The 1st year UA student blasted his opponent off of the platform with a high powered water jet. Midnight raised her hand into the air. "Ladies and gentlemen, I proudly present to you the winner of the 1st year students' Sports Festival!" The crowd erupted into wild cheers. Jason smirked. "Water quirk. Kind of reminds me of Backdraft." Chris nodded. "He has great control of the area around him." Shoto was holding Jason's hand. "Makes me wonder how he would fare in a fight against us." Jason chuckled as he stepped away from the railing looking down at the arena. "Nobody else in the school comes close to matching up to what we're packing." Momo leaned her head back to look at him. "You of all people should know that a good quirk alone isn't enough to ensure victory." "I know. If we were just talking about having good quirks, then we would all be in the top 10 students. Once you throw experience and skill into the equation, it's no longer a competition." Kirishima smiled as he and Mina walked up, sharing a plate of nachos. "I'm inclined to agree. We've gone from a group of newbies to a battle hardened force in just over a year. Even villains are starting to run scared upon hearing our names." Chris smiled as he also stepped away from the railing. "I can't wait to be back in the field again." Kirishima threw his arm over Chris's shoulder. "You and Jason will be working with me soon!" The friends shared a laugh before exiting the arena, heading home.
All Might watched the six friends walk off of campus from the top floor of UA. He smiled. Chris had grown a lot since inheriting One for All. Jason has been keeping up the entire time, and their rivalry has inspired many others around them to work and train harder. All Might's thoughts were interrupted by Aizawa. "It's time." The two teachers entered the conference room. Aizawa, as the teacher with most seniority out of the group, sat directly to the right of the Principal; his lifelong friend Nezu. Nezu was an experiment to combine animal genes in an attempt to create a new species. However, he also had a quirk: High Spec. He could calculate thousands of probabilities in seconds, limited only by his knowledge of the situation. He smiled out at the teachers. "Thank you all for gathering today. It is time to discuss something that we should have brought up a long time ago." Aizawa nodded. Snipe, the Cowboy Hero, turned to the principal. "And that might be…?" Aizawa looked up from his papers. "Someone here at UA is a traitor, working for the League of Villains."
The room was quiet enough to where you could hear a pin dropping on carpet. Pres Mic was the first one to speak up. "It makes sense, if you think about it. Back at the USJ, the League attacked because they were after All Might. How did they know he was going to be there?" Vlad king nodded in agreement. "And again when they attacked us at Cowell Park, they knew exactly when we were there and how many of us there were." There were quiet mutters amongst the teachers. Power Loader scratched his head. "Then that means it can't be a student. If the League is getting that kind of intel, then one of us here is the traitor." The room fell completely silent. Each and every teacher looked amongst each other. With the exception of All Might, they had all been working together as teachers for nearly half a decade. They completely trusted each other. All Might too was almost completely above suspicion, given his former Symbol of Peace status. Principal Nezu raised a hand up, quieting down the noise that hadn't started yet. "Thinking about this won't help anyone. Each of us should pick a Hero Agency to ask for help in investigating us. I will personally ask for the Federal Bureau of Investigation to take a look at all staff and students here. We will let them do the investigating while we continue to do our jobs; train and protect our students." Midnight nodded in agreement. Pres Mic seemed satisfied with the answer. The teachers all nodded in agreement. All Might was the last one to nod his head. He hadn't hesitated out of defiance. He was in shock. The thought of a traitor in UA had never occurred to him before. Before he could think of this revelation in more detail, Principal Nezu interrupted. "It's settled then. Now, let's continue on with the meeting."
Aizawa looked down at his paper, reviewing the agenda for the day. "Alright, second year hero course teachers, we need an update on how their internships are going." He looked up at Snipe. "Snipe, how is 2B this year?" "I'm sorry to say they aren't doing very well. They haven't been able to locate many agencies that want to bring them onboard. I have been talking to the nearby police stations to see if they could at least do some community work so they can at least get their faces out there." He looked over at Pres Mic. "2A has been in the spotlight this year." Aizawa nodded before turning to Pres Mic. "I purposely made you go second since I know you're excited." "Mean!" "How is 2A doing?" Pres Mic had a big smile. "They're on fire!" Midnight blinked a few times. "...would you care to elaborate at all?" "Huh? Oh, sure." Pres Mic calmed down, still smiling. "A good bulk of them have been able to get accepted into hero agencies, and a few of them have even been requested. As far as their activity in the field, they're killing it. Tokoyami has been working hard with night time patrols. He's certainly in his element there. Ojiro got picked up by a new martial arts' hero agency. Then, of course, we've all heard about the Cosa Nostra Raid in Los Angeles." The teachers all nodded. They had seen the news. Chris, Jason, Kirishima, Mina, and Momo had all exceeded expectations. All Might smirked. "I have a funny feeling that we're going to get a good look at their improvements first hand tomorrow."
The next day, Chris and Jason walked out of the dorm, dressed in the UA gym uniform. The rest of their friends followed close behind. They were on their way to the arena. Outside the student entrance was a small group of parents. There would be more as the day went on. The group of friends had purposely gone earlier in order to not be stuck in the crowd. Ms. Harper forced a smile. "Hello honey." Chris smiled and hugged his mother. She looked over at Jason and held an arm out, trying to pull him into the hug. Jason obliged. Kirishima looked up in surprise. "Fatgum?! What are you doing here?!" The large hero let out a booming laugh. "I came to support you and my two new interns!" The redhead smiled. "I greatly appreciate it!" Mina went to go interact with her family. Momo stayed near Chris, smiling and talking with Ms. Harper.
Shoto noticed a very familiar person out of the corner of her eye. She quickly snapped her head over. The white haired woman smiled at her. Shoto was figuratively frozen. Then she began to tear up as she approached the woman. The woman stayed where she was, still smiling. Shoto stopped in front of her. They were the same height. Shoto finally managed to speak. "...mom…?" "...hello, Shoto…" The two women embraced each other. Rei smiled, tears beginning to form. "You've grown up so much…" Shoto continued holding her mother. At last, the two separated. Rei put a hand on Shoto's left cheek. She still held herself responsible for the permanent frost scar that covered Shoto's left eye. Shoto smiled and took her mother's hand. She never blamed her mother. "Mother, how are you here? I thought you needed to be accompanied to leave the institution." "I am. Your father is watching me." Shoto lost her smile. "...dad checked you out…?" Rei nodded. "He's just around the corner." Shoto looked. She couldn't see him from where she was, but she could see his flames. Shoto looked back at Rei. "Why would he let you out?" "Because he thought you would do better in the festival if you knew I was watching. He also truly is sorry for what he has done. I mean, he has visited me every day since I have been admitted." Shoto froze. She had no idea that her father had actually cared for her mother. Rei put a hand on her daughter's cheek. "Enough with the sadness. I'm glad I get to watch you this year. Are you ready?" Shoto smiled. "Yes, but there is one thing I need to do first." She turned and raised her voice. "Jason, please come here!" Jason walked over. "Jason, allow me to introduce you to my mother."
