Part Thirty Three

Everywhere

Hundreds of zombies are being dropped every second, but it doesn't seem to be enough as the never-ending horde presses and throws itself against the barricades as the barrage of synchronized gunfire fills the still air.

The Tanks each fire off a shell as giant clumps are blown into gory parts.

Cayce zips the gunship over to the south area, hovering over where Makayla resides as she and Anthony help pin back an oncoming horde from overwhelming the structure

Makayla: Goddamn, air support…light them up!

Cayce lines up his shot and begins to fire as he holds the trigger down and begins shredding the zombies that were climbing over the mounting wall of corpses that were stacked against the barricade, Makayla looking away as Cayce sends a missile down that blows away a huge chunk of them in a massive fireball that rocks the area. 

Cayce zips the gunship to another side and flies past the north sector as Rebecca covers Nick's end, Nick reloading and covering fires for a Soldier who was also having to reload. 

Lance watches the bodies pile up along the barricade as the Runners then crawl on top and sprint and reach towards the men defending it as Mary pulls back on her bow and drops a few as DJ sprays a line and drops three. 

DJ: They're piling up too fast!

Lance: Then shoot them off!

The tanks fired off two shells apiece back to back, destroying a large clump as Kris scans and looks for Kolton but can't find him as Kris sends an order out

Kris: If anyone sees the damn smartie, blow it to hell! 

The Jeeps behind the tanks begin to open fire as Runners begin clumping and climbing up along the Tanks once they get past the entrance walk. 

Terry cocks the lever on his Winchester repeater and fires again, letting one fall with it's eye blown out of the back of its skull as Shane can be heard through the radio.

Shane: Assistance! I need back up!

Cayce: Copy that. 

Brianna drops a few runners as Terry and her locked eyes. 

Terry: Go!

Terry watches Brianna drop another and then bolt down from her spot and run towards Shanes location. Terry grabs Finch and puts him where Brianna was. 

Terry: cover this end!

Finch: But…

Terry: Now!

Terry runs back to his post and cocks his lever as he shoots another zombie down. 

Rebecca snipes a few by Shane's end as the gunships whooshes by and into view as Adam can be see sitting in the left side chair of a mounted torrent gun on the gunship as he was opening fire and mowing down a pack of runners along the piled up walker corpses, Rebecca running to her .50 cal rifle as she. Begins to pick up the slack from Brianna's loss on Terry's end. 

Kris signals to a man who brings over a rocket launcher, Kris shouldering it as he aims about until he sees a smiling Kolton.

Kris fires as Kolton backs up and watches as a pack of runners run in front of him three rows deep as the rocket, blowing the wall of runners into bits as Kolton oats his shoulder from some fiery gore that splattered him as Kolton smirks and disappears back into the sea of undead as he screeches again and the endless wave begin moving and pressing and piling up along the barricades straining walls. 

Kris: Shit…

Kris throws the rocket launcher down and pulls his M16 around. 

Lance fires only for his clip to empty as he quickly reloads the AK only to step back as a runner comes sprinting at him and launches itself at him, snapping at his face as it is now standing at the top of the eight foot high pile of dead corpses. 

Lance avoids it's bite and bashes his gun across its face as it falls down and topples into some runners as Mary watches as more and more crawl and run up along the pile. 

Mary: Grenade!

Mary pulls the pin on one and drops it over as she fucks and covers her ears from the loud BANG of the compressed explosion as it destroys about three feet of zombie corpses along a decent stretch of barricade.

Mary: We gotta lower the pile!

DJ: Lower the piles! Use a grenade!

Lance shoots one dead and away as he then tosses a grenade down as the rest of the men do the same, everyone ducking as a loud swell of synchronized explosions go up along the rim of the barricade as Runners and blown up or off of the shrinking pile of dead bodies as some fall into the crevices and are smothered by the pile of rotting corpses fall into itself as one of the Tank fires a shell and shakes the area as it had fire a shot directly in front of it to break up the clumping by the gate as Kris looks to see that it was only 4:06 am. 

Cayce unloads the remaining rounds of his bullet cache on the front mounted gatling guns on a group of runs on Nick's end as Nick throws him a thumbs up as Cayce nods and zips the gunship over towards the south end by Makayla. 

Adam unloads on the torrent gun as Anthony fires and blows some away as he reloads and looks up at the Gunship as he signals to Adam who nods as he hits a button and reels himself back inside the gunship as he unstraps himself. Cayce looks at him and puts the gunship into a hover.

Cayce: Hey, you've still got…

Adam: Sorry, man. 

Raises his .44 and blows the top part of Cayce's head off.

Makayla looks up to the sound of a lone gunshot above her as the gunship wavers and moves erratically for a few moments before stabilizing as she jumps at the sound of another gunshot, Makayla looking down as she sees blood forming from a hole in her chest as she looks up at Anthony who back hands her closer to the barricade as he grabs her throat and watches as she had blood dripping from her mouth as she spits in his face. 

Anthony: See ya around, bitch. 

Anthony reels and front kicks with all his might as he sends Makayla over the barricade as she crashes down onto the pile below as she is immediately torn apart and devoured. 

Adam holds the gun on the copilot who was too shook as he looked at Cayce's dead body as Adam lowered the ladder and watched ad Anthony Makayla being torn apart for a moment with a devious smile as he then grabs at the ladder and makes his way up as no one had seen what he had done as they were too focused on not being overwhelmed. 

Rebecca runs to her 2nd .50 cal sniper rifle as she looks through the scope to see Anthony climbing up to the gunship as she scans about and can't find Makayla. 

Rebecca: Kris, something's wrong!

Kris ignores her as he tossed a grenade down 

Rebecca: Someone, anyone, come in! Listen to me something is wrong! 

Shane: What's going on... Rebecca?!

Rebecca: Makayla is missing and one of DJ's mains just climbed onto Cayce's gunship!

Terry hears this and turns to see Finch gone from the post as he spots the former politician booking it amidst the confusion as Terry sneers and runs after him. 

Lance turns to aim at DJ but he gets a good shot in as the gunship swooshes by and hovers above as Mary aims at DJ only for Anthony to aim down at her as she scowls as he was in the mounted torrent gun. Lance looks at DJ who reaches up and grabs a hold of the ladder.

DJ: Enjoy your last living moments. It was an admirable right I will admit. 

Lance: Enjoy your fleeting escape, it won't end the day you expect.

DJ smirks but it fades as he could see the death glare that Lance looked at him with as Mary turns and fires a Runner away from attacking Lance as Lance curses and helps out his men as DJ ascends the ladder. 

Lance: Goddamnit, Kris! Kris! DJ is getting away! 

Kris turns to see the Gunship taking position as it aims at his barricade. 

DJ: Blow it. 

Adam nods and fires a missile.

Kris grabs Miles and Lyndsey and forces them to jump from the spot as the missile sails and hits the barricade as the explosion misses the three but destroys the barricade wall as DJ smirked. 

DJ: Let's see how long they last now. 

Adam watches as Finch is waving them down. 

Adam: I've got Finch. 

DJ: Leave him. I've got my own connections outside the country. 

The gunship turns as Finch screams at them as Terry stops and aims, firing twice as he hits Finch in the back, Finch rocking forward as he immediately coughs up blood, Finch turning as he holds down on the trigger to the machine gun and raises the gun at Terry, Terry doing his best to move but is struck by an arrant bullet to the side. 

Terry winces in pain but stands and shoots Finch in the head, right between the eyes, as Terry turns to see the area was suddenly being overrun by the oncoming mass of undead as Men are firing about but are soon tackled and taken out by the many runners as Kris groggily stands and looks to see the hole was sizeable.

Kris: Get the Jeeps to cover that hole!  And someone blow that goddamn chopper out of the fucking sky!

Rebecca aims and fires, hitting the rotary blade at the tail end of the gunship. 

DJ holds on as the copilot tries to steady the gunship as Brianna steps forward and holds up a rocket launcher as she aims at it as Shane covers her. 

Brianna: For Makayla you sons of bitches!

She fires and DJ noticed it as he grabs Anthony

DJ: Jump!

The Two make the ten foot leap and land hard, crashing through the top of a tent and landing on some cots and luggage as Adam screams as he tries to get out of his seat but is to late as the rocket hits the nose of the Gunship and blows it sky high as the fiery hunk of metal burns as it crashes onto the ground below.
