Double Take (Part 2)

The two Jasons circled each other slowly. The one in torn up clothes clenched his fists. "So this is what the plan was? Kidnap me and replace me with a faker?" The other Jason raised his hands up in a defensive posture. "You're the faker here. I have no idea how you got past UA security, but I honestly don't care. You aren't going to get the chance to trick anyone." The one in tattered clothes scoffed. "Is that right? That's a lot of talk coming from someone hiding behind my face." Shoto looked back and forth between them. After a few moments of silence, Shoto deactivated her flames and raised her hands up. "Ok, neither of you move. Let's just-" Both Jasons rushed towards each other, engaging in hand to hand combat.

Chris shut the door to his room with a slight smile. "You know, as far as UA Dorm Policy is concerned, we could get in a lot of trouble." Momo smiled, wrapping her arms around his neck. "Has that ever stopped you before?" "Yes." Momo giggled. "So breaking school fighting policies is ok, but having a girl in your room isn't?" Chris tried to play dumb. "What are you talking about?" Momo sighed. "Chris, I'm talking about last year, when you and Jason went and fought after hours." Chris shrugged. "No idea what you're talking about." Momo lost her smile. "Chris, you were wearing those bandages for your injuries for days. I did a little bit of snooping and I found the security recordings of your fight." Chris looked back at the door, double checking that it was closed. Then he looked back to her. "You can't tell anyone." "I know, and I haven't. I was just worried." Chris sighed and wrapped his arms around Momo's waist. "...I'm sorry. We were trying to sweep that fight under the rug. I mean, Jason and I could've gotten in a lot of trouble if word got around about us using our quirks outside of training." Momo nodded before smiling. "Enough about that. Where were we?" Chris smiled again as he kissed his girlfriend. Momo closed her eyes, enjoying the kiss. Then she opened her eyes. Chris had turned his head, as if he had heard something. "Is everything ok?" Chris took a second before answering. "...I think there's a fight going on…" Momo let go of Chris. "Maybe it's some students doing some late night training?" Chris listened a little longer. "...it's Jason. He's fighting someone in the park." The two ran out of the room.

Mina had just sat down with her ice cream, licking her lips. Kirishima sat down in the lounge next to her, sitting across from Denki and Tokoyami. Denki leaned forward. "Hey guys. What happened on the raid?" Kirishima looked at him. "What do you mean?" "Well, the news said that you guys raided a League of Villains compound and saved Jason, but that was it." Mina put her ice cream on the table. She wasn't smiling anymore. Kirishima looked at her before looking at Denki. "...I think it's best if we don't-" "It was a goddamn massacre." Denki, Tokoyami, and Kirishima turned to Mina as she explained what happened. "We got a call reporting a villain sighting. Of course we went in. Endeavor and Shoto arrived on scene and encountered a Nomu." Denki sighed and leaned back. "Those things are so goddamn annoying. Well, after Endeavor melted the thing, what-" "Denki, this Nomu was stronger than anything we've ever seen. I would dare to say that this thing could have beaten All Might." Denki's eyes widened as he turned to Kirishima, who solemnly nodded. Denki ran a hand through his hair. "...my god…" Tokoyami spoke up. "Mina, what happened next?" Mina's hands were slightly shaking. "...by the time the rest of us had gotten there, Endeavor was down… Fatgum was next… the rest of us were fighting the hardest we could, but it was clear that we were at the mercy of that thing… until…" Kirishima saw Mina was tearing up, so he continued. "Endeavor grabbed the Nomu and blasted off into the sky. Then he used all of his strength to destroy the Nomu. Mina and Momo went to go see if Endeavor survived and Tamaki stayed with Fatgum. That meant, out of the eight of us that were a part of the raid, only three of us were able to try and complete the mission, and trust me when I say that not a single one of us were ready for an all out fight if it had to come to that." Denki looked at Kirishima. "Meaning?" "Dude, we had gotten our asses kicked by a giant Nomu. We were all exhausted. Hell, if Jason didn't wake up when he did, I'm 70% certain that Chris and I would've died."

Before any other details could be shared, Chris and Momo sprinted by. Mina looked up. "Hey! Where are you-" The two were already out the door. The four friends all looked at each other before standing up and following.

Aizawa poured himself some coffee. He had exited his room for the first time in hours, but he would have to go right back in. He was never the best at doing paperwork, but the job required a lot of it. His class this year was nowhere near as exciting as the last year had been. Aizawa walked into the lounge area of the teacher's dorm. He tensed up slightly when he spotted All Might, tapping away at his work laptop. "I didn't expect anyone else to be up at this hour, Toshinori." All Might looked up with a smile. "Well these papers won't grade themselves." Aizawa smirked as he sat across from All Might. "Why do you work out here?" "It feels so cramped in my room. Out here, I can enjoy the view too." All Might temporarily stopped typing so he could talk with Aizawa. "So I've noticed you've taken a personal interest in both Chris and Jason's grades." Aizawa sipped his coffee. "I like checking up on my former students, to see how they're doing." All Might smirked, knowing the truth. "But you've only been focusing on them. Why?" Aizawa sighed as he looked out the window. "Chris and Jason both have incredible potential. It helps that they're rivals, since training together will increase their strength faster than if they were training alone." All Might nodded. "Those two are quite impressive." All Might leaned his head back, staring up at the ceiling. "I wish I had more time in my days. I wish I could help teach them, but they seem to be just fine teaching themselves how to be heroes." Aizawa didn't respond. All Might looked at him. "What is it?" "...it's true that they are great at teaching themselves how to fight and perform hero work, but it's not the best possible option for training them. If only I could train them one on one…" All Might chuckled. "So that's it. You want to personally oversee their training." Aizawa nodded. "He's a great teacher, but Pres Mic isn't the best option when it comes to trainees like Jason and Chris. They are already so far ahead of the curve, easily surpassing most of our current third year students in both strength and experience." Aizawa looked directly at All Might. "UA is known for creating terrific heroes, but those two are something special. We haven't seen potential of this level since before I was born: when you were a student here." All Might nodded. He couldn't and wouldn't tell Aizawa about One for All being the reason behind Chris's potential. Then there was Jason, who was somehow keeping up with Chris through sheer force and willpower. All Might allowed himself a small smile. If All for One and One for All didn't exist, Jason's Inner Strength might be considered the strongest quirk in the world.

The teachers were interrupted by movement near the 2A Dorm. Aizawa stood up. "What the hell is going on?" All Might moved his laptop and rose as well. It was Chris and Momo, followed closely by Kirishima, Mina, Denki, and Tokoyami. Both teachers glanced at each other. All Might shrugged. Aizawa rolled his eyes. Then both teachers sprinted for the door to figure out what the hell was going on.
