It's Not Easy To Be A Manager In My Company.

Mumut smiled when she saw her mother was asleep. Mumut hoped that she would recover from her injury soon. Mumut immediately said goodbye to Muna and informed her that she was going out for a while. Mumut headed to an internet cafe not far from the hospital to download several journals for her thesis and copy them onto a flash disk. What Mumut heard was that her supervisor was quite a killer, so she tried her best. After she finished downloading the required journals, Mumut paid the friendly cafe keeper.

Mumut walked back to her mother's pavilion, which was only about three hundred meters far from the cafe. Mumut didn't know that a black sports car passed beside her and got ahead of her.

When Mumut returned to the pavilion where her mother was treated, she saw Bian was already there, sat on a chair, and read the news from his smartphone. He turned his head and smiled when he saw Mumut enter the room.

Mumut froze at that smile. It was such a dazzling smile. She had seen him often before, but that smile was never for her. This time the smile was for her.

"Sir ... Bian?!" Mumut was too nervous to smile back.

"Where have you been?" Bian's tone is so soft, yet it can deliver the electric power that shocked Mumut.

"The internet cafe," Mumut felt her body stiffened as she put herself on the chair next to Bian. She immediately took a deep breath and tried to be as calm as possible to cover her nervousness.

"The internet cafe?" Bian looked at her.

"Uh, eh. Yes, Sir ..." Being stared at in such a way by Bian made her even more nervous.

"What for?"

Mumut felt like she was being interrogated, and she couldn't avoid him.

"Uh, I was looking for some journals for my thesis."

Bian narrowed his eyes, still staring at Mumut. Bian remembered that Randy had asked Mumut about her thesis. His smile grew wider.

"Which chapter are you into?"

"I haven't started it yet. Yesterday I just consulted the title with the supervisor, and thank God he approved it. I was looking for some materials."

Bian asked Mumut about the title, and Mumut mentioned it.

Bian asked her about the reason she took a major in management. Mumut answered that she didn't want to be a janitor all her life. Therefore, she had to improve her education and hoped that she would one day become one of Bian's company managers.

Bian laughed as he stroked Mumut's head, which made her quite uncomfortable.

"It's not easy being a manager in my company! Are you sure you can?" Bian teased her, looking into Mumut's eyes with a smile on his lips.

"InsyaAllah, with the abilities I have, I can!" said Mumut confidently.

"Let's prove it! If you can pass Cum Laude, I can think of a position for you!" Bian laughed.

Mumut frowned so that Bian became exasperated. He put his hand on Mumut's shoulder and pulled her into his arms. She instantly blushed. She quickly tried to get herself free from Bian as she looked around.

Bian tightened his arms. His soft laughter filled Mumut's ears, which made her heart feel like exploding.

The sound of someone clearing his throat made Bian stop his act of going to kiss Mumut. The two of them turned in the sound direction and found Randy standing a few meters away from them. Mumut felt embarrassed, while Bian just laughed and told Randy to come closer.

"You newlyweds! It's still daytime, Boss!" Randy laughed.

Mumut immediately took advantage of the moment to break free from Bian and run to her mother's room. Mumut saw Arya in the room, talking with Muna about her mother's condition. Mumut smiled at Arya, and the elderly, who was Bian's driver, bowed respectfully to her. Mumut sat on the sofa, and her gaze fell on her cell phone. She read some of the incoming chats.

(How many chapters has it been, Mut?) It was Andika's chat. Mumut let out a deep breath, feeling her chest pounding.

(Not yet,) Mumut hadn't even started writing her thesis due to recent events because she didn't have a laptop. She sold her laptop a half year ago to pay off her debt. Usually, she would go to the internet cafe or borrow a computer at the office after working hours to do her homework.

On the terrace, Bian and Randy were having a serious conversation. Randy was seen talking on the phone, while Bian watched him.
