The Cosa Nostra (Epilogue)

The police lieutenant stared at the silver briefcase at his feet. He knew what was inside. He knew what was there and he didn't like it one bit. Darts that could permanently erase quirks? He only had to transport them, but even that was too much for him. He looked out at the road ahead. He was in the lead vehicle of the prisoner convoy of four cars and an ambulance. The ambulance was carrying a high priority passenger; the leader of the Cosa Nostra. He had been beat up really badly by some new hero. Doctors had said it was a miracle he survived. Now that his condition was stable, he was being transported to the recently reactivated Maximum Security Alcatraz Island Prison. Only the worst of the worst went there. Villains like Stain and All for One were kept there. The lieutenant looked up and saw that the van ahead of them was beginning to slow down.

The back doors of the van flew open. Mr. Compress and Dabi looked out at the police convoy. Dabi let a small smile creep onto his face. "This shouldn't take long." On top of the van, Shigaraki stood crouched down. "Now, Dabi!" Dabi ignited his flames and blasted the lead vehicle. The driver tried swerving, but hadn't slowed down at all, meaning the vehicle tipped and rolled. Shigaraki jumped onto the next vehicle; the ambulance. He touched the windshield, turning it to dust. Then he grabbed the wheel and forced it to make a hard turn, also causing it to flip. The three cop cars behind it swerved and stopped. The cops drew their guns as they exited, but Dabi kept their heads down with his flames. A hero stepped out of one of the police cruisers and ran forward. Shigaraki charged in, ready to pounce, but got blasted away by a very powerful stream of sand. Shigaraki rolled back to his feet and narrowed his eyes. It was the Sand Hero: Snatch.

Snatch unleashed his sand once more. "Damn you villains!" Shigaraki raised his hand to protect himself. "I can't use my quirk to disintegrate sand…" Shigaraki jumped to the side as Dabi unleashed another wall of fire. The sand turned into little bits of glass, which harmlessly fell to the street. Both Snatch and Dabi were blasting with all of their might. Then, as if out of nowhere, Mr. Compress jumped over the clash and reached out with his hand. The top half of Snatch became compressed, meaning the bottom half of his body fell. Mr. Compress crushed the tiny blue marble in between two fingers. The lifeless top half of Snatch fell onto the street.

Overhaul didn't know what was going on. He had been tossed out onto the road, still tied down to the stretcher. He couldn't use his quirk due to the quirk-suppressing handcuffs he was wearing. Shigaraki walked over and, using his foot, rolled the stretcher right side up. Mr. Compress walked up and used his quirk to compress one of Overhaul's arms. The thug screamed in pain. Mr. Compress smiled from behind his mask. "That's payback for the arm." He walked away to go help Dabi with his half of the mission. Shigaraki glared down at Overhaul, peering from behind the hand that served as his mask. "You're a great strategist, Overhaul. I'll give you that much. However, you miscalculated something in this little game. When you set up your pieces, when you planned all of your moves, you didn't account for the fact that Chris tends to flip the entire table." The villain pulled his hands out of his pockets. "There is a big difference between us, Overhaul. I tend to lose a lot, but you failed." Overhaul, still writhing in pain, glared up at Shigaraki. "What's the bloody difference?!" "I lost at the USJ attack, and I got away. I learned that Plan A almost never works. I lost some powerful assets in the Cowell Park raid, but I learned that I can divide up the heroes into manageable groups and pick them off one by one." Shigaraki smiled. "Then, when we first met, I learned that I didn't have to outsmart my enemies: I just had to let them think they outsmarted me. I may lose, but I can keep on losing until I learn how to win."

"However, when you lose, you don't know what to do next. If even one thing doesn't go according to plan, your entire plan falls apart. That's what happened yesterday; Chris suddenly powered up, you didn't know how to win, so you were completely helpless. You failed." Dabi found and opened the metal briefcase, finding the small box of red darts. He tossed the box to Shigaraki. The lead villain opened the box, looking down at the five permanent quirk erasing darts. "Regardless, your failure will lead to our success, so I do owe you thanks." Overhaul began to panic as Shigaraki knelt down and reached out. "Goodbye, Overhaul." He touched the thug's other hand and stood up. Overhaul's body slowly began to decay, starting from where Shigaraki had touched him. He tried to escape from the stretcher, but all attempts to escape his fate were futile. The last thing Overhaul saw was Shigaraki's deathly glare.

Shigaraki tossed the box back to Dabi, who put it back into the briefcase. With that, Shigaraki led Mr. Compress and Dabi back to the van. Phase Two of Shigaraki's plan was now complete.
