Chapter 29 - The Wife Of Mom’s Choice

MMPHFM 29

Mumut looked at her cell phone screen. There was Bian's name on it. For a moment, Mumut hesitated to call Bian to inform him about her mother's condition. Mumut was afraid she would disturb Bian's busy life. The girl then put her cell phone into her pocket and walked out of the room.

For a moment, Mumut was silent while looking at the garden in front of her. Suddenly Mumut remembered her thesis, which she hadn't had time to handle ever since her mother's accident. Mumut intended to go to the campus library to borrow some books to be used as references for her thesis.

Mumut was shocked when she felt her cell phone vibrate, and an incoming call reached her ears.

Mumut immediately took her cell phone from her shirt pocket. Her chest immediately thumped when she saw Bian's name written on the screen.

"Assalamu'alaikum, yes ..."

'Waalaikumsalam, did you call, Mutia?" Bian's voice was soft.

"Uh, sorry, I pressed the phone accidentally. I put the phone in my pocket, sir." Mumut blushed and felt guilty for disturbing Bian's activities. It must be because earlier, she returned the screen to the home position and locked it, so she immediately connected to Bian when the call button touched her shirt.

'Oh ...' Bian's voice sounded flat.

Mumut then heard someone was talking to Bian, interrupting the conversation between them. Bian didn't hang up and let Mumut hear his conversation before he finally asked, 'Did you check your mother to the hospital?'

'What did the doctor say?'

Mumut told him what the doctor said, including the doctor's request that Bian contacted him if he had free time. Mumut also apologized for bothering Bian these few days.

'OK!' was Bian's only answer.

Mumut frowned at Bian's answer. She then went in to meet her mother and asked her not to worry.

In another place, Bian smiled at his cell phone. He remembered how last night that girl had been able to turn him on, to the point that he could barely contain himself if only Bian hadn't seen Mumut's innocent and childish face, while he could always control his passion for Ristie. Bian took a deep breath and turned his gaze to the laptop in front of him.

Bian was thinking about Ristie when his cell phone rang. It was from Ristie! Bian immediately picked it up.

'Hello …'

'Hello, Honey ... I miss you.'

Ristie's soft voice teased him. Bian sighed. He should be happy now that Ristie contacted him. Wasn't he acting like a madman in the last few days before he married Mumut? Ristie never wanted to receive his calls and suddenly sent a wedding invitation, making him decide to marry Mumut when the girl asked him for help.

"Bi …"

"Yes ...?"

'I heard that you were married. Is that true?"

"Yes," Bian answered to the point, making Ristie heartbroken.

'How could you ...?'

Bian didn't answer, and he has heard his sigh

'Sorry about the invitation, Bi. It was not my wish, but my father forced me. He asked me to marry his best friend's son, and I couldn't refuse." Ristie almost sobbed.

Ristie's sad voice teased Bian, which made him sigh. If Ristie had given him an explanation earlier, maybe Bian would not have rushed to marry Mumut. Of course, he would struggle to continue his relationship with Ristie, even though Bian was quite surprised by Ristie's words that her father had forced her, because all this time, Ristie's parents were very supportive of their relationship.

Bian sighed again and asked himself if he regretted marrying Mumut. Mumut's childish face appeared in his mind and made him sure he didn't regret his decision to marry her. After all, he asked Mumut to marry him even though he never paid attention to her. And he had promised himself that when the time came, he would divorce Mumut but not now.

(Bi, do you love her?) Asked Ristie again, her voice was hoarse, full of regret.

(Who ...?)

(The wife who was your mother's choice!)

(Hmmm) Bian replied reluctantly.

(Bi? Do you love her or not?!)

( That's none of your business!) Bian replied coldly. Somehow Bian felt that he had to say that, even though he knew that his love for Ristie was still great. But he also wanted to test her.

Ristie was very angry with Bian's answer. She immediately turned off her cell phone. She growled like a wounded tiger. She did the marriage because she just felt ignored by Bian during the Zettira product launch event some time ago. Ristie wanted Bian not to forgive her and always put her first. For Ristie, the company would continue to run because Bian could control it well.

Bian was sitting pensively in his chair. He gazed blankly at the laptop screen in front of him.
