Monday Memorial Day

Now let me start with Monday didn't start out to bad infact we woke up still tired but we had been able to get a little sleep now let me explain how we slept and try to give you a picture to build.

My dad had his chair which he slept in next to him by the line of the parking spot we were in a large piece of wheeled luggage in front of that and then two duffle bags from the basket so that my mom, brother and I also had places to sit but they doubled as pillows for us and we slept on the ground.

Its not as bad as it sounds it could have been worse and something could have happened to us while we slept we all know that but that's not what this chapter is about so let me get back on track Monday morning came and so did people that just gave us money and believe me I thank God for that for all of those people and the ones who brought us food so we had food and a little extra cash that way to get something to drink.

Now as the day wore on we had lunch and then my mom and dad went over to lowes to look around and get my dad out of the horrible Florida heat and my brother and I stayed with our stuff and made sure nobody messed with any of our stuff yes we sat in the heat but we each had a bottle with water in it so we were OK.

Our parents got back and just as my mom and I were about to head to walmart so I could use the restroom and cool off a little a police officer showed up and let me get this out of the way now in no way do I or anyone in my family have anything against cops or hold a grudge against them so what your about read please don't judge just remember my dad was exhausted and hot.

So as I was saying the officer pulled up parked his car right by us and got out of his car and right away we could tell he had a chip on his shoulder or he was having a bad day I'm not sure but he got out and right away told us in a  very I guess the word I'm looking  for is aggressive manner that we couldn't stay where we were because it was against the law and it was loitering.

So my dad replied to him in a defensive manner of we had been told we could stay there now let me just say my dad was almost arrested and thrown in jail and would have been to but thank God my mom, brother and I were able to defuse the situation pretty fast and very calmly told the officer that we had been told by a different officer that we were fine staying where we were at he told us that we couldn't and if we tried to stay he would have us permanently trespassed from that property.

So we cleaned up our area not wanting to cause problems and we started to move and we went to Walmart first so my dad could ask the officer nicely I mind you if there was any way we could wait to move out of the area till the sun went down? The officers answer was no OK so we had to figure it out and we knew God would help us figure it all out at least guide us in the right direction.

We left the property with the little bit of money we did have and found a shaded area that technically was public property so we knew we were OK for the time being and that's where we are dinner and decided to explore till we were sure the officer had left and we went back to the area we we're in with the intent to leave after we charged my dads and my phones at McDonalds and got a drink to share between the four of us.

It was at this point we decided to head back to the area we had originally been in because my dad wasn't feeling good and he was swelling really badly in his legs and he wanted to go see his dr make sure he was OK so we had where we were going just we weren't sure how we would get there because well the way we came to get there would have been harder to back track through with no light of any kind.

So we found a different route and I'm not going to tell where it was because I'm not going to give names of a lot of things now since we decided on the way and we knew about how long it was going to take we had to get moving asap so that we would be walking in the coolest part of the day and so we didn't miss the drs office opening so my dad could get in and see her.

Now I want you to know the walk we took was very long very hard made worse by being extremely tired but we kept going I pushed my dad in his wheel chair through some challenging areas hit areas I couldn't see and tipped him out of his chair and on top of all of that we had to keep pushing forward and as we went my brother, mom and I kept asking God for strength to keep moving and he helped us keep going by the time we got to an area not far from the hospital it was right in front of Walmart at the bus stop we slept for half an hour we made it to where we were hoping to make it.

We slept for half an hour before we had to go up to where the drs office is and after my dad saw the dr she told him she wanted him to get blood work done and to come back now it Wednesday he got the blood work done and then Thursday that he went to see the dr.

Now in the next chapter your going to find out what's been going on with dad while on the streets why he didn't feel good remember God loves you and will protect you.
