UA student morale was high today. Much higher than normal. Sure, the country lost another Number One Hero to the League of Villains, Yes, the public was losing faith in heroes across the country. However, today was still seen as a giant victory. It was a victory because the League of Villains had once again kidnapped one of their own, but was saved by fellow students. The students saw this as them taking a stand against the League of Villains, like a message stating that they won't be pushed around anymore. This was far from the truth of the situation, but the teachers were more than willing to let the students believe this lie if it meant raising school morale.
Jason entered the UA dorms. His class rushed forward, just as they had done to Chris several weeks ago. In the back, Tokoyami just looked at Jason. They made eye contact. Tokoyami smirked and nodded. Jason smiled and waved before being dragged to the lounge by his classmates. Denki wrapped an arm around his best friend. "Come on, Tokoyami! Come join us!" Tokoyami closed his eyes. "Jason is safe. That is all I wanted to check." "You know, most friends hang out together. Would it hurt you to interact with everyone?" Tokoyami sighed. "I still have no idea why we are friends." Denki smiled brightly. "I think you put it best yourself. I think you said something like…" Denki cleared his throat and deepened his voice to try and mimic Tokoyami. "...if I am darkness, you are light. Just because we are opposites doesn't mean we have to be enemies." Tokoyami turned to Denki. "That doesn't mean we have to be friends." Denki sighed. "...then I guess I won't be around to give Dark Shadow treats…" Dark Shadow emerged from Tokoyami's torso. "Treats?!" Tokoyami closed his eyes and took a very slow, deep inhale of breath. "...fine. Let's go to the group." Denki held two thumbs up. "That's the spirit, dude!"
Later that night, once hundreds of questions had been satisfied, Shoto whispered in Jason's ear. He smirked and turned his head to her. "That's a great idea. I'm going to go change first." Shoto smiled. "I'll meet you outside." Chris smiled, having heard the conversation from across the room. He intercepted Jason on his way to the elevator. "Hey dude." "What's up, Chris?" "make sure you two are back at a decent hour. We still have school tomorrow." "Ah shit. That math test, right?" "Yep." Jason nodded. "We won't be gone long."
Jason threw on a hoodie before finally meeting up with Shoto outside. She smiled up at her boyfriend. "If you get too cold, you can just hold my left hand." "Tempting." Jason smiled and held her hand. The two walked together towards the park area on school grounds. This late at night, the place was deserted, meaning the couple could have some privacy. The two sat on a bench together. Shoto cuddled up against Jason. He smiled down at her. "When was the last time we had a moment alone like this?" Shoto smiled. "Hm… I think the last time we were alone like this was… when you kissed me on the pier." Jason sighed. "...feels like an eternity ago…" The young woman nodded. "Between school and work, which technically counts as school, we barely have time for us." Jason didn't say anything, but held his girlfriend close.
Shoto looked up at him. "Babe?" "Yea?" "Have you ever thought about kids?" Jason completely froze up. He wasn't expecting this. "...have I what?" "have you ever thought about having kids?" "...yes." "With me?" Jason exhaled and smiled. "You're really putting me on the spot here." Shoto sat up straight and turned her body to face him. "Well, I had a talk with the other girls a little while ago, and they said it's important for a couple to know what your partner is expecting in a relationship." Jason nodded. "Agreed." "And Jason?" "Yes?" Shoto looked down at the ground. "...I still want to become the best hero i can possibly be, but I also want to start a family." She looked up at him. "I want to raise a family with you." Jason looked at the ground. Shoto began to tear up. "...you… don't want kids, do you…?" Jason quickly looked up at her. "What?! No no, that's not the issue!" Shoto tilted her head in confusion. Jason turned his body towards hers and held her hands. "Shoto, I would love to raise a family with you. I really would. It's just…" Shoto looked at the ground. "...am i not good enough." "Shoto, you are not the problem in this equation. I just…" Jason sighed, realizing that there was no other way to put this. He would be blunt. "Shoto, I don't want to bring a child into the world knowing people like All for One and Shigaraki are trying to get at us. They've already proven that there are no lengths they won't go to to target us. I don't want to subject our kids to that." Shoto thought for a second before nodding. "As long as the League of Villains is running around, especially with how powerful they are, it would be irresponsible for us to bring a kid into this world."
Jason put a hand on Shoto's cheek and gently made her look at him. "Hey. Once we graduate, after we become pro heroes, and after we lock up the League of Villains, I would be more than happy to start a family with you." Shoto smiled. "Then I guess we better start picking names." Jason laughed. "I have some ideas." Shoto raised her eyebrows, still smiling. "Oh? Tell me." "Maybe later. Hey, I'm getting thirsty. Do you mind if I run back and get some water?" "No. Could you bring me back some too?" Jason smiled and kissed her. "No promises." "Mhm. See you soon." Jason powered Inner Strength through his legs and took off running.
Denki and Tokoyami were relaxing in the lounge when Jason entered the dorms. Denki smiled and waved. "Hey dude! Where-" Tokoyami jabbed Denki in the side with his elbow. "Ow!" "Others are trying to sleep." Denki looked defeated as he talked more quietly. "Hey, didn't Shoto go out with you?" "Yea. I'm just grabbing some waters for us." Denki smiled. "You two going to be out there for a while?" Jason shrugged. "Don't know yet. We'll see what the mood is like in a while." Jason tensed up. Denki had a mischievous smile. Jason glared and pointed. "You know exactly what I meant."
Jason sprinted through the redwood trees. His quirk was getting weaker as time went on, but he refused to stop. He knew he was being tailed by villains. He knew he wouldn't be able to hide. He just had to get onto UA grounds, then the League of Villains wouldn't be able to get past the security systems. Jason saw the wall coming up. With a final push, he jumped up and over the wall. On the other side, he tried to stick the landing, but his body was too weak at this point. He ended up rolling to a stop in the grass.
Shoto spun her head over to the noise. She tensed up when she saw Jason rolling in the grass. She got up and ran over. "Jason?!" Jason looked over and tensed up. He began to cry as Shoto ran over. Jason wrapped his arms around her. "I… I thought I would never see you again…" Shoto held him, still confused. "What the hell happened to you?!" She looked at Jason's dirty and torn up clothes. Jason sighed. "...I've been running… for almost a day…" Shoto's confusion hit new heights. "What the hell are you talking about? You were gone for nearly a minute." Jason looked confused. He looked past Shoto for a brief moment before shoving her down to the ground. Shoto hit the dirt hard before looking up at him. Jason had raised his guard to block an incoming kick from… Jason? Shoto rolled to the side and stood up, her flames ready. Then she froze. What she saw were two Jasons staring at each other, ready to kill the other.
