'It's time!!!' I exclaimed in my head as I bounced out of my bed and headed to the living room in a dash!
"Mom! Mom!!! Wake up!!!" I shouted at the top of my lungs, practically shaking her out of the sofa!
"Mom, come on!!! Let's play!!!" I hurried to the kitchen and made us a quick breakfast, then ran back with back breaking speed!
"*Ugh* Nynn," My mom called out tiredly, stretching herself awake, "what are you doing up so early in the morning? And we talked about this. No games on Sunday."
"Sorry Mom, but it's a Snow Day!!!" I shouted out, barely containing my excitement. I shoved a bowl of cereal and an Udels into her unsuspecting hands and mad way back to my room, shoving an egg sandwich into my pie hole!
".... *???* What? But it's still summer!" She responded after finally processing what I said.
"Not here silly! In-game!!!" I answered back. "Now hurry up and get on!!!"
"But wait Nynn. I'm..."
*slam!!!*
"... tired... *sigh*" She tried to stop me, but I was already long gone and starting up my terminal!
'Snow Day! Snow Day! I can't believe I get to go to Snow Day!' I chanted over and over in my head.
But before I continue, a bit of clarity.
The time in-game and in reality is 5-1. That means that 1 minute in real time is 5 minutes in the game. As such, one year real time is 5 years game time. This means that it snows five times a year in real time!
When it snows, mobs that don't normally spawn, do. And because of this, limited time only drops come on those days. Ice type spells, potions, weapons, and armor! Foods and uncovered Areas! And so much more!!! ()
The thing is though, it snows for only one week in-game, thus only one day in real-time, hence why it's called Snow Day!
While the limited time drops, mobs and snow cover would make for very good reasons to drop what your doing and play, I'm not in it for any of those.
Nope! Instead, I'm going for...
'Hidden lore! Hidden lore! I get to look for hidden lore!' Yup, you guessed it! Lore drops! There was once this player who joined a subjugation of a Named Boss Monster from Snow Day, and he found an item called the Ice Wizards Crown and that lead the Lore Hunters to connect 7 of their most crucial theories! SEVEN!!!!
Since then, I've wanted to join the Snow Day subjugations for years and I'm not letting another one pass!
As for why I'm dragging my mom along, well that one's a surprise.

As we joined on, we were bombarded with Snow Day greetings from all over. And I returned enough for the both of us!
"Happy Snow day to you too!"
"Happy Snow day!!!"
"Happy Snow day!!!"
"Happy Snow... *gasp*! Mom! Come, over here!!!" I called to her in surprise!
"W-wait! Slow down! Jeeze, what's gotten into you today?" She asked as she stumbled across the road in her hurry to get to me, holding a witch hat in place on her head.
I grabbed her hand and practically dragged her to where we were going!
"Mass Subjugation Quest to subjugate a Pillar Frost! Players at lvl 40 and above only!" one voice rang out among the masses!
"Multiplayer Quest to exterminate a newly discovered Hornet Rabbit Burrow! Only 10 spaces left!" another erupted!
"Candy Cane Dash is back again! Get searching if you don't want to be left behind!" yet another called out!
As more and more calls rang out to my ears, I could feel my heart racing faster and faster!
"*pant* *pant* *pant* Whaaaa!!! This is a lot of people!" My mom exclaimed in surprise!
"I know right?!" I replied with enthusiasm for days! "Now come on! Let's join one before they get filled!!!"
With that, I grabbed her hand and ran to the recruiting areas with full confidence! I had this day planned and calculated for weeks beforehand! There's now way nothing will go wrong!

Murphy's Law... I hate you...
'I've miscalculated?! How could I have let this be?!' I screamed at myself in my head!
How did this happen?! I had prepared to the fullest for this! I made a schedule! I analyzed Snow Day data trends for days on end! I even set my alarm clock for 12 instead of a few minutes before hand so that I could get in the maximum sleep for mom and the minimum amount of time needed to get into the first quest of the agenda!
So why am I here and not there?!!!!!
"... *hehe* There there now Nynn." My mom saw my still gloomy face and tried for what is the thousandth time to try to console me, "So what if we're too low leveled to get into must of the ones you wanted to? At least we're on this one!"
As I said, she's done this a lot over the pass few minutes, but case in fact is, she's not wrong.
I planned and prepared o the maximum, and yet still, the fact that they increased the level requirements for most of the subjugations was nothing short of a blight!
The only one they didn't increase by too much that was still reasonably available for lore finds was the one I wanted to do!
"Alright everyone!!!" The Quest Master (an NPC in case you're wondering) stepped up to a platform and started talking, "Let the Slimy Snow Subjugation Quest begin!!!"
Everybody riled up at the announcement, weapons equipped and raised above their heads! All of them, of-course, except for mine.
"Great, slimes! Of all things, slimes!" I mumbled to myself in disgust. ()
"...Oh come on Nynn, it can't be that bad." My mom tried again.

"Never mind, it is that bad!"
That was my mom, and that was her response to our current predicament.
*splat!!!* "Haha! I got 20!" a player shouted out with pride as he squished an Ice Slime and some shards fell out!
*splick!!!* "Hey! I got 33!!!" Another yelled out, a puddle of blue goop showing that there was anything there to begin with!
"Hey no fair! I'm only getting 10 form these!!!" a different player shouted out in protest!
"Haha! Sucks to suck, Noob!" boasted in glee. Many jealous glares were thrown in his direction and players started hacking away at the blue jelly abominations with renewed energy!
In case your wondering 'What on this green earth is happening?" then your in luck, cause I'll be explaining it for you.
We're killing Ice Slimes to get Slime Shards for brewing potions. The effects are random, but the more you put in, the better the chance of getting a really good effect. So this turned from a Subjugation Quest to take out slimes, to a game of Wack-A-Slime Lottery within seconds.
Got the picture? Moving on then.
As for me and my mom, this wasn't becoming the best scenario we've been through.
I'm a Shield Marsialist, so I'm next to useless against slimes, and Mom's element is useless against Ice Nature mobs, so we're just sitting this one out. To add fuel to the fire, they made the slimes feel super realistic, and mom was having an excursion of her own just dodging the flying residue!
"How much longer do we have to wait before we can leave?" My mom asked me in a rather stressed voice.
"5 minutes." I replied, even though she could see the timer too.
"'We were lucky' I said. 'It can't be that bad' I said. " She started mumbling and cursing to herself. That's one of the things I love about mom. She doesn't wait until people say 'I told you so' before she starts reprimanding herself.
I eased up from the floor and brushed my rear free of snow. At least we agree in some cases.
"Now now. Let's not dwell on it and just get out her fast, alright?"
...
"... Mom?" I waited for her response, but when I turned around, she was no where to be found!
"Were did she..."
"*scream!!!*"
"*!!!* What in the world!" I shouted out in utter shock as I saw my mom, leagues away from me, and getting eaten by a giant Ice Slime!

Emergency Quest!!! Subjugate Name Monster "Cream The Frost Walker"!!!
"Wait... Mom?!!" What on earth?! She was right beside me a few seconds ago, what?!!!
'Jeeze!!! It doesn't matter! Mom!! Here I come!!!' I screamed in my head with determination as I literally screamed and charged after the oversized blob of ice that's trying to eat my one remaining parent!
"AAAAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!"
I rushed at it in the midst of all the other players and dove in with all my might...
only to get slingshotted right back!
All the players that dove in with me bounce back just the same! Even a barrage of spells, and projectiles flying in for support bounce right off of it!!!
"Mom!!!!" I shouted, calling out to her, but she couldn't hear me!
'Crap! Come on!!! Think Nynn! What can I do?!' I thought to myself frantically!
The effort to subdue it with force continued, but was still as ineffective as before! And now Cream was making its move!
*ahhh...*

Left and right screams were swallowed up as players left and right were sucked into its gelatinous body! It was unstoppable!!!!
"Come on dang it! THINK!!!!" I screamed out in anguish! Was getting nothing! Mom's gonna die and I'm getting nothing!!!
Flash backs to my dad started to threaten the edges of my mind, but before they could get to me, a screaking scream shock me awake!
"*SCREAM!!!!* NOOO!!! John_Doe69!!!!" a woman screamed at cream as a man was being sucked in!
"You bastard! You'll pay for this!!!" she screamed in anger and sot an attack at the spot her partner was sucked in by.
*FIRE BOLT!!!!*
The attack blew off a bit of it, and I dropped my jaw in surprise!!!
'Of course! Why didn't I think of that?!!!' I criticized in my head.
I used Full Coil and ran essence through my whole body! With a kick, I ran full tilt to Cream and pulled my shield out, then just wailed on it!
"What's that kid doing?!" A player called out in concern!
"Stop him before he gets eaten!" another called out, but they were too late!
Cream expanded to me, and swallowed me up in seconds!!!
In its belly, I forced my eyes open and looked around to get my bearings.
'Hmm, this looks good enough.' I thought to myself. Then I set off all the Explosion essence I had flowing in me...
Hey! I never said I ran Body Reinforcement essence through me did I?
*EXPLOSION!!! SELF DESTRUCT!!!*
I felt pain like no other rip through my body for a slight second before the pain nullifiers kicked up full throttle and guarded me from the rest!
A gaping hole was blown out and I fell to the ground without the presence of the slime holding me up!
"..." x 30-ish
"... D-don't falter!!!" another random player called out, splurging everyone to action!
"Keep shooting it!!!!" another chipped in!
"We can't let this chance pass by!!!"
"ARRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!"
Every e-attack available was brought into being and fired upon the slime, and soon Cream joined its brethren on the floor!
Victory cheers echoed across the snow covered plains we stood on and everyone shone as items were added to their inventories!
Perk Activated - Sturdy
'Ah, so I'm alive...' I thought to myself as I lay on the ground in the puddle of blue, 1 hp. and 0 essence remaining!
"*gasp!* Hey kid! Are you okay?!" A player, a Barbarian class Wolf Beastkin asked at my ragged state.
"...I'll live." I croaked out. The man immediately called for a healer, meanwhile a concerning thought crossed my mind.
'Oh no! I'm gonna be famous because of this aren't I?!!' I thought to myself, trembling at the thought!
'Oh my! I'll have to get an autograph! And get speech lessons for my talk-show appearance! And get a guard to protect me from the poparatsy! And...' thoughts started spawning in my head... but then my bubble burst just as soon as it started filling up!
"Poor kid was almost absorbed by the thing, he must be terrified!" the wolf man said to the healer that came.
'Eh?'
"Say, do you know what happened to that man?" The healer asked the wolf
"Baka!!! What else would have happened?! He'd have died from that!" he replied. ()
"True." she replied.
Eh?! Oi, I'm right here!
"Though thanks to him, we got to defeat that thing a get a ton of shards from it." He said thoughtfully. Still here by the way!
"Yeah, we got a lot of shards thanks to him." the healer replied thoughtfully. And also, still here!
'To think all my death was worth was a few shards!' I thought to myself, crying on the inside.
"... Are you okay there buddy?" The duo asked.
"No worries, I'm fine." was all I could say in reply.

"Nynn!!!" My mom called to me as soon as she found me back!
"Mom! You're safe!" I exclaimed, and she crashed into me, giving me a big bear hug.
"Are you okay? Are you hurt? Did you do anything reckless? Are you..." She started firing off at the speed of light and I had to cut her off.
"Hey mom." I started, getting her attention, "I couldn't get you anything last year for Christmas, so here's a late gift from me."
At that I pulled out a potion bottle with something in it! It's an Ice Resistance Potion! It was the drop I got from Cream!
"I wanted to get a Fruit Bee Spray from one of the subjugations today, but that's no longer possible, so I'm giving you this instead. Happy Snow Day!" I said with a nervous smile.
She gasped at the gift then gave me a kiss on the head.
"Thank you Nynn. Happy Snow Day."
