CHAPTER 7

The she brought out something a tiny bit more expensive. It went up to my neck and was a red color. It was a short dress, also meant to be worn with some bracelets, and the price seemed reasonable enough to pay for. Only ten dollars more than the previous dress.

But after that dress, women came in to help with putting on the dresses. The third dress was white with lace all over. To me, it was more of a wedding dress than the evening dress they claimed it to be. It had a tight silver band around the waist, giving me a curvy and taller look. The price was way too much to even say, so I decided not to even think about it and smile. This will probably be the only dress over a thousand dollars I will ever put on. Thankfully after I took off that dress, the women went away and Caroline brought out the last one.

This one was a pale pink color with diamonds encrusting the top. Yeah, this one was also another expensive dress over a thousand dollars. I groaned when I saw it and Caroline chuckled, shoving it in my hands and forcing me to try it on. I came out and looked over myself in the mirror, finding all the dresses fine even though I liked the first two the most. I groaned again when Caroline smirked. "What now?"

"Well, these are the dresses Zavier got for you," she replied. I nearly fainted. "He also got you some new sports clothes and those are being delivered when you two are the Amber Sky Pack. Don't tell him I told you early." I gasped and took the dress and changed back into my normal clothes, my jaws still gaping at her statements.

All these dresses were already owned by me? Because Zavier already paid for them in advance?!?

Thank God I am not a shopping freak like Caroline. The gym clothes excited me more but I was happy and grateful that he thought of m. Then my heart tugged at the thought of my mate in his office, keeping his distance for today. I wanted to see him, but I would see him later. Right now was the time to spend with my new best friend Caroline.

Caroline lead me into the forest, where the whole pack was gathered for the monthly night run. I chuckled nervously, rubbing my arms. "Okay, so this is how it works. We get behind bushes, strip buck naked, shift, and run around all the night and play around. Beta, Alpha, and Luna always in the front. That's it. Anything else is completely allowed that is peaceful. It hasn't ever been that way though. Someone ends up getting hurt," she explains, shrugging and getting behind a bush. I did the same and shifted, coming out from the bush and seeing everyone else in their wolf form.

There were wolves in many different shapes, sizes and colors. Red, gray, brown, but no black or white. I stood out from the crowd. Caroline stood next to me, her red tinted fur proudly standing out. I padded over to the crowd and pushed my way through, struggling to not notice the green and brown eyes being placed on my fur.

A huge roar ripped through the crowd, all the wolves around me cringing except for Caroline. A large black wolf emerged from the shrubbery, his menacing blue stare not having to tear through the crowd to find my white fur and growl at any nearby male. I stood tall and growled at Zavier when he grew near, telling him to stop threatening anyone. I mind linked him.

No one will even try, Zavier. I would kill them myself

Zavier stopped growling and stood beside me, Caroline joining her mate on the side. Zavier moved forward, quickly going to the front of the pack, and I, flanking him. I knew his eyes were looking straight at me, but I decided to ignore him for the sake of today and the run. Zavier started to growl again at the nearing males, their bodies looking ready to run everywhere. I turned towards him and glared at him.

Zavier, you're going it again when there's no need!

He stopped growling and I nod sharply before he started to run, my stride smaller than his, but I was keeping steady pace. The pack followed us until Zavier let out a small growl that dismissed the rest of the wolves. They parted from us, howling and laying around. Some sleeping, some running, some talking, some hunting. I moved to the nearby river and it made me stop everything that I was doing and wag my tail. The growl sounded playful. I smirked. Oh he didn't just challenge me in a play fight.

I am the Alpha and he is the Beta at play fights. I saw hi wolf stride confidently over to me, his smirk obviously plastered on his muzzle. I growled, the sound brimming with challenge.

He tried to pounce on me, but my training kicked in and rolled my body away. His wolf was much too big for agility, and my small slim wolf was strong and agile. And in this battle, speed is key. I leapt onto his back, grabbing at his scruff and pulling. He spun around, knocking me off, but I charged, nipping his back leg. He growled and finally pinned me, his blue eyes gleaming with victory. I growled and did my best to shove him off and quickly escape his hold. I instead held him down while he was wiggling on the ground, trying to get me off. I clamped my teeth on his ear in a threat he stopped, staring into my eyes intently. He lay his head completely down in submission and I wagged my tail triumphantly, prancing away like a little pup.

Some of the older wolves found our playing amusing, but some found it completely horrifying. If I had beaten Alpha, that means I was stronger than him myself. Meaning the whole pack sees me as a merciless warrior without a heart. When another wolf stared at me way too long and with a dumb founded smile on his face, Zavier got involved. He grabbed him by the scruff and threw him across the river, the male's back ramming into a large boulder. Everyone else looked at this conflict like it was something that happened every day.

I acted, bolting for the inured male and standing defensively in front of him. Zavier blinked, his growl telling me to step aside. I didn't move an inch, glaring at him the most intense stare I could muster. After a few moments like this, I turned back to the injured wolf and nodded, dismissing him. He whimpered and went away with a nod of thanks. Fury blazed in my mate's eyes, outraged that I let that wolf go without any more punishment. He stared at me, his paws flexing, but I knew he wouldn't hurt me in a million years. I raised my head higher and licked his muzzle lightly before he stopped and calmed down. He howled slightly and I gave him a toothy smile. The show of affection made the adorable younger wolves at the age of thirteen see their Alpha in a new light. The new generations were going to see Zavier differently because of this act and I was confident that I did it. The older wolves nearly smiled, but knew the punishments.

I tipped slightly in excitement and started to run off, weaving through the trees and letting my tongue hang out of my jaws, I smiled and gripped my claws on one of the trees, sharpening them on it. Zavier followed behind me rubbing against me in apology. I licked his ear in response and he looked up to the sky to see the sun creeping up over the trees. He guided me back to our main are where everyone shifted and I shifted back and put my clothes back on, feeling relieved that I had given the pack the vision that he could be someone to love, like me.

I shuddered when I heard someone behind me. Not Zaviers's scent. I turned and saw a man. He extended a hand and I shook it, looking around for Zavier. I pulled my hand away quickly when the handshake got long enough just to make sure Zavier wouldn't try to kill anyone again. "Thanks for saving me," he said, dipping his head slightly. "I would've died without you there to stop Alpha."

"Just be careful where you look, dude." I reply casually. "Alpha doesn't take things lightly."

"I was only admiring that you stood up to Alpha and challenged him back. The pack needs a Luna like that," he explained.

"Make sure you just be careful." I turned away, walking back to the Alpha house, carrying my boots back just because I was too lazy to put them back on. I sat down in the couch, the door opening and Zavier walking through the door when I turned on the TV.
