me a lot!"

"You bet i will, do you really promise that we'll ride all kinds of rides there?" Her eyes were sparkling while asking that.

Too cute, damn.

"Yeah!" That was all i could say, i was lost for words. Olivia is such a beauty, and it's such a shame to have her live in a world like this.

I wonder what she would be like if she had a better family?

It was still a mystery for me that she let Olivia live in this world, she already know how horrible it was. And it gets even worse with each moment passing by. It kepts getting inhabited by devils who wants to take innocent lives.

Pft.

For now, Olivia should probably enjoy the best out of this moment we spent. It wouldn't take long enough to turn her into one of those people. It's pretty sick, i know, but i'm also an innocent person who was turned into a demon by all the cruel people in this world.

"Hudson! I wanna ride that!" She loudly said, getting excited by the sight of a carousel.

I gave her the money to buy her own ticket. She then became confused. "I'm riding it alone?"

I smiled, "Come on Olie, i'm a grown man. I wouldn't want people seeing me ride there."

She mischievously laughs, "Oh, right. It would look silly! I'll be going now, see you later!" Then she off to the ride.

While i was taking a short walk, i bumped into a man who seemed to be disturbed and suspicious. He was wearing a hat that covers half of his face, so i couldn't really tell what he was trying to do. "Excuse me." I said.

He grabbed my hand and surprised me, then i clearly saw his face. "I finally caught up with you." He said.

I sighed and glared at him. "What the fuck do you need from me, Carter?"

Damn it.
