The Cosa Nostra (Part 1)

Chris stood in front of the UA entrance once more. He had a big smile across his face just like when he had stood there at the beginning of his first year. Jason walked up and stood next to him. "There's nothing like walking into UA at the beginning of the year." Chris smiled at his friend. "It's like I'm walking up for the first time." Shoto walked up and held Jason's hand. Jason looked over at his girlfriend. "Hey… at least one thing changed…" Shoto tilted her head in confusion. "Hm?" "You didn't smile on the first day of school last year." Shoto smiled even more brightly. Momo walked up and wrapped her arms around Chris's. "Hey honey." Chris smiled down at Momo. "Hey there." He quickly looked down at his phone for the time. "We only have a few minutes left before we should be in class." Jason sighed. "Those two are going to be late again." Momo giggled. "I suppose they can't run away from tradition." The four students went to their class.

The six seats in the back had been reserved for them. With two exceptions, their classmates were the same from their first year. Chris looked at the front row and recognized the orange haired girl. He smiled. "Hey Itsuka. Long time no see." Itsuka smiled. "Hi Chris. Nice seeing we're in the same class this year." Jason looked around. "...It looks like we lost Mineta and Sato." Kirishima looked around. "Two? Who's the other new guy?" Jason pointed. There was a guy sitting next to Itsuka. He smiled and stood up. "Hey guys. I'm Tetsu." Chris shook his hand with a smile. "Tetsu. Is that short for something?" "Yea. My full name is Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu." Chris blinked. "...Wait, seriously?"

Kirishima and Mina burst into the room with seconds to spare. In the back, Kaminari swore and gave Jirou a few dollars, clearly having lost a bet of some kind. The six friends all sat in the back of the class, their seats identical to where they had sat last year.

The blonde, slicked up haired hero walked into the classroom with a very large smile on his face. "Hello everyone!" Chris smiled. "Looks like Present Mic is our teacher this year." The pro hero bowed to the class. "Hello everyone! For those of you who don't already recognize my beautiful voice, I'm Present Mic! You can call me Present Mic, Prez Mic, Mic, Mr. Yamada, it really doesn't matter to me! I'm now the designated teacher for Class 2A! And for those of you who don't know for some reason, you all are class 2A this year." Kaminari raised his hand. "Excuse me, Present Mic. I have a question." Present Mic pointed at Kaminari. "And I probably have answers!" "Why aren't we still Class 1A?" Mina looked over at him. "Because we moved up a grade." Shoto looked up for a brief moment. "Idiot." The class laughed a little bit. Present Mic laughed a little bit before raising his hands to calm the class. "Alright, alright, let's try not to call out people like that." Chris smiled a bit as he got his notebook out of his bag. Present Mic was certainly different than Mr. Aizawa. Their new teacher sat on his desk and faced 2A. "Alright, let's have some serious talk. In a normal year, you all would get your Probationary Hero Licenses half way through this year. However, as you all have your Licenses, things will be different, so try to follow me on this one."

"This year will be completely focused on you all applying to different Hero Agencies and working for them. There will still be school work, but it's all moving online since you'll all be spread across the state working for Hero Agencies of your choice. I'll still grade them and email you all the results, and we'll have quizzes here and there. That being said, you'll primarily be graded on your performance as a hero. Your Agency will inform me of how you're doing and that will be your primary grade for this year. Any questions?" Mina raised her hand. "How do we apply to Hero Agencies?" "Great question! You'll be writing very professional letters and UA will deliver them to said Agencies. Then, in a week, you'll get a letter of acceptance. If you don't receive a letter, it means you should start looking for other Agencies. I'll be here to help you all look for eligible agencies as well." The class nodded in understanding.

Jason and Chris both finished writing their letters on the third day. Just as they had promised each other, they were both applying to the Night Eye Agency. They were actually on their way to the Teacher's Lounge to talk to All Might. The retired hero smiled as the two entered. "Hello you two. I got your texts, as you can see. What's the problem?" Chris and Jason sat down, but Chris did the talking. "Hey, All Might, we've selected our agency of choice." All Might looked excited. "That's wonderful! Did you need help writing your application letter?" Chris shook his head. "We just need your help getting noticed." "Oh? You want me to email the agency? I don't want you two to have an unfair advantage at being selected." Jason looked at All Might. "Under normal circumstances, we would understand. However, this isn't just any agency we're applying to." All Might tilted his head in confusion. Chris finally said it. "All Might… we're applying to the Night Eye Agency…"

The color left All Might's face when he heard the name of his former side kick. The room fell into an eerie silence. All Might finally cleared his throat. "...The Night Eye Agency, you say… May I ask why you two want to go there? I'm sure there's plenty of other agencies that are happy to accept you both." Chris slightly smiled. "He's your former sidekick. I'm sure he can help me figure out how to use One for All." Jason shrugged. "I'm just tagging along for the ride." All Might sighed as he hung his head. "...I'm afraid I can't help you…" Chris was taken back. "...W...what…?" "I'm sorry, Chris, but Night Eye and I aren't on talking terms anymore. We haven't been since my injury." Jason leaned forward. "What happened?" "...Right after my first battle with All for One… he was there when Recovery Girl finished patching me up the best she could… He wanted me to retire… But I knew the world still needed a Symbol of Peace…" Jason sighed. "Great. So you two aren't getting along." Chris looked up at his mentor. "...Please, All Might…" All Might looked into Chris's eyes for a minute before sighing in defeat. "...I can send an email… but this might just ensure that he doesn't accept you…" Jason stood up. "Better than nothing. Thank you for your time, All Might." Chris stood up with a smile. "Thank you for your time, All Might." The two students left.

The next day, a man in a white suit was looking through his computer. He blinked a few times when he saw an email from All Might. He quickly made sure his glasses weren't smudged before checking again. Yes, it was definitely an email from All Might. He opened it up and read the email. He gritted his teeth. "...You're silent after all of these years… Then you tell me you passed on One for All to a quirkless nobody… And now this…" The man took a deep breath before replying to the email amidst talking to himself. "Sure, All Might. I'll take him in. However, I'll make sure he understands that he wasn't the correct choice. I'll prove to you that he shouldn't have been the one to receive the most powerful quirk in existence." Night Eye said as he sent an email that was much nicer, saying he would accept the two students. Then he lost his smile as he began typing. "I just accepted two students and I only know who one of them is. "Who's this 'Jason' guy he was talking about?"
